I was a bit nervous at first after reading the reviews but my experience with her was completely different from everyone else. Julia was very understanding, caring, helpful and super informative of my options with dealing with my issues. I would definitely recommend her, especially with situations that may need legal help. If any of my family or friends are struggling with drinking/using I will refer them here. This is a special place. A place that fosters cultivation of real personal growth. I’m currently in their IOP program after graduating residential, and it’s excellent aftercare. This place changed my life. His care team always listened, worked on root causes, helped advocate, and educate us. I feel his care there was superb, and it makes me sad not all VAs in our country have this level of care! I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. My behavior changed and I have been sober for more than eight months. I'm now looking forward to a happy and healthy future. Francisco Cid 2 months ago this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life. nich jepperson 2 months ago

I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life. Claire Isom 3 weeks ago Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. I've been treated with respect and the supportive environment has been vital to my recovery. Everybody working there is there because they want to be. Because they genuinely care and want to help you. There's accountability when I need it without feeling judged. My counselor Caitlin is one of the best people I've ever met. Her warmth makes her easy to talk to. She's so smart and she's great at helping with addiction issues. Whether it's a quick hello or she's checking in with me to see how I'm doing. I have been being treated for grief and separation anxiety of my wife of 37 years. I have been seeing Gabby. She has been so awesome. Easy to talk to, empathetic, and uplifting. Her counciling methods include coping methods that are effective and are practical and work. Her positive attitude is infectious and really helps. I've had the pleasure of meeting and receiving counseling from Julia Murray. I was a bit nervous at first after reading the reviews but my experience with her was completely different from everyone else. Julia was very understanding, caring, helpful and super informative of my options with dealing with my issues. I would definitely recommend her, especially with situations that may need legal help. My only complaint would be that they are only open Monday through Thursday, other than that, she is a great counselor to meet with.

So I just want to leave a review based on such a supportive experience with staff. My daughter has been struggling up an down and all around, n I still am working on her to finally surrender, but I want to give a review on Charles. Charles is amazing, he has called me at 10:30 pm he has dealt with many messages, many I think today might be the day and than not, everyone knows what I talk about if they are familiar with addicts and their thought process and fear. I pray my daughter will finally surrender before it's to late, everyone close to my daughters have been dying left n right and they have lost children due to addiction, my grandchildren are now adopted out, my heart melts in heartbreak and the pain the whole family goes through is endless. So I just want to give a shout out to the amazing team and all their work while not giving up on us. They keep going out of their way to help me Everytime I reach out. Great people! I will forever be grateful for Wasatch Crest. They literally saved my life! They have done for me what I once believed was impossible. They gave me hope of a new life, free from substance abuse and relief from overbearing mental health issues. I personally want to thank both Jim and Nicolette Huffman for not only opening their doors to me within residential treatment, but also for believing in me and not giving up on me. They both really do care, are highly involved and truly develop love for each and every client who is fortunate to admit into the program. Wasatch Crest has one of the best clinical teams I have ever encountered, especially my therapist Rick Buxton CMHC. All of their staff was welcoming, helpful and professional. This was my first time in residential treatment. I’ve struggled with alcohol/addiction for the majority of my life. I found real help here (for my mental health as well). I found real people here. It was honestly some of the best weeks of my life. If any of my family or friends are struggling with drinking/using I will refer them here. This is a special place. A place that fosters cultivation of real personal growth. I’m currently in their IOP program after graduating residential, and it’s excellent aftercare. This place changed my life. Of course it came with challenges; but the environment, culture, and staff here are all great. I’m the one who had to commit to recovery, but this is the place to do it.

If I could leave more stars I would! There were only a few specialty services, such as dental, and some times audiology where we had much of a wait time. Most appointments were scheduled very quickly. I want to say, when my dad went to his appointments, we were NEVER rushed. We would sometimes have 2 1/2 hour appointments! His care team always listened, worked on root causes, helped advocate, and educate us. I feel his care there was superb, and it makes me sad not all VAs in our country have this level of care! Their teams are highly appreciated by us.

I've learned a lot from Odyssey my favorite assignment was the thinking errors it really helped me see them in myself and has taught me to grow. I recommend this program to anybody still in there addiction most say I won't do that snitching program. But it really ain't like that all it teaches accountability and how to hold your peers accountable. It also shows you how to express your emotions using the encounter process. My experience with the Odyssey House of Utah was life changing. I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. My behavior changed and I have been sober for more than eight months. I'm now looking forward to a happy and healthy future.

this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life.

Brighton does lean heavily into AA, which is definitely not for everyone (it never was for me), but I wouldn't change my experience for anything.

