I was struck by how clean and well-maintained the building was — it’s clear that the team takes pride in providing a welcoming, respectful environment for clients and their families. The staff here are not only highly knowledgeable but also genuinely care about the people they serve. You can tell they’re well-trained and deeply committed to helping individuals through what are often very difficult times. The admissions process was handled with compassion and professionalism. The team made things as smooth and stress-free as possible, taking the time to listen and offer support without judgment. I also learned that the facility is under new ownership, and the changes seem to be making a real difference. There’s a fresh sense of direction and purpose throughout the organization that’s very encouraging. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone seeking behavioral health services — whether for themselves or a loved one. The people, the place, and the care provided are all top-notch.

Watching a loved one struggle with addiction feels like being trapped. Families feel helpless, scared, and utterly exhausted. From the moment we first called Arista Recovery, that feeling began to change. What sets Arista apart isn't just their incredible care for the client, but their genuine commitment to healing the entire family. We were never treated as an afterthought. The staff provided us with education, therapy, and, most importantly, hope. We learned that we weren't alone and that recovery is a journey that a family must travel together. The staff, from the admissions team to the therapists, are some of the most compassionate and dedicated professionals we have ever encountered. Arista Recovery provides more than just treatment for our loved one, they provide an opportunity for the entire family to heal.

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Arista Recovery Ohio works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

During initial recovery, withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines can involve high health risk. Attempting detox outside of 24-hour clinical care in Ohio is not recommended. This can be life-threatening because medical staff are not available to treat severe symptoms of withdrawal that often occur. Such symptoms can include seizures, delirium tremens, and extreme dehydration. In a clinical setting, staff are on-site to immediately care for your physical, emotional, and mental health needs.

Medical detox involves clearing your body of drugs and/or alcohol under the 24/7 care of licensed medical professionals. If you've become dependent on alcohol or drugs (like benzodiazepines or opioids), quitting abruptly can have uncomfortable and even dangerous side effects. The purpose of medically assisted detox is to keep you as safe and comfortable as possible during this process. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be provided if necessary to mitigate any withdrawal symptoms.

Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.

Many treatment centers base their recovery models on the 12 step programming standard, which combines intensive peer support with spiritual, psychological, and emotional growth. Participants in 12 step recovery programs are expected to regularly attend group meetings, which are free, anonymous, peer-led, and open to the public. They are also required to select a sponsor to guide them through the recovery journey. These programs deploy spiritual principles to foster participants' self-understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability.

Rehab aftercare programs are designed to ensure clients receive continuing care while in the maintenance phase of recovery. Some clients may be in outpatient treatment, which is generally considered to be an element of drug rehab aftercare. The specific services provided in these programs are often determined by the client's case manager and care team in consultation with the client. Common services include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.

When in-person visits aren't feasible, telehealth in Ohio can allow you to get the support you need remotely. Telehealth services are provided via text messaging, video conferencing, or other telecommunication technology, so you can access care from anywhere.

Intervention services help family members prepare for a drug intervention in Ohio. During an intervention, family members typically read letters they have prepared that explain how the individual's substance abuse has affected their lives and relationships. Each family member also explains what they will do if the individual does not agree to get treatment. An intervention specialist offers support to guide this discussion and makes appropriate treatment recommendations.

Treatments

An alcohol use disorder (AUD), also commonly called alcoholism, can range from mild to severe. It involves compulsive consumption of alcohol and maladaptive patterns of drinking that lead to negative physical, social, and relational consequences. Diverse treatment programs are available for people with AUD. Mutual-support groups, medications, and behavioral treatments are provided through alcohol rehab in Ohio. If co-occurring disorders are present, it is important to receive treatment for both disorders.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Ohio's substance abuse treatment programs can support individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use. Typically available on an outpatient or inpatient basis, these programs employ evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and holistic approaches to provide effective addiction treatment. This comprehensive approach ensures long-term sobriety, improved mental health, and coping skills to overcome risk of relapse.

In Ohio, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer outpatient, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and intensive outpatient options. Treatment usually includes a thorough mental health assessment, tailored treatment plan, various types of therapy, and education to equip you with the tools to achieve and maintain your sobriety.

Treatment for drug and alcohol addiction addresses both the physical and the mental health impacts caused by a consistent supply of addictive substances. When addressing both an addiction and a mental health disorder simultaneously, a dual diagnosis treatment center is required. Staff are certified to deal with these complex conditions and equipped to deal with mental health emergencies that may occur.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

The main goals of dialectical behavior therapy are to teach you how to regulate your emotions, develop positive ways to cope with stress, improve your relationships, and live in the moment. This therapy lasts about six months and involves weekly individual and group sessions.

Participants of group therapy sessions typically learn coping skills, communication techniques, and relapse prevention strategies. This unique set of skills helps you to navigate the challenges you find in the community and supports your long term sobriety.

Individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction treatment gives you a safe space to discuss your emotional, mental, and physical challenges. Your therapist will guide and support you as you collaborate to develop personalized strategies to manage your stress and navigate the challenges of your recovery.

Life skills provide stability. They increase the strengths that you bring to recovery by equipping you with the tools you need to navigate daily life. During rehab, you'll develop these strengths through life skills training that focuses on both cognitive and behavioral abilities.

Therapists who apply motivational interviewing in Ohio don't try to confront clients or force advice onto them. Instead, they listen and come alongside clients to help them explore why and how they might decide to make changes for themselves.

With trauma therapy, you can reclaim your life after witnessing or experiencing a traumatic event. Therapists help you process the memories, which promotes emotional healing and enables you to build resilience to navigate future challenges and triggers.

I stayed here September 8th-October 11th 2023 when it was called Evoke Wellness. I have a PTSD and bipolar diagnosis, and they were one of the few treatment centers in the Midwest that could take my insurance during a mental health emergency. When I was there, I was coming down from mania, and obviously hated pretty much every second I was there. However, it was the slow down and forced reset that my brain needed. What else was there to do but sit with myself and think about it? All my obligations and most distractions were cut off. 3 years later and no relapses, I see this visit as the best thing I could have ever done for myself. The staff were all pleasant. I remember my therapists Misch and Chelsie. Both were so sweet and compassionate. John came to pick me up at a meeting point when my family couldn't complete my entire trip to Ohio, and his patience when I was asking him for my items I never even packed... Mandy was also amazing, she recognized that I was distressed about a delayed discharge to a step down facility, and got on the phone to get me out the door that day. Everybody here truly does want the best for the patients, even though it was hard to feel that way when I was in the middle of it. The facility was clean. Food was yummy, albeit fattening. I gained 15 pounds here lmao. I made some good friends here. I still follow some on socials and keep the notes they gave me while I was here. Thank you for the work you do. To anyone reading this who is looking at treatment and feeling scared: healing is hard and lonely work, but it's necessary. It does get better but it all depends on your effort, and you can do hard things. You got this.

I've been here when it was Evoke Wellness. Some crazy memories from that place!! Some fantastic, some were terrible. I hope it hasn't changed too much since ownership changed. And as many reviews say, the food was otherworldly🤣.

Response from the owner

My son was recently a client at Arista Recovery in Hilliard. I have a few issues with the integrity of the staff and director there. • My son was housed in an unheated room (??) so I attempted to ship him a space heater from Amazon. Amazon delivery states that it was "handed directly to a receptionist or someone at a front desk". My son never received it and when he inquired was told that it wasn't in the shipment, and he asked that the security tapes be reviewed. The director, Rachel Costello, reported that she was the one who opened the shipment and it just wasn't there. I have ordered items for years with Amazon and while items could possibly be stolen if left in an entryway, it is impossible that it was handed to someone and then disappeared. • In this same vein of lack of integrity, my son had to leave the facility for a court date. He had arrived with a suitcase full of clothing and items on hangers including a winter coat, jackets, pull overs, hoodies, shirts, underwear, socks, and pants (because he came from sober living and couldn't leave his property behind). I alerted Arista that same day that his court date resulted in a 30 day incarceration so I would be there to pick up his items within the week. By the time I went to the facility, all of his clothing was gone except for a few tee shirts, and one hoodie. Rachel asked for receipts for the missing items and I was only able to provide receipts for items that had been ordered online and these totaled over $700 alone. I no longer have receipts for store bought items or have access to receipts for things my son bought himself, but this is thousands of dollars. After much back and forth, Rachel just said they weren't responsible and wouldn't be providing compensation. At no time did she try and recover the items that were my son's from the residents or staff that had stolen them. Just like the space heater, they disappeared. While I can't speak to the recovery treatment provided, I do believe that lax security, lack of concern, and failure to take responsibility or accountability shows a distinct lack of respect for the clients.

I’ve been to a few places on my recovery journey and this is by far the worst. It’s essentially a homeless shelter for people with Medicaid. When I left the building to go to court they allowed the clients to steal all my clothes. All my earthly belongings and then refused to do ANYTHING about it. Everyone you talk to here passes you to the next person so you’re now their problem. For example I was told by the DIRECTOR to do the very tedious and nearly impossible task of collecting receipts for all my missing clothes (which who has that? They were just hoping I couldn’t) and when I came up with $700 worth of receipts, which isn’t even half of what was taken, they said sorry can’t help. Too bad so sad. They do room searches for drugs but wouldn’t even search my roommate (who I gave socks to because he said he just did 25 years in prison… and as a result HAD NO CLOTHES), who was obviously the prime suspect. There’s not enough food, You can’t bring your own. Everything’s falling apart. Constant fights. And an environment that feels more like a jail than a “recovery institute”. I have proof for all this btw so I can’t wait to see what they try and respond to this review. I have receipts. Literally. Also they bully clients into writing five star reviews before they let them walk out the door so believe none of these five star reviews.
