I've received help here like none I've gotten before. The staff is understanding and compassionate, but they aren't going to let you get away with anything stupid. I've learned to be more independent, better at handling tough situations, and I've gained a lot of confidence in myself. I stayed here in the 90’s and it was life changing for me. I can see a lot has changed, but the program’s mission remains the same. I am now a therapist myself, and I have never forgotten how SMI helped me through one of the hardest times in my life! I highly recommend for those motivated to do the work necessary to overcome their MH challenges. I never regretted the time I spent here! When I left, I was totally prepared for the world and a long career of helping others like me!

Went march-april of 2019 fresh out of 6 month jail bid. Couldn't ask for a better group of people all around. I was genuinely accepted and treated with dignity by both residents and staff. 28 days flew by and I was reminded of how |enjoyable life can still be even if you are sober. They let us smoke cigarettes on the patio outside and the food was outstanding and many times restaurant quality. I'll always have fond memories of this place. I can only hope that those that I met there are winning their battle with addiction or at the very least not giving up. They were all good souls that deserve happiness just as much as anyone else.

I can’t say enough about how incredible The Plymouth House is. I spent 6 days in detox and 24 days in the Residential program, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation I had.
Having a full detox program with real clinicians on site was a game changer for me. The staff paid close attention to each guest’s needs, mine included, and that level of care truly made all the difference. From leadership to support staff, everyone was approachable, supportive, and fully present. They always made time when I needed it, which meant a lot during such a tough chapter of my life.
The team approach, Case Management, a Therapist, and a 12-Step resource dedicated specifically to me had a huge impact. Their focus on the Little Big Book really grounded the whole program and helped me find direction again.
The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and spacious, and the food… unbelievable. Every meal felt thoughtful and genuinely nourishing.
Today I’m 50 days sober, with a sponsor and a renewed sense of control and hope. My life is becoming manageable again thanks to The Plymouth House. I am truly grateful for what this place gave me.

I went to Valley Vista on 12-21-2021. I attended the center for 15 days. In those 15 days I went through so much turmoil and inner struggle. The hardest moments of my life still to this day. I experienced inside that building and with the employees of Valley Vista.

Valley Vista in Bradford, VT is a beautiful place. I attended I'd say 8 years ago but I was not mature enough to appreciate it then. I appreciate it now. It is a clean, safe facility with helpful and kind staff. When I was there they treated dual diagnosis, which I believe is a must to truly comprehend the main cause of addiction. Vermont's beautiful scenery helps as well. I remember they had great food as well, plenty of whole foods and cakes if you like processed sweets. I believe Vermont is best for farm fresh overall.
I have since grew stronger in my faith and I give glory to God for putting me in recovery, but I admire the peer specialists and professional workers of Valley Vista. It is a great place for the underprivileged to afford. Thank you!

My adult son and I did exhaustive research on community-based residential treatment plans that could capably provide applicable programming and psychiatric care, while delivering a clear step down plan. Averte checked all the boxes… I loved the fact that Steve started our discussion from a position of "how can we help your son ? " , Rather than "what's wrong with him".

Averte clinical staff are kind, compassionate and responsive. They truly care about the people in need of their services as well as their family members. As soon as I reached out for help, Steve called me within an hour and then was planning a visit within days to assess the situation (which was a 2.5+ hour drive). The team wraps their services around the person in need until they are stable. Amy, the Clinical Program Coordinator even took time from her vacation to talk to me prior to my family members discharge. That kind of support is invaluable during a time of crisis stabilization and the level of support is reassuring for everyone involved. One should never hesitate to reach out for help and if you are lucky, the help will come from Averte.

Maple Leaf Farms has been the ONLY rehab facility I've been in that I can't speak highly enough about!! The staff is so caring and genuinely is concerned about each patient and their individual needs. I made the decision to commit myself to their care in the winter or 2005. I'd been through the gambit of these types of facilities more times than i can remember, I didn't hold great expectations as i wasn't fully certain that they could tell me something I didn't already know or hadn't already heard. i was from Connecticut, released from Niantic womans' prison into the custody of a family member, who lived in Vermont. I wasn't remanded to complete a rehab. but in order to start to get my teenage daughter back in my life I agreed to do what they wanted. I never experienced such a verity of approaches to ease the discomfort of withdrawing from these hideous drugs! I was blown away that the curriculum my counselor had designed for me was working. Mostly in that I had fun going about my day with the other patients, people that where "like me" and we picked each other up off the floor when things got hard. Because if You don't find yourself experiencing uncomfortable feelings then you should take a better look at the facility your in!! It takes work , and Maplel Leaf made sure that when we worked hard we relaxed hard too!! Hands down BEST FACILITY YOU COULD EVER BE BLESSED ENOUGH TO BE IN!!! P.S. My daughter started at Davenport may, 2019. When my daughter first went to Davenport she was in poor health, and didn't do well in school. She also had a very hard time at home. Since she has been at Davenport, her health is great, awesome grades in school, home visits aare pleasant and follows through with counseling and she actually listens to mom and dad. She loves her counselor and equine therapy. She is also getting life skills. My daughter was a hard kid, since she's been at Davenport she's kind and caring. I would like you all know my daughter is still at Davenport and not sure when she's going home, but I trust the staff at Davenport.

Home Intervention, or HI, is a part of Washington County Mental Health. It is a place where someone who is in a state of crisis Mentally or Emotionally. An alternative to the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit, it is a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere than one would experience in the Inpatient Unit. Patients are, however, still under careful supervision, but it is designed to be for those who are in a state of crisis, but not as much of a danger to themselves or others and thus requiring slightly less supervision than someone in the hospital. I spent about a week and a half there and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very professional and very helpful. They were also pleasant and truly friendly, not just "nice" because they are supposed to be. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is having a difficult time, as everyone does at some points in their lives.
