Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX was the safest spot I could’ve landed when my life was burning down. I came in drowning in booze, broken from childhood abuse, combat PTSD, and straight rage. They gave me the tools to start building something solid out of all that wreckage.
Biggest lesson for me was Ego. I thought I had one, maybe two. Nah, I had a fleet of them! All those past traumas twisting up and firing off as anger. Warriors Heart helped me see it, strip it down, and start putting in the real work.
Most of the staff are real ones, and they show up every day with wisdom, patience, and love.

She puts in countless amounts of long hours and late nights; and often came in on her days off. My personal experience with her as a provider was nothing short of flawless. She swiftly identified my needs, enabled me to process, and showed mastery in all facets of the profession. This woman has so much dedication and care for her patients and their recovery. She is selfless, empathetic, educated, kind, caring, empowered, and so much more. Her actions and words alone portray the highest standards of care. Myself and other patients have already promoted Starlite's Military/First Responder programs to case managers and colleagues because of how positive our experiences were (both individually and as a group); which wouldn't have been possible without Teresa. She is an asset that this organization would be foolish to undervalue, that positively helps people change their lives for the better, and that personifies what it means to set the standard.

When patients are in crisis, depressed, anxious, addicted, hurt, etc. Teresa rises to the occasion day in and day out giving her best and showing that she really cares; truly; and provides outstanding patient care to those who have served our nation and its communities in some fashion.

The Fullbrook Center is an addiction treatment center for women that’s located in the city of Fredericksburg, Texas. They offer medical detox and residential treatment programs that last between 30 and 90 days, depending on your needs and progress. They have space for 29 women at a time. Their facility is located on 10 sprawling acres of Texan c | Treatments Programs Payment Options | ** A REAL REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO DID 90 DAYS AT FULLBROOK **
I came to Fullbrook at one of the lowest points in my life. I was angry, hopeless, and determined to do things “my way” — even though my way had landed me in rehab. What I’ve learned since then is that recovery requires accountability, honesty, and surrender. Fullbrook gave me those tools, but it was up to me to use them.
Is Fullbrook perfect? No, because no treatment center can be. The staff are human — they get overwhelmed, have bad days, and make mistakes. But what mattered most to me was that when mistakes happened, they took accountability. I had a staff member once be short with me, but she came back, apologized, sat with me, and stayed past her shift just to help me. That showed me more about humility and real care than perfection ever could.
A lot of the negative reviews I see come from women who didn’t want to surrender to the program or who were upset about being held accountable. Fullbrook isn’t a place where your feelings are coddled or where staff will co-sign destructive behaviors. It’s a place where you’re told the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. And in recovery, that’s exactly what we need to hear.
Some points I’ve seen repeated in reviews:
Phone Policy: It’s hard at first. But if I had been able to make calls whenever I wanted in those early days, I would’ve left to get high or burned bridges with my family. That structure saved me from myself.
Equine Therapy: When I was there, equine was offered once a week. No, it wasn’t horseback riding (for obvious safety/liability reasons), but it was still meaningful. Every week it was available, but some women simply didn’t want to go because of the heat or personal preference. To say it wasn’t offered is just not true.
The 12 Steps & Trauma: The 12 Steps are one tool, not the only one. Fullbrook also gave me trauma-informed therapy, coping skills, and boundaries. Healing isn’t about avoiding triggers — they’ll always exist. It’s about building a toolbox so you can walk through them without using.
Two years later, I can say I have a life I never imagined. I’m sober. I’m a mother, wife, and friend who shows up. But let me be clear — Fullbrook didn’t “fix me.” I fixed myself, using the tools, accountability, and structure I was given there.
This place won’t do the work for you. But if you’re willing to let go of control, be honest, and try a new way, Fullbrook will absolutely help you learn how to save your own life.

"I recently completed a 35-day residency at Fullbrook recovery center, and I can confidently say it was the best decision I've ever made. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported in an environment that understood the complexities of addiction and trauma.
The staff at Fullbrook were nothing short of amazing. Their expertise and compassion made all the difference in my recovery journey. The variety of programs offered—ranging from individual therapy sessions, small process groups and group activities—helped me unpack my experiences and develop healthy coping strategies.
Over the course of my stay, I experienced profound personal growth. I learned valuable tools to manage my triggers and built a strong support network with fellow residents. The program not only addressed my addiction but also provided a safe space to heal from past traumas.
I whole heartedly recommend Fullbrook Recovery Center to anyone seeking help. The compassionate care and comprehensive programs they offer truly changed my life, and I am now on a path to a healthier, happier future."
I am now 90 days sober thanks to Fullbrook.

SARC saved my life. My life had become unmanageable and was spiraling out of control. I was still working my full time successful career, but it was only a matter of time before I could have lost everything I’ve spent my life building. Tired of waking up with a black box of wine on my nightstand I threw lord knows what into my suitcase and checked into Cagnon for 38 days. For a girl accustomed to being in complete control I was petrified. I was a mess. The staff was so welcoming and walked me through the process. Was I ready to take 12 weeks off of work? It was life or death and I chose life. The detox process was tough. Reba and Alan made me as comfortable as I could be. I had sweats and nightmares. Roy, a lead counselor calmed me down. My job for 5 days was sleep, hydrate and rest. Gen the program Director Is fabulous. She kept assuring me trust in the process. Allow myself time to heal, grieve and let someone take care of me for once. The days are very structured with wellness, nutrition, groups, education, counseling. Nutrition and routine and self discipline are key. We have one job while in treatment. Show up!! It’s impossible not to learn, grow and learn valuable tools and coping skills to set you up for a lifetime of sobriety. All counselors know your name and your case. They are always available to lend an ear and advice. The center is staffed with people in long term recovery. Richard, Steven, Blake, Jess, Mandy Jo all have real life experience , Every night there is an AA meeting and fellow patients can meet in groups to do book study, talk and truly become a recovery family. This is a private facility that works with many insurance companies and helps people who need to make arrangements for private pay. The setting is serene and a wonderful place to heal. Gen, Roy and Paula are true experts in their field. Each with their own individual techniques and special touches to group sessions. I am for ever indebted to the techs, counselors and Karen and Raul Ruelas for their relentless passion in fighting for those struggling with substance abuse disorder to live a long happy life free of drugs and alcohol. World class facility. Amazing caring people who pour their heart and sole into what they do. Highly recommend if your looking for a program that treats the total individual and follows up on you for life. Love you all for all you did for me. XoXo D.
Run don’t walk!! Jackie should be stripped of her license. She used her position to look up my information and called me at 6:50am in California. This woman has ZERO business running a recovery facility. She heckled me and was relentless on the phone. I filed a grievance with State and against her. So sad she’s in charge. Place went downhill after Karen and Raul sold. Tragic. Go to New Day or SOBA. She’s a disgrace to the recovery community!! Do not go there.

Laredo is the 278th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $52945. This is lower than the average cost of $56623 for addiction treatment in Texas and lower than the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Laredo vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Laredo. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Laredo that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Laredo.
Private health insurance information for rehabs in this city is not currently available. You can filter by other payment options accepted to find affordable and low-cost addiction treatment options.
Laredo has the 384th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Webb county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Laredo or Webb county as a whole.
In 2023, Laredo had the 80th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 881 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Laredo. All values are per 100,000 population.
