Looking back at my time at BRC, I was met with 1 on 1 therapy, group processing, while being held accountable. I learned how to get honest and vulnerable with the help of the staff there. BRC played a pivotal role in helping me build a foundation for my life while healing from my past. So that I could move forward and live life on life’s terms. I love that THEY OFFER GRANTS that cover all or most of your treatment. Focus is definitely not on counseling here, and your experience can vary pretty widely depending on who you get. I'm currently on a by-the-book stickler counselor, but they never last long so hopefully my next one will be better. I think I've had 5+ counselors I've gone through in less than a year because they come and go so quickly. Dr. Archibald tends to be less than sympathetic to addicts. I'm not sure why people like that work in these places but I guess maybe they start wanting to help then get jaded. One good thing about him though is that he'll prescribe narcotics like Xanax and Adderall on top of the Methadone if you play your cards right. Counselors knew where to take me and were non-judgemental. As far as my treatment went for my Ed I would recommend Magnolia Creek. Yes, there were some kinks in the program but I don’t think there is a facility that is going to be flawless. Staff was great, there were a couple of staff members that are just young and not mature for the job. Primary Therapist, Maria is awesome & truly cares. Nurse staff was awesome. There were major kinks in making sure correct meals were given but if this was pointed out to staff counselors the staff made sure it was corrected & correct foods were given to clients. Staff counselors are great it’s awkward being watched going to the bathroom and taking a showers but the staff was usually respectful of clients. Sadly monies are not given to help fund eating disorders treatment centers & more awareness is not out there for families about Ed’s. I would recommend this Magnolia Creek treatment center. Thank you. 6 years ago I had lost hope when I first came here. But then I found a community that walked along with me during my recovery and have become my strength to remain sober. I went to the emergency room and was treated as expected and fair. Got seen, got admitted. I ended up being there two days. They took very good care of me the entire time. There were times where I had to wait a few hours but it is a busy hospital and It's not like I was dying lol. I got the test needed done, they told me the plan and set up everything I needed to know to go forward. Really had a good experience. When I returned to do my follow up everyone was super nice and directed me where I needed to be. Gary Mollengarden, and John Issis are very helpful, communicate very effectively. Detail all options and tell you what they want to see and what they think is best. Great hospital.
