My time at Curran-Seeley is, to date, the most important time in my life. Thanks to their empathetic, kind counselors, and elastic curriculum, I have been able to maintain my sobriety for over 5 years.
The coping tools that Curran-Seeley helped me cultivate have been priceless and crucial to my ongoing success in sobriety. Accepting personal responsibility is hard (which, I suspect is the cause of these lower ratings), but when I finished treatment at Curran-Seeley, I was emotionally stronger, had rediscovered my morals/values, and became a person whose skills and talents have been employed to help others who are struggling.
I owe my life to my time spent with Curran-Seeley.

With my experience so far things can move slowly to start but one the ball is downhill rolling the therapists I’ve worked with so far are understanding and hospitable. I am currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer. Today, my elderly parents accompanied me to my appointment. I was informed that there was parking available on the south side of the building, which is much closer to the chemotherapy clinic. Given that there are times after my treatments when walking becomes extremely difficult, this seemed like the most practical option. However, upon arriving at that entrance, we found it locked, requiring us to be buzzed in. This concept is quite familiar to me, as I work in a building with similar security protocols, but in my case, the building secretary is always prompt in responding. Unfortunately, we waited for a very long time to be let in so long, in fact, that we considered moving to a different entrance to avoid being late for my appointment. It s worth noting that both of my parents are in their 70s, and I, of course, was feeling the anxiety that naturally comes with chemotherapy treatments. When we were finally buzzed in, I spoke to the employee and told her next time she needs to be more prompt. Her response was dismissive, next time you can use the front door. Given that my chemotherapy sessions cost hundred of thousands of dollars, I found this response deeply upsetting. More importantly, it was a stark contrast to the most caring hospital in the world that I had expected. The lack of empathy and professionalism in that interaction was disappointing to say the least. In my view, a more appropriate response would have been a simple apology for the delay and a welcoming invitation to enter. On a positive note, I must express my sincere appreciation for my oncology nurse, who is always efficient, intelligent, and kind. Her professionalism continues to be a source of comfort during this difficult time.

You can travel to the Bear Lake area confident if you need emergency care that you’ll have an amazing option. We were traveling in the Bear Lake area for a family reunion, and I contracted pneumonia. I was admitted to the hospital for two days. The care I got was phenomenal and the nursing staff was so caring and kind. Dr. Reynolds was knowledgeable and professional and did a great job collaborating with me on my care. The facility was very nice for a small town. I can’t say enough good things. Thanks for helping me get better!

I was there in 2019 June and July but I still had voices telling me to stick my head in the river and keep ot there so I went in August too.The first day I was there I couldn't go outside for fresh air, that is one of rules. I really like the arts and crafts time, they even finished my hat for me. The 3rd time (Feb-April 2023) I went they didn't have church ministry anymore because of Covid but I think they have live feeds from a church. The ones that are charged from jail say it's like a 6 week vacation. They have a lot of motivation to keep your bed clean and walking to get snack cart coupons. I want to send the library Luis Palau Movie and Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. They play a lot of Avengers movies or super hero ones.
Heather was a good provider and I had a nice clinician too. I'm trying to think of what they could improve on. In the groups I felt a little vulnerable sharing fears but I liked the saying we're not here to make friends we're here to work on yourself. There was a patient that kept saying he had 7 baby mommas and his grandma took pictures of all of them. I liked having the earphones to listen to music too. Mike rocks!

