Hey, I had a run-in with the police, and I have a problem with authority. So obviously this went bad and the police escalated it to the point where they arrested me. Instead of going to jail care and help me decrease my aggression. Working with the therapist at BHcare I’ve been able to become a happier person and happier and doing the things that I do. I look forward to working with the therapist to improve myself so that I can become more Productive.

Best clinic I’ve been to. Clean, quiet, staff is amazing and go above and beyond. Especially Fran, she is so good at her job. Genuinely enjoy coming here and seeing them. My only thing is like to change is update the hours online and the answering service, they take. A little bit to get back to you bc the calls are forwarded first. But other than that I enjoy being a client here. Def. Recommend if you’re in the New Haven area or Bridgeport.

My mentor in Jane was amazing and she supported me when a staff came in like a hawk questioning me about watching her presentation on diabetes (talking bout ohh I thought staff development was trying to watch me through you as an intern 😅 😒). I was here May 7, 2021-June 12, 2021. Great, caring staff who went above and beyond for the clients. They encouraged clients to participate in group etc but did not force anything on anyone. The staff was truly amazing and wanted to see clients do better for themselves. I was kept busy and felt that my voice was heard and my needs were met. My counselor was Seva and she was THE BEST! She had my discharge plans ready by the second day I was in the inpatient program (after detox). She listened to my needs and made sure they were all taken care of. This place saved my life and I would definitely send someone I love here! Forever grateful.

I went here at the end of June. There were some good things that happened and bad things. Not every nurse was nice, but they weren't cruel to me. They were very open to me being Wiccan and I felt accepted and safe. I had a couple of bad days, but all the patients were so nice. I had two roommates who were total sweeties and they helped me put things into perspective. The food was delicious and I highly recommend it, however you need to communicate exactly what you want to the kitchen staff. Most patients complained that they didn't get what they ordered, but it's easy to forget when they take your dinner order and the next day meals too. I loved to do coloring, but the nurses never seemed to have time to keep the colored pencils sharpened, nor would they allow us to sharpen them. Some of the nurses acted like you were wasting their time. With one TV and not tons of stuff to do, it felt like being back in the 90s only I couldn't go outside. The groups felt like Girl Scout camp. I would advise family members to call ahead to find out what personal items are allowed when visiting and the hospital doesn't offer conditioner for hair and they won't let you have one from home if it has the "cetearyl alcohol" in it which is stupid because the hand lotion they give you has the same ingredient!!

A family member had a driver's eval with one of the OTs. The eval was thorough and appropriate. The OT was kind and professional. The results of the cognitive evaluation indicated that a road test was not necessary. Due to the deficits identified, a road test could have ended in tragedy. It was helpful to have test results to inform the need for the family member to stop driving rather than just our opinions. The time spent and the cost of the eval was definitely worth it.
