I’ve guest dosed at many clinics and they treat you like garbage. This clinic was the complete opposite. They were kind and I was in and out in 20 minutes. Definitely guest dose here if you can!

I’ve stayed here twice. It really is a good place to be when your in distress. Nowhere is perfect but they helped me. If I ever need to be hospitalized again I’d go here. I’d recommend it to my family and friends if they needed help. The last time I was there I was in icu psychosis from being on a ventilator for a week. At first I was hallucinating so bad I thought I was a hostage. They were really patient with me when I didn’t even know where I was and kept trying to leave. With the right medications and some time I got back to normal. The food is good. The staff has to deal with all kinds of people and they do a good job. I give it 4 stars because like I said nowhere’s perfect. No psyc hospital anyway.

I was transferred from hell called MS State hospital to here in October of 2009. My stay lasted until June of 2010. I walked I and thought this place was going to be like the rest. I was wrong. This place saved my life. The third shift were loud and obnoxious and a few of the first and second shift staff were, in my opnion, not meant to be there. The therapist, phychiatrist, "the board", and everything else was different. Most of the people there would go out of there way to help you. The one on one time, walking around outside talking to a trusted staff member, the nurses were amazing and patient, especially Nurse Scott. They helped me obtain my GED. If this place is still the same as is was when I was there, I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I wish they had an adult facility because I need the care this place gave me as a teenager. Plus the food was decent too. They made the place feel somewhat like a home than just a facility, which made treatment easier.

We typically don't remember what people say or do most of the time … but WE WILL REMEMBER how someone makes US FEEL. Townsend has made feel nothing BUT welcomed and loved. I am truly grateful that I had the opportunity to start and finish my recovery there. The staff is not just staff, this place provided a family I never had. They welcome you with open arms. Im astounded by my growth. I went from homeless to happy. I highly recommend this facility if you want change. This team changed my life. Stina was one of the most phenomenal therapiat and human beings I've ever met. She created safety for me to do the work. Brooke is an astounding cook and gets the job done. Allysa the case manager took me where I needed to go. Tray and Blake got me to my outside meetings. Nurse Faith and Megan made me feel welcomed and loved. Damn this place is good. It do what it do.

A stable suicidal veteran referred by the VA MH Unit arrived on 11/9/25. I wanted change in my life, your place helped clear my head, learned to love myself. I was broken w/ Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and Alcohol substance use disorder. This place tore my walls down, I no longer isolated. I worked the program, I listened and learned to ALL the professional Staff here. I became a miracle and it works if YOU let it. On Dec. 24th I completed my 1st ever program. Mixed Experience – Amazing Staff, Poor Facility I recently spent time at this mental health hospital, and while my overall experience was a mixed bag, one thing which stood out above everything else was the staff. Particularly one of the Techs named Mason. Let’s start with the downside. The facility itself is in desperate need of updates. The environment felt more institutional than therapeutic — fluorescent lighting, peeling paint, and a general sense of neglect. Some of the common areas felt cramped and outdated, and there were moments where basic supplies or comfort items were in short supply. For a place meant to promote healing, the physical space sometimes felt more discouraging than supportive. That said, the staff truly made all the difference. Despite working with limited resources, they showed compassion, patience, and a real commitment to helping patients feel seen and safe. Mason, in particular, stood out as a rare kind of person — calm under pressure, attentive without being overbearing, and able to bring humor and warmth to even the hardest moments. He always showed up with a smile and great energy, and I continually saw him go out of his way in order to help anyone he could. He treated everyone with respect and genuine kindness, which made a lasting impact on me and I'm sure many others. While I can't say I’d recommend the facility based on the building alone, I would absolutely vouch for the people who work there. If the management ever invests in upgrading the space to match the quality of care being delivered, it could become a truly exceptional place.

I write this review after having a horrific experience at Oceans’s Behavioral Health in Hammond in July of 2023. (I encourage you to read my review for them before allowing your dementia family member go there!) When my dad was sent again to geriatric psych at Lakeview, I was scared we were about to experience the same thing again, especially after seeing the reviews on here! However, our experience at Lakeview was completely different. My dad spent 4 weeks at Lakeview over the Christmas holidays and beyond. I was able to visit him between 3:30 and 4:30 everyday. The facility was very clean and simply resembled a hospital setting. I was escorted to his room each day but was able to puts eyes on other patients, the group room, the nursing station, etc. while there. The doors to patient rooms were open and I never saw anything disturbing or anyone tied to a bed as one lady who left a review wondered about. I never heard any shouting or yelling by staff or patients. It simply just reminded me of a normal hospital setting. I visited my dad almost every single day during his four weeks there. In those visits, I often checked my dad’s body for marks and gauged how he felt about the staff that often dropped in to say hello when I was there. My dad seemed clean, generally content, awake and aware, chatty and friendly with the staff. Everyone who interacted with he and I were very kind. Kianti (Tay) who escorted me daily was the sweetest gentleman and my dad really enjoyed him. Overall, I was pleased with the care he received. As a caregiver to a Dementia patient with behavioral issues it’s tough to be their advocate and protect them. I would allow my dad to go back to Lakeview if the need arises. I hope this review helps someone else.

Went to the ER feeling like garbage. The staff was nothing short of incredible. From registration, triage, phlebotomy, nurse and NP, every single person provided a genuine approach to making me feel better. They were personable, skilled, and they even made me laugh a few times.
