Thank you for all that you do for us. Every time I visit the VA, I’m treated with a level of care and respect that humbles me. I’m welcomed, listened to, and cared for in ways I don’t feel deserving of, yet the staff consistently go above and beyond. Note, this review is only for the mental health buildings 19 and 25. I agree with others that the main hospital gets mixed results. Patient advocate's office is your friend for reporting incidents. I'm an Army veteran with two deployments. I came here for a 30-day residential program to get my PTSD under control. To any veteran reading this: it truly works, if you do. The medical staff was incredible—from the counselors and psychiatrists to the amazing nurses. They stabilized me, got my medications squared away, and then we did the CPT work that really brought the healing: but you have to want it and work hard for it. The other veterans in our groups were a huge part of it too. We all shared very similar symptoms, and that does something powerful—you instantly feel like you belong and you're not fighting this alone. My family noticed the difference by the 10th day. I thank God for sending me here, and the only thing I regret is waiting so long. If you’re a veteran fighting alone--feeling angry, numb, or isolating yourself from the world, then consider giving this place a try. Walking through the door may be the hardest step (incredibly hard, honestly), but it might also change your life the way it changed mine.

I’ve stayed here twice. It really is a good place to be when your in distress. Nowhere is perfect but they helped me. If I ever need to be hospitalized again I’d go here. I’d recommend it to my family and friends if they needed help. The last time I was there I was in icu psychosis from being on a ventilator for a week. At first I was hallucinating so bad I thought I was a hostage. They were really patient with me when I didn’t even know where I was and kept trying to leave. With the right medications and some time I got back to normal. The food is good. The staff has to deal with all kinds of people and they do a good job. I give it 4 stars because like I said nowhere’s perfect. No psyc hospital anyway.

My son was in psychosis and transported here 10 days ago. He was a mess! We picked him up today and he was smiling and happy and ready to do the work to stay mentally healthy! I was transferred from hell called MS State hospital to here in October of 2009. My stay lasted until June of 2010. I walked I and thought this place was going to be like the rest. I was wrong. This place saved my life. The third shift were loud and obnoxious and a few of the first and second shift staff were, in my opnion, not meant to be there. The therapist, phychiatrist, "the board", and everything else was different. Most of the people there would go out of there way to help you. The one on one time, walking around outside talking to a trusted staff member, the nurses were amazing and patient, especially Nurse Scott. They helped me obtain my GED. If this place is still the same as is was when I was there, I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I wish they had an adult facility because I need the care this place gave me as a teenager. Plus the food was decent too. They made the place feel somewhat like a home than just a facility, which made treatment easier.

(if you could even call the 1st that) and just by the level of care, commitment, compassion shown, and individual concern shown by each and every one of the members at NOLA DETOX, ALL of whom go above and beyond for every single patient and/or resident that comes into their care. Words alone, just simply cannot describe. If you are just sick of living the way you have been. Or you want to be the person that you know you are capable of being. You owe it to yourself to give yourself the best chance of recovery success you can find and call the people at NOLA DETOX. From the executive director Cedric Royal. The head nurse Ms. Opal. All of the resident nurses, Yoshi, Jovianna, Stephanie, Ariel, Sam, just to name a few. Then there are the techs Jonathan, Danielle, Derrick, Kevin, Ms. Aqua, Cherry, India, Hunter, Adam, Ms. Kendra, and yes, even Patrick.(😁Lol). As well as the wellbeing and sobriety of some people whom I love dearly. Including my fiance. and I do not even want to imagine where my life would be right now if I had not have had the courage to take that initial step and actually held my own self accountable for the way my life had become. It was MY actions and MY choices that had led to the unmanageable state of a mess that my life was in. Having tried it my way so many times and each time falling short, I was so close to giving up. And what a shame and waste of life that would have been. Therefore I'm glad I didn't give up. Instead I gave in, gave it to my lord and savior, and gave the caring professionals at NOLA DETOX a call. (Thank you Shelby). Thank the Copelands for this place. And thank God I did it!!! ❤️💯

This is an amazing program . I graduated in January. Just to start with the smaller things , the beds are comfy , own apartment, private, the food is good. THE COUNSELORS ARE EXCELLENT! ELIZABETH was my counselor inpatient and I saw tremendous growth in me. She showed me Iam intresicly valuable. Alumni is awesome. IOPshod really have it's own review. It's excellent. I do my socializing here with sober people I already have a report with. They feed us and give our meds. Great comrodery.By far the best part is my counselor. KAT IS AMAZING! I don't know where I'd be with out her. She points my growth out to me. Has helped me get through many tough situations. She is educated, informative and has amazing feedback! She's my favorite part of this all around awesome experience. She not only is awesome listener but gives great advise and makes me feel important. This woman along with ERIN who I affectionatly call Nanny has great art projects and is very kind. Along with the receptionist Ms Altondra is so organized and helps everything run smoothly. When I walk thru the door as the first face I see greets me with care and optimism. I love this place and these lady's. IOP is fun therapeutic and full of love. Also shout out to Ashly Duncan and Sam who are huge parts of my recovery. Sam does such am amazing job running alimni. He has played a great roll in my recovery. Love Jacie

