Wow, I was reading the very few reviews. Rules are rules..You get the leaflet/package when you first start the Process at Baart. You can travel, visit family in a different state which I have done many a time. There are proper channels you must go thru to get approved. You first talk to your immediate assigned Counselor. Then they review your record/UA's,Attendance..If I am not mistaken Dr. Brooklyn has the final OK. Then no problem. I am 100% Positive YOU DO NOT GET CALL BACKS when You do the Proper steps which are clearly outlined in the Agreement You/We signed from the beginning. I have been with Baart since 2015 transferred to St. Albans in 2017, I have a 100% perfect clean record/file. You/I do not get special treatment because of this. Yes it counts for alot. But rules are rules you want to be away even for 2 days and went thru the correct process YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A CALL BACK (Guaranteed))) So all you people that cry and try and lay blame on the Awesome Counselors at St. Albans Clinic need to get a grip. It is quite a simple process.. This Program has saved my Life PERIOD... I travel wherever and when ever I need to,,,,but The rules require at least 2 weeks if I remember correctly.... before said trip to dot all the I's and cross all the T's..to get your doses approved and ready to travel with you.....I mean come on to complain about this is a totally ridiculous waste of every ones time..I laugh to myself when I see supposed grown adults act like they are in Grade School...But it's all good their are many people on a waiting list to take your place that will be thankful as I am for getting this chance to Live and Fly right...No Cry Babies Needed, lol, lol......

Maple Leaf Farms has been the ONLY rehab facility I've been in that I can't speak highly enough about!! The staff is so caring and genuinely is concerned about each patient and their individual needs. I made the decision to commit myself to their care in the winter or 2005. I'd been through the gambit of these types of facilities more times than i can remember, I didn't hold great expectations as i wasn't fully certain that they could tell me something I didn't already know or hadn't already heard. i was from Connecticut, released from Niantic womans' prison into the custody of a family member, who lived in Vermont. I wasn't remanded to complete a rehab. but in order to start to get my teenage daughter back in my life I agreed to do what they wanted. I never experienced such a verity of approaches to ease the discomfort of withdrawing from these hideous drugs! I was blown away that the curriculum my counselor had designed for me was working. Mostly in that I had fun going about my day with the other patients, people that where "like me" and we picked each other up off the floor when things got hard. Because if You don't find yourself experiencing uncomfortable feelings then you should take a better look at the facility your in!! It takes work , and Maplel Leaf made sure that when we worked hard we relaxed hard too!! Hands down BEST FACILITY YOU COULD EVER BE BLESSED ENOUGH TO BE IN!!! P.S. If Rebecca T reads this, I've been going crazy I lost your number hit me up on Facebook under Rebecca Wilson I've got so much to tell you!! I love you and miss you terribly!!! Rebecca Svatik Wilson

The River Rock program is incredible. The clinicians and staff are knowledgeable, compassionate and passionate about what they do. I attended the IOP program a year ago. My experience there was so impactful on my overall wellbeing. I now work in mental health myself and confidently refer patients their way knowing they will be supported through their mental health and sobriety journey.

I want to add a personal review of River Rock under my name because I’m truly happy of the program and what it has done for my family. I don’t necessarily identify as being an alcoholic but used substances as a way to cope with bad times. Through the intensive outpatient therapy program River Rock provides I was able to gain a clear understanding of how to navigate problems at home. I went through the process a few years ago and then my husband felt compelled (thankfully) to do so after. Since then, we’ve been able to navigate life in a more healthy manner. They use a multi-faceted approach of different therapies including CBT, DBT, life coaching, adventure therapy, group sessions and one-on-one therapy to make sure that people get the help they need! We’ve been able to create a more holistic life that benefits us and use the tools given to get through hard times. We are more connected and practice self care including cold plunges and are building a space to install a sauna at home. Communication is better, my husband has been alcohol free for over a year and a half and we are able to navigate life much better. If you are questioning getting help in any capacity, I would recommend at least reaching out to River Rock. There is no shame in wanting to take steps to achieving a more healthy outlook on life. They have the resources to meet you where you are. With love, Kim.

First of all I got to say I had a very good experience up to this point and hopefully continue a great experience with everyone here in the three months that I have been here. This team has been great and have gone way above and beyond . I also can compare from the clinic in Orlando that I was in beforehand . I agree 100 percent with the comment that the entire system sucks. It sure does but understand that there are federal guidelines they must abide by. Sometimes believe it or not when you screw up the system is not in your favor. However, thankfully I haven't screwed up. I've overcome many obstacles to work the system in my behalf. There is much help from this caring staff when you try on your part. Thank you for going way above and beyond Jen, Robin, Dr. Carteli, Erin, all the beautiful ladies at the front desk, and nurses! Seriously, I could not have come this far without and look forward to your help moving forward. Thank you so much! For everone that's going here have faith on the system but first and foremost have faith in yourself! You can do it and will!

I've had mostly good experiences here, with the practitioners and with the office staff. I have a feeling dissatisfied people write reviews of practitioners and staff than satisfied ones.
I've been a patient for a couple of years now and mainly see psychiatrist Wendy Randall for medication for a life-long sleep/insomnia disorder. She's very understanding and not afraid to prescribe me my needed meds that I've been taking for a very long time and cannot sleep without.
One has to also see a counselor here and Amy , my counselor, is a very good listener for the most part. I tend to miss appointments, especially with Amy, so see/talk with her, via telahealth, only so often . If i saw/talked with her more often perhaps it would help more. I also suffer from a lot of stress and unhappiness due to overwork so it's good to have people to "check in" with
I don't agree at all that the folks at BHSN are prone to call the police or try to have committed to a psychiatric facility. I have admitted many times to feeling extremely and have no one here do that to me. On the other hand they certainly seem to take suicidal ideation seriously . I do feel bad for anyone not getting proper treatment for *serious* potential or likely suicide or not being referred to the right place for them but am not familiar with what is or isn't available in what area and don't know what to suggest
The comments by some about supposed privacy and/or HIPPA violations are certainly concerning & upsetting and I don't know what to make of them. The most recent I see here is from a year ago. I certainly hope that if there was truth to those complaints that they've been seriously addressed and fixed /and any violations ceased !
If you're not happy with either your psychiatrist or counselor here I highly suggest trying another one at the same practice. I wasn't at all happy with the psychiatrist I was originally assigned . She was young (and i am not) and not comfortable prescribing me my all my sleep meds (which I have been taking for decades) I asked to try speaking with an older person and was assigned Wendy and have had no problems with her at all.
Especially considering how often I miss appointments, I find this place, the office staff and the practitioners to be especially tolerant , kind and patient, and in fact moreso than any medical practice I've used since I moved to this area (Wilmington/Northern Adirondacks) over four years ago
It might be ideal if one could call at any time when in need of someone too speak to and I think that service was previously but no longer available
If there weren't so many seemingly unfair negative reviews I'd give a 4 *s since things are seldom completely perfect but I'm giving 5*s to bring the, imo, unfair total score up. If I could call and speak to anyone any time I needed to I would likely feel a 5* review is truly deserved and that my experience with BHSN is near-perfect
