Telehealth can be defined as the facilitation of health-related services using digital communications technology. Examples include mobile health apps, remote patient monitoring, and live video conferencing. These options offer benefits such as convenience, cost-savings, and increased provider options.

Treatments

In Mississippi, substance abuse treatment is available in inpatient and outpatient rehabs. These facilities can treat a range of substance use disorders and even co-occurring mental health challenges, in dual-diagnosis treatment programs. These programs involve an assessment with an addiction expert, personalized treatment plan, and evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). By addressing the underlying issues contributing to addiction, you'll leave treatment with the skills to sustain your recovery.

Dual-diagnosis addiction treatment is the best option if you need assistance with both substance abuse and mental health disorders. In order to find success in recovery, it is essential to address both disorders simultaneously and under the same roof. Personalized treatment plans are created by mental health therapists upon admission to these specialized programs. These plans may include evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and experiential therapy.

In Mississippi, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs have the expertise to treat individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Their inpatient and outpatient rehab programs offer individual and group therapy, medication-assisted treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, and other trauma-informed care, and skills training to address both disorders and equip you with the skills to maintain your recovery.

Very disappointed with how I was treated by a staff member named Aubrey. I explained that I was dealing with grief and struggling with sleep, which is why I missed new patient paperwork sent early that morning. Instead of showing compassion, I felt dismissed and spoken to with an attitude. A mental health clinic should treat patients with more empathy and understanding. Hours after this review ** I left an honest review based on my experience, and Bobby Scott personally called me trying to pressure me into taking it down because he said it was making the business look bad. During the call, he stated that HIPAA no longer applied to me because of my review, which made me extremely uncomfortable. As a mental health clinic, I expected professionalism, respect, and better handling of patient concerns.

Response from the owner
First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest empathy for the grief and sleeplessness you are currently navigating. Dealing with loss is incredibly heavy, and a mental health clinic should always be a place of safety, patience, and profound understanding.

We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our clinic left you feeling dismissed and unsupported, especially during such a difficult time in your life. Our goal is always to treat every individual with compassion, respect, and professionalism, and we regret that this was not your experience.

Because we value patient confidentiality and privacy, we cannot discuss any details publicly due to HIPAA however, your post does allow us to respond to your concerns without violating HIPAA. That was what I attempted to communicate to you by phone. We are sorry for the misunderstanding. To be completely clear: HIPAA privacy regulations absolutely still apply to you. Protecting your confidentiality remains our strict legal and ethical duty, regardless of any public feedback, and we are deeply sorry that this conversation left you feeling pressured or uncomfortable

We sincerely wish you the best and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

I would definitely say that my first visit was setting up my appointment. That receptionist is one of the most kind hearted people I’ve ever met. We were on the phone for almost an hour and she was so caring and kind. She even made me feel better about my situation and had never met me in person or talked to me before. This office absolutely has to keep her. I love my therapists but she the one I’m most excited to see at every visit. She makes the thought of therapy not seem so frightening and she’s very welcoming. It was like we knew each other for years and were catching up with each other. I don’t know her personally but she definitely a friend at heart and I don’t think she can help it. Marcy or Marcie please stay because if you leave I’m not coming back. I’m kidding…Matt and Bobby are awesome too!

Response from the owner
Thank you so much Jessica. Marcie is awesome and we certainly plan to keep her. So glad you had such a great experience. We want all of our clients to feel this way. It is indeed often a hard thing to walk into a new office when we are struggling. Thank. you again for trusting us.

This was by far thee worst place I've ever been to. They couldn't figure out how bill me properly despite me trying to my best to afford the costs myself. I'm on disability and informed them countless times that I'm not rich enough. I have PPO insurance through the government and was supposed to have free teleheath sessions. After exhausting myself trying to work with them they still kept calling me over and over again that I have to pay and help THEM with my insurance. Ben Piercy was thee most disrespectful therapist that I've ever had... I wasn't allowed to even eat or drink, in my own home, when doing teleheath sessions. I complained to the owners and they didn't even care enough to show compassion and understanding. I was simply told that those are his rules. Ben seemed really nice and caring at first however quickly became toxic to me that I had to storm out of a session. I was too afraid to come back anymore. After my last call with them; begging me to help them pay to my insurance and collect my fee of 2k; that I told them I couldn't help them any more and to send it to collections. Which they eventually did and now I received a threatening letter from collections stating that if I don't pay now they will screw up my great credit that I spent years and years getting it back to good! I cannot, unfortunately, in my good state of mind, give them even more than one star. And I cannot, for the life of me, recommend them to anyone in the future!

Response from the owner
Thank you for your feedback. I was apprised of your case throughout its entirety and must say that I know that we did everything we could to help you financially and clinically. The fact is that you changed insurance plans several times during your treatment and were repeatedly asked for your new insurance card in order to file the claims. You never gave us that information so we could file the claims. As far as the Telehealth sessions and your eating and drinking in sessions, we have boundaries for our patients so that we make the very best of the time and encourage everyone’s full attention so that we can all be productive. We don’t allow our clients to eat during their face to face sessions. We have documentation that shows that our staff tried to work with you on the financial piece and you hung up on them. Ben Piercy, as do all of our providers, shows all clients respect and compassion. Setting boundaries on issues like Telehealth sessions is beneficial and necessary to insure progress toward therapeutic goals.