After receiving 30 days of inpatient treatment for alcohol, I continued my care at Lake Wellness. Bruce Steinberg has been an incredible asset in my recovery; I cannot say enough good things about him. He created a safe and non-judgmental space for his clients, and each day of the week had a specific agenda, which kept the meetings fresh and interesting. I thoroughly appreciated the activities and concepts that we explored. His group was open-minded and empathetic and was a place for growth, healing, and connection for me. Definitely in my top 3 Rehabs I have ever been too. Ive been to a handful from Georgis to Mississippi, from clinical to faith based I have been able to learn something from each of them. I will tell you know that the Program Director, Dr Jacob's "Stina" is a clinical and spiritual genius. The Staff, easy to get along with and make it extremely comfortable. The food is top notch, and soul filling, the beds are soft with plenty of pillows, Nursing staff Excellent and Respectful.

To the Administration at Lakeview Hospital, I am writing to share my outstanding experience with the CT scan staff, specifically Victoria and Kelly, at your Covington location. My gastroenterologist recently ordered a CT abdominal scan with dye, and from registration to the end of my appointment, the care I received truly warranted a five-star review. Victoria and Kelly were exceptional at putting my mind at ease. They took the time to explain exactly what to expect, from the initial IV and kidney function test to the specific sensations caused by the dye. Because they were so thorough in their instructions—explaining the temporary warmth and the feeling for 5 to 10 seconds. II felt very little discomfort. They also provided helpful advice on preparation and aftercare, emphasizing the importance of fasting and staying hydrated for 24 hours to flush the dye from my system. Throughout both of my procedures, the staff remained communicative and ensured I was as comfortable as possible. I want to extend my sincere thanks to Victoria and Kelly for their professionalism and kindness. They turned a stressful situation into a very positive one.

I did a 45 stay and couldn’t recommend this facility enough. The staff is incredible, the schedule is brilliantly tailored towards holistic recovery, and the family is involved through weekly zooms and a monthly family workshop. The facility is the nicest I’ve been to and there’s an on-site chef and masseuse. It’s an intensive program but there’s a lot of comfort and camaraderie involved.

i came in at the worst spot in my life and came out at the best. the social workers talk to you a lot and pay attention to everything so they can get you the right treatment, and most of the staff were always helpful and kind. the food was pretty meh but what do you expect. and if you really pay attention to the groups that you do throughout the day, some of them can really help you open up. just be honest and respect the staff and you’ll be good. also, if ms errolyn or ms trish is in your day shift, you’ll love them.

I volunteerly sought help with medication. Ì was afraid of what would happen while there. After a couple of days, the other ladies reached out to me and every thing changed for the better. I had lost most of my sight and could only hear very little. The staff was extremely helpful and concerned. I did get my meds adjusted. The support staff were great. I only had a few negative interactions with staff. The worst one was in the day room on Sept 13, 2025 when a female staff member ran across the room and to the TV screaming excessively loud. Most of us had very negative reactions and several went out of the room.

It took a while for me to decide to post a remark, but I felt that I had to say something. I was a patient there last June because of something stupid I did because of the pain I was in because of my back. At first I was very upset and unruly. But after being there for a couple of days I did notice a couple of things that are definitely NOT the faculty's fault. The doctors, nurses & medtechs did the best they could with what they had. These people come in to help, because they care. But the one thing I did notice was that the staff was over-worked, under-staffed, under-appreciated & I don't know, but probably underpaid. They relied on donations, when it came down to certain clothes, shoes & I remember how short they were on pillows. After being discharged, my husband & I donated some items for them to use. The thing that gets me angry is after reading some of these reviews, it has become apparent to me how important that the Gov. steps in and do something about the lack of care there is for mental health. I read in a comment that their loved one was dumped like trash and she had dementia. While there myself and one other person tried to help the medtechs, when they needed some. These people are human beings, NOT TRASH and shouldn't be treated like it, due to the facility being so short staffed. You know, it's a shame we don't learn from the Asians on how they care for their loved ones. But like I said my personal experience taught me a lot about facing my inner demons, while trying to help the medtechs. Here's a thought!!! Maybe if you treated your staff the way that they should be treated, then you would not have so many unhappy family members of the patients.

Our developmentally disabled client was admitted last week. I can’t say enough about how awesome this facility has been. At most past facilities our other clients were in we had such a hard time advocating for them. Beacon has been easy to communicate w all the treatment team. We were included and informed regarding his care plan. They were able to make him feel safe. I’ll be requesting this facility if we ever need an admit for our DD consumers. Thank you Beacon!
