About Church of Salvation – New Canaan Ranch

Church of Salvation – New Canaan Ranch, located in Pulaski, Tennessee, aims to help men of all races, ages, and backgrounds overcome homelessness and court problems while maintaining freedom from substance abuse. Their programming offers customized treatment tailored to individual recovery through faith-based initiatives.

Church of Salvation- New Canaan Ranch provides outpatient and faith-based services.

Outpatient treatment programming is a flexible approach to addiction treatment and is a step down from partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs. This service provides support through individual therapy, group therapy, and educational classes on addiction and recovery. Medications may be managed and for those in need, trauma support may also be offered. The goal is to continue to move toward a life of recovery and a suitable aftercare treatment plan that allows for reintegration back into society. Those who have endured homelessness or legal issues will be supported.

Faith-based treatment utilizes the spiritual beliefs and teachings of a particular faith to help individuals overcome addiction. Through a connection to their Higher Power, or the God of their religion, overcoming defeating behaviors is thought to become possible. This usually involves daily time spent in prayer, devotion, or reflection to create a deeper connection and the feeling of support through this connection.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more.

Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with the addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.

The structure, daily routine, and faith-based focus was just what I needed to start making changes. They could use a few more staff members but the ones there really do care. I left feeling stronger and steadier and they helped me to make a fresh start

I spent 1.5 years here. I can tell you first hand. This place is a scamThey will work you like a dog. Then beg you for the little they give you back. We starved often eating expired foodDespite the donations coming in from various food banks. The staff just take the donations for them selves. The place is roach and bed bug infested. They don't care. People get high every night in the house. There is no help or salvation here. Nothing. Just as long as your their slave. Everything's hunky doryI remember my first day I had medications I was supposed to be on. Prescribed by doctors. They took them from me. Never to see them again. I started having seizures because of this. Despite my efforts. And telling them I needed them. They didn't care. Not until I hit my head and ended up in the hospital. Which they refused to put on the insurance.Steer clear.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
