What an amazing team in this office. I recently moved to this area and was reluctant that anyone could compare to the team I had left in Vergennes. This team is equally wonderful! They have gone above and beyond for me. You aren’t just a patient to them. They truly care. I would recommend them to anyone!

The employees that are currently providing services to those who request it, i believe are about diligence, and take pride in assisting and helping a person find out and learn about themselves in a new way, help to set up a plan for sobriety that works for each individual's needs. I personally find this place has a kind and caring staff, which is what some need at the point in life when they decide to be clean and sober. To start living life again! The counselors there must feel a tremendous sense of responsibility, and i feel deserve to be appreciated for all of their hard work and invested time and emotions involved. I personally thank all of you...and of course the wonderfully friendly, caring nurses.

When needed tho,in "special "circumstances, like call-backs or severe weather etc. BAART(St.J. ) Has consistently done whatever possible to help me maintain my Status, servicing me on these occasions when a missed dose or lab could prove to be a total failure and end of my program. So with actions such as these in mind, I've no problem in giving 'em a solid five.....

My son spent a year and three months at Spruce Mountain Inn, and I have nothing to say but positive things about it. The entire experience was, for us, a miracle. We had tried everything to treat his bipolar disorder, and I was desperate. In my search for a program that would help my son, Spruce stood out because it was a smaller program for people aged 18-28 that had been started in the 1980s and directed to the present day by the same incredible woman, and it seemed a good fit for my son. Surprisingly, it was also one of the least expensive as well. As a physician, I looked into SMI’s credentials and its personnel qualifications closely and was satisfied even before my son went there, and I was not disappointed. My son went from a severely depressed and sometimes suicidal individual who had no social interaction, was unable to keep a job, and basically felt hopeless about his life, to a confident, compassionate, outgoing, hardworking, and happy person. With the right medication (finally!) and the in-depth and insightful therapy he underwent, plus the love and care the staff at Spruce gave him, my son is now the person he was always meant to be without the bipolar disorder in charge of his brain. He is now able to live independently with a job and his own apartment, and manages his whole life with only the care and support any parents would give a child of 22. Spruce Mountain Inn literally changed his whole life, and because of that, ours as well. As a physician, I could not be more impressed with the amazing turnaround his time at Spruce made possible for him. As a parent, I could not be more grateful to them for giving him the chance to have a life. Without Spruce Mountain Inn, my son would still be a severely depressed individual completely dependent on his parents with no prospects and no hope of having a normal life. With Spruce Mountain Inn, my son now has a bright and happy future ahead of him. We will always be incredibly thankful to them for their help; it was literally a life-saver. Update 5 years later: My son is now 27 and an area manager for a large inventory company in Michigan. He has been doing fantastically well, able to weather the ups and downs of life thanks to the skills he learned at Spruce. At this point his bipolar disorder, while on medication and in counseling as needed, has only a small effect on his daily life. He is a happy, healthy and social person with a full life and an upwardly mobile job. Thank you again, Spruce Mountain!

I highly recommend Spruce for any young adult experiencing deep, unrelenting depression, as was our son. He went on his own volition, after years of trying everything else, at the recommendation of a local psychiatrist. And he dove into the program there. Everything about Spruce is intentional and thoughtful - the setting, the counselors, the program, interactions with the outside world and other residents. Our son's therapist was a perfect match for him, and us. He met people there who changed his life and with whom he is still in touch, and he began the process of becoming the adult he was meant to be. We scoffed at the idea that he would be there longer than a month or two, but his stay of seven months was perfect, and he left armed with life tools that are serving him well. As his therapist said, "He got a Ph.D. in himself!" We will be forever grateful to Spruce.

Maple Leaf Farms has been the ONLY rehab facility I've been in that I can't speak highly enough about!! The staff is so caring and genuinely is concerned about each patient and their individual needs. I made the decision to commit myself to their care in the winter or 2005. I'd been through the gambit of these types of facilities more times than i can remember, I didn't hold great expectations as i wasn't fully certain that they could tell me something I didn't already know or hadn't already heard. i was from Connecticut, released from Niantic womans' prison into the custody of a family member, who lived in Vermont. I wasn't remanded to complete a rehab. but in order to start to get my teenage daughter back in my life I agreed to do what they wanted. I never experienced such a verity of approaches to ease the discomfort of withdrawing from these hideous drugs! I was blown away that the curriculum my counselor had designed for me was working. Mostly in that I had fun going about my day with the other patients, people that where "like me" and we picked each other up off the floor when things got hard. Because if You don't find yourself experiencing uncomfortable feelings then you should take a better look at the facility your in!! It takes work , and Maplel Leaf made sure that when we worked hard we relaxed hard too!! Hands down BEST FACILITY YOU COULD EVER BE BLESSED ENOUGH TO BE IN!!! P.S. If Rebecca T reads this, I've been going crazy I lost your number hit me up on Facebook under Rebecca Wilson I've got so much to tell you!! I love you and miss you terribly!!! Rebecca Svatik Wilson

First, I see the same guy gave a 5-star, then later 1-star review. As a place that deals with addicts, by nature those who don’t follow the rules is gonna be angry. I have been to other treatment centers, and frankly, none of them compare to Green Mountain. It is filled with knowledgeable people who not only understand addiction but have lived through it and maintained long-term sobriety themselves. They were some of the first people I could genuinely identify with, and they gave me something I desperately needed: hope for the future. The team at Green Mountain takes seriously the responsibility of helping each person find lasting and meaningful sobriety, but they also understand that you have to be willing to listen and do the work. If you go during the summer, as I did, there is plenty of land to explore, which is a welcome change from being trapped inside the same building all day. Sure, you could go to a fancy facility with five-course meals, draw pictures of your disease, and make trigger lists longer than a 900-page Russian novel of every experience known to man, or you could go to Green Mountain and actually be challenged to discover who you are, confront what needs confronting, and learn to go beyond yourself through service to others. There is more depth at Green Mountain than other treatment facilities for those who seek it, and I will always be grateful to Green Mountain and Granite Recovery for helping me discover purpose and meaning when I was at the lowest point in my life. I am 13 months sober and I don't know if this would have been possible if I didn't go to Green Mountain.

Summit is a rare program that we searched high and low to find. My son was at summit for nine months, first in the Venture program and then in the Traverse program. He had been in other treatment programs before Summit and Summit was the most impactful for him. One thing that stood out was the supportive community, where vulnerability became possible. This was facilitated by all the staff and the program structure, but the guides stood out; in contrast to other programs the guides at summit are not only well-trained but they are devoted to the kids in a way that allows them to be both boundary setters and confidantes and mentors. Another standout element was the well thought out program--from the goals work in therapy to the structured planning for home visits. The regular feedback among the team members (the kids) was a huge asset in making this program work. At summit the kids are never made to feel that they are bad as they are in some programs; the balance between connection and support and holding boundaries is what really makes this program a standout among its peers.

When I finished inpatient rehab at Bayside Marin, I didn’t think I needed intensive outpatient treatment. Fortunately, I took the advice of the discharging coordinators and decided to attend River Rock IOP. I learned so much about trauma, mindfulness, behavioral cognitive therapy and from the life experiences of my classmates. I attended outpatient treatment at River Rock for two years, only “graduating “ when I moved out of state. The experience I have had at River Rock has changed my life in very profound ways. I have accepted that I get to and must continue growing in life skills and making healthy decisions. I wish all individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges could experience the caring community at River Rock.
