Well , Ive been home for a week now and doing good . I wanted to let the staff , ALL of them , know that my family and i are VERY thankful for the help and education Akua has given to me. My therapist Laura and counselor Dylan are AMAZING and there for me before i even knew i needed them. The other counselors/case managers , teachers etc Aubrey , Sherrie,Jannelle all were available to me and im so grateful. There were unfortunately a few times i was in a “situation “ with another client. They treated me with respect and absolutely supported me . Their support straitened it all out and they really listened to what i was saying . Of course i know i cant begin to try and name all the staff members but i do thank them. Not as easy as it may appear. Cindy,Riccara ,Taylor, Shelia, Monica,Misti, Kristen ,Marianna,Emily, Darrian ,Cherry,Calissie, Deja ( im sorry im bad with names ) and the night time people that kept me safe through the night. . If i forgot you , forgive me I APPRECIATE ALL of you . There are a lot of you and my brain was a lil mushy when i got there 🤪 I’ts much better now . I just need you all to know that as a team you all contributed to my recovery and helped push my miracle along. Of course Chelsea. Thank you for hearing me even when you didn’t really know me. I definitely learned a lot education wise. The counselor’s case manager’s therapist they played a huge huge part. I don’t know how I would’ve made it without their support ,all of them. I didn’t feel like I was only Dylan and Lauras client, not gonna lie it was nice being only one of two . But when they weren’t there, I absolutely can’t explain how AMAZING each of them if I needed sometimes when I didn’t even know I needed them. They would always ask how I am. Treat me with respect and if I needed them, they were there for me. I realize that there were times when we weren’t able to go to outside me, but when we were, it was greatly appreciated. II’ve been to six meetings since Wednesday. I’m also in Service and so many people that just love me I know relapse is part of people stories sometimes but I thank God so much unfortunate to have another chance.. and oh my gosh I don’t know. I’m sure I’m forgetting somebody. i’m super sorry if I left your name out I think you all should get a shout out. Chef too. :-) . It was super nice to have meaningful conversations with most of the other clients. Some not so much. Lol But , what are you gonna do when there’s 18 women living in one place ?Not the easiest to do . Humans will make mistakes and bad decisions and that’s why I was there. We all had one VERY important reason for being at Akua. To save our lives ! ❤️ Thanks ❤️