My overall experience at Brighton was amazing, I'm so deeply grateful for everyone at the South Ogden location. The staff and residents have cultivated an environment that truly supports growth and I left feeling deeply fulfilled. I went in with the mindset "I have to get sober" and left with "I get to be sober." They showed me life can be enjoyed, just just endured. Not white knuckling my way every second of my life. For anyone considering this step, you truly get out what you put in. If you come in surrendered, open, and willing to accept the process, the reward is life changing, I promise with all my heart. Taking that step requires immense vulnerability, but at Brighton, that vulnerability is matched by a team that genuinely cares. The head nurse, Siobhan, was a true blessing, my therapist Shawn was amazing, and the technician staff were all fantastic. It is so important to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their work, and that is exactly what I felt every day. I really appreciated the balanced program they offer combining deep group therapy and individual one-on-one sessions with holistic activities like spirituality, exercise, art, and outdoor time. While there were a few days where communication felt a little disconnected, the team overall stayed completely on top of the program and delivered a remarkably strong experience. I’m sharing this because deciding to enter recovery can be terrifying. I hope my experience can be a beacon of hope for someone else standing on the edge of that choice... Take the leap. As far as inpatient goes, I would basically only recommend this facility. I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life.

Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. Huntsman Mental Health along with friend & family support, really worked for us!

I joined a group for 5 weeks and enjoyed every moment. I was made aware of the course by 2 family members in the mental health field. I occasionally was having anxiety episodes that led me to the emergency room with a heart concern. On a couple of occasions it turned into a panic attack. With the information presented to me in the classes I feel I have the tools required to help me before it gets to that point again. I have shared my experiences with a number of friends and they have commented that it could be a good fit for them as well. I still can't say enough good about this location and the wonderful staff here. So much good can happen w the right attitude and accepting the help this place can offer. Money wasn't an issue, I paid out of pocket to start and they helped me get on benefits to ease the costs. But at no time did they turn me away for any reason. I am so grateful for these folks and the assistance they provide time and time again. They really do care so if you are living so hard and feel like no one cares give these places a chance and get help. Totally worth it. 2 years later, still a great resource that likely saved my life. It's worth it call them!

I have a 4 star honest rating! No one is perfect especially in the recovery addiction business. But these guys actually care. They care about you your health. You deal with a counselor Kevin he’s a 5 star counselor! Definitely cares and knows a little about what he’s doing! Definitely a blessed man indeed! The doc doesn’t know a whole lot about addiction because he came from pediatrics so Kevin fills in well! If you’re struggling and need help go to this clinic? She offers good ideas and support and she helped me find a grief clinic to help me with my grief after my mom passed away from Alzheimer's. Amethyst Center for Healing, and Jana Fulmer changed my life. As a trans person recovering from trauma, this was a safe haven that is irreplaceable. I was given space and tools to start discovering more about myself and how to grow when in a place of pain. I also really respect what they do— not only working with victims of violence but those who have hurt others. This reparative justice ethos is inspiring and part of a future that focuses on rehabilitation not punitive systems. I’m so much happier with my life, and a lot of that has to do with the empowerment and trust I was given at Amethyst to start making decisions in my life that were more focused and less reactionary. Jana showed true care and empathy towards me, and helped me feel supported and valued. I can’t recommend enough!

My experience at Haven Inpatient Treatment truly changed my life. When I came in, I was at one of my lowest points. I felt lost, broken, and unsure if I could ever get my life back together. The staff here didn’t just treat my addiction ,they treated me like a person who mattered. Because of Haven, I was able to rebuild myself from the inside out. They helped me realize that I am worth it. They gave me the tools, support, and accountability I needed to stay clean and make better choices. Today, my life looks completely different. I have my kids back in my life, I’ve reunited with my family, and I’m present in ways I never was before. I can honestly say my life is so much better without drugs. UPDATE: unfortunately it's been a couple years and still on the methadone but that's because of other issues and my body needing long relief from pain, with that being said i just wanted to thank Mary and Dr Stephen for treating me as a patient and working outside of the addiction side of treatment and willing to work with the recommendations from my personal Dr's, i seriously can't express how compassionate you all have been and treat me with the upmost respect, anyone truly looking for the right place for help look no further CTC of Layton and all there people really do care. I've been on methadone before and tried getting off it cold turkey and if I can give any advice don't! Be patient and do it slow by tappering and just trust the program, I went two months in complete hell withdrawing that was beyond fun, I tried going to my original clinic but they couldn't take new patients so I came here, Mary is my counselor and she made me feel very respected and she was extremely caring and listened and just made the whole process very easy, I highly recommend this clinic if you are struggling and need help, utah is extremely hard getting this kind of help and its hard finding people who actually care and listen, dr Stephen is also very compassionate and listen as well, thanks for all your help I feel my life already getting back on track.

This is a safe place to go for help. The counselors, nurses, reception, the doctor and even the other patients are wonderful. I've been coming here for over 6 months. I've been treated with respect and the supportive environment has been vital to my recovery. Everybody working there is there because they want to be. Because they genuinely care and want to help you. There's accountability when I need it without feeling judged. My counselor Caitlin is one of the best people I've ever met. Her warmth makes her easy to talk to. She's so smart and she's great at helping with addiction issues. Whether it's a quick hello or she's checking in with me to see how I'm doing. I always look forward to seeing her when I come in to dose.

I'm about to graduate their IOP program on August 10th. I've struggled with addiction since I was 8 yrs old and this is the first time I have ever felt hope. I'm three months sober, and I cannot say enough positive things about Cold Creek. It's changed my life. They've help me arm myself with a relapse cycle, recovery contract, group therapy, individual therapy, and EMDR therapy that has helped me tremendously with my childhood trauma.