I was committed by Twin falls county 4 times and Bannock County 1 time to State Hospital South. This was 5 times In a 3 year period. The longest they kept me was 7 weeks even though my family and I both desperately plead with the hospital and courts for more time to get things right. They are over flooded with commitments from all over the state and it's in their interest to keep people moving through even if they require more time to stabilize. Other than this 1 complaint I was always treated with the utmost respect and dignity and I am a chronic pain patient and at the time which was 2009,2010, and 2011 they worked with my home providers to keep my high dosages of opioids going while at the hospital. I realize in today's world they probably would not do the same for me but at the time if I would have been pulled off my methadone and Oxycodone it would have sent me into a further spiral so I'm very thankful that they treated this in a humane manner. I probably would have not returned so many times back to back if I just would have been given more time the first time or second time around. I hope they read this and keep this in mind when rushing patients into discharge. It would have saved the state dept of health and welfare and the courts and my insurance a lot of money to just keep me a little longer the first time. I often waited 30 days sitting in St Luke's Canyon View in Twin Falls after my commitment was official before a bed opened at SHS which just shows you how full they are always kept or was at that time period. I only imagine things have got worse now with so many people from other states moving to Idaho. I live in California now which is my home state and the hospitals here are horrible compared to in Idaho. It's been a long time since I have been in one but my best hospital memories are at State Hospital South. They have a patient library, cafe, completely separate medical clinic for health problems and we were allowed to walk outside in open grounds. They even took us on a activity to go bowling at a local bowling alley in Blackfoot. You have to remember many reviews of mental health facilities are bad but that's what you get when the population they serve are forced into the hospital by legal holds and commitments against their will. I am one of the few ex patients that see my going here as something that saved me from myself at the time. I have a lot of appreciation for the hospital.

As a person who became dependent on medication for chronic pain for many years, I decided it was time to be out from under them. I hadn't worked with anyone on this before, so I was pretty intimidated. No reason! These people treat everyone with respect and decency, without judgement. Not to mention they were able to help me that very day, and helped me to feel so much better immediately! Just a great asset to those of us who are in similar situations, and I would recommend them to anyone trying to rid themselves of the ever growing gorilla on their backs, like me. If they can help me, of all people, they can help you too! Don't wait any longer, go get the life you deserve without the substance/(s) that you think make life easier! Full five star rating! Thank you CMS!

I recently had a teen come here in the summer, in May. I have also had a child come here before, three years ago. Both times were very positive and the staff did very well. They have an excellent Inpatient Program, with different levels of progression that works really well (prudently structured and effective). The meals and facilities are great. The staff that deals directly with Inpatients are very good at what they do. The counseling they offered is by professionals who are outstanding at what they do. A lot of the things learned during the time my teens have been there have stuck with them and they still use that knowledge today--One of our teens went through the YRT program--
I hope to never have to bring another family member again to Inpatient Care. However, if I did, it would be to The Hunstman Mental Institute. They are very good.

Ogden, UT | Action Recovery Group is a treatment center located in Ogden, Utah. Their location north of Salt Lake City provides beautiful sunsets and mountain views. Between treatment sessions you can go camping at Fort Buenaventura Park | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I graduated from Action in September of 2022 and I will be coming up on 4 years sober. Action literally helped save my life. There weren’t a lot of options for a good aftercare program in the Northern Utah area after I got out of rehab and luckily my rehab recommended Action. They are kind and patient yet most importantly they hold you accountable. If others don’t hold you accountable when it comes to your addiction, it is super hard to stay clean and sober. Action is a 12 step program and I know that might not be for some, but don’t let that scare you. You learn so much more than the steps and take things away from the program that you will continue to use as I have to help keep my sobriety. They also have wonderful classes to help family and friends that are affected by their love ones’ addictions. My parents loved going to family group night and it helped them understand more on why I had an addiction problem which made them more effective tools in my recovery. Remember one day at a time, never quit quitting, you are worth it so work it and you are loved and seen. Want your life back? I highly recommend going to Action.

The staff here is awesome and are always so welcoming. They do an amazing job of seeing how you are but at the same time they keep the lines moving right along so you aren’t waiting around forever. However, although they are great people, the place is very unorganized.i will show up for my appts and then they will let someone without an appt jump in that spot, making it so i have to reschedule.happens too often. Not only that, their lab that they use has to be ran by an elementary kid as I’ve been clean awhile now but somehow I test positive multiple times. Makes it hard when you travel for this place and things ALWAYS goes wrong. Again, great people but they have to figure out how to run that place.
