Birmingham Recovery Center provided a space for me to heal mentally, physically, and spiritually during this season in my life. Looking back at my time at BRC, I was met with 1 on 1 therapy, group processing, while being held accountable. I learned how to get honest and vulnerable with the help of the staff there. BRC played a pivotal role in helping me build a foundation for my life while healing from my past. So that I could move forward and live life on life’s terms. I’m beyond grateful for all the staff at BRC, they helped me in more ways than I could ever count. I’ll recommend BRC to whoever God puts in my path that’s looking for a new way of life. We relocated from another state and Bessemer VA was quick to schedule appointment for my husband as well as insure additional appointments were arranged for additional specialty clinics. We were very impressed with the provider as well as the staff. We appreciated their efficiency as well as their caring attitudes. Made this part of our relocation a relief. I learned those are people who are there to help you and they are actually very serious about health and recovery. Now I am a happy, functioning, productive member of society. Counselors knew where to take me and were non-judgemental. Everyone acts as if you are the only client because they give you their full attention (and there is a lot of people coming really)

Nurses/front desk/dosing staff are great, really sweet people who treat you like you're human. I love that THEY OFFER GRANTS that cover all or most of your treatment.
Focus is definitely not on counseling here, and your experience can vary pretty widely depending on who you get. I'm currently on a by-the-book stickler counselor, but they never last long so hopefully my next one will be better. I think I've had 5+ counselors I've gone through in less than a year because they come and go so quickly.
Dr. Archibald tends to be less than sympathetic to addicts. I'm not sure why people like that work in these places but I guess maybe they start wanting to help then get jaded. One good thing about him though is that he'll prescribe narcotics like Xanax and Adderall on top of the Methadone if you play your cards right.

I had never been to a treatment center before & have nothing too compare Magnolia Creek too. As far as my treatment went for my Ed I would recommend Magnolia Creek. Yes, there were some kinks in the program but I don’t think there is a facility that is going to be flawless. Staff was great, there were a couple of staff members that are just young and not mature for the job. Primary Therapist, Maria is awesome & truly cares. Nurse staff was awesome. There were major kinks in making sure correct meals were given but if this was pointed out to staff counselors the staff made sure it was corrected & correct foods were given to clients. Staff counselors are great it’s awkward being watched going to the bathroom and taking a showers but the staff was usually respectful of clients. Sadly monies are not given to help fund eating disorders treatment centers & more awareness is not out there for families about Ed’s. I would recommend this Magnolia Creek treatment center. Friendship happens the moment I realize I’m not the only one. I showed up at Turning Point believing the lies of fear and shame, alone and ready to get it over with. But God showed up every day in the words and actions of the instructors and other residents who were also bent but not broken. Turning Point surprised me with grace and prepared me for a more disciplined life of service and recovery. 90 days at Turning Point gave me a future and a hope.

Tremaine and the man with him were the most pleasant and professional people I have dealt with in a long time. Excellent service when applied via therapy. Workers come and go due to the current times and economy which is understandable. Very detailed and empathetic individuals who look after those in need. Primarily treat the root issues of trauma that others overlook. My only recommendation would that helped me in the military are therapy dogs.

When you think there is no place to go or turn to there is! Just breath and bring in the stuff you need. They are there for you. It take time to get to where they need you to be. Wait time sometimes long to see a Dr. Who can get you on Medical needs. You can call to make an earlier appointment to see the therapist or even leave a message for them.. They return your call promptly. I can't say how graceful I am to have them on my side to make me; me again. Thank you for believing in who I am and for what my brain injuries make me with out medical treatment.

I have had several minor procedures, an emergency to the ER with was Afib- diagnosed & successfully treated here & 2skin grafts. The medical staff was wonderful & caring. The only complaint plant I have had has been the food. It’s the worst I’ve ever had!
