This place is amazing. I can not say enought fantastic positive praise to the staff there. Safe environment, a lot of groups and classes & outside time. Cafeteria is phenomenal. I would highly recommend going there for detox & then a 28 day program in house. IOP aftercare as well. 5 out of 5 stars.

My mom has been seeing Dr Foreman for at least 10 years and she drives 30 minutes for him even though she's nervous driving. She's always said how nice all of the receptionists are. I left a message yesterday to get an initial appointment but haven't heard back. I'll be calling again tomorrow because I absolutely hate where I am currently. And my mom's the most critical person ever and for her to like this place for over 10 years and STILL have great things to say says A LOT!

I was part of the STARS program in September of 2012. It was court ordered and I honestly did not want to go. I asked to just be sent back York. I was sick and not looking forward to being there at all. By the time I got there it was 6pm and I had to do an intake. I hate intakes and I especially hate intakes when I’m sick. They made it as painless as possible. I finally was able to go to the floor, I was put on B side. I was thankful to see a lot of the women who were in York with me as well. My first week was rough and just went to appease court. I’ve done detox and rehab and find them all to be the same. It’s always someone saying they know what I’m going through, they care about me etc etc. I was assigned a counselor and a process group, I still wasn’t wanting to be there. After 2 weeks of being sick and finally being able to get on methadone, I thought this may actually work this time! My counselor was Bev, she was absolutely incredible! She took her time with me and didn’t push me to open up, she just patiently waited until I was ready. I never saw anyone be mistreated, disrespected or degraded. I ended up staying past my discharge date because I had to wait for placement somewhere else after. I honestly owe my clean time to Bev. She showed me that I could do it and I wasn’t hopeless. I have been clean since August 12th 20212. I entered Merritt Hall on September 12th 2012 from York Correctional Facility. I will have 9 years clean in August thanks to Bev and Merritt Hall. ***update*** I see my review is getting a lot of traction. I’m still clean with no relapse! 8/12/2012! Great internship opportunity working in Staff Development after being denied ability to be a Summer RA @ Uconn despite rocking the interviews and saving a resident from ramifications who ultimately got the summer job (that resident was so rude to me smh and even ignored me in the interview process like I didn't just help her land an opportunity). My mentor in Jane was amazing and she supported me when a staff came in like a hawk questioning me about watching her presentation on diabetes (talking bout ohh I thought staff development was trying to watch me through you as an intern 😅 😒). Ms. Fleischmann will forever be a fav bc I learned so much under her direction. Not only in knowledge but in life. So much love there.

We have used River Valley for years and always very impressed with the service. This week was exceptional. Snow storm Monday. We lost power until 4 pm. That evening I realized we had no hot water. Tues, we called RV at 8 am and John ( tech) was at our house by 8:45. He determined that the hot water tank was shot. Wed morning the crew is here with a new tank. BUT they can’t get up our driveway due to the Wed morning snow. John, the owner, drives down to Killingworth in his pick up with a plow, and plows our driveway. By 2 pm, I’m taking a hot shower!!

I just had an oil to propane conversion and new HVAC system installed by River Valley oil. The pricing was better than the local company I used and the installation was prompt, clean and I am very satisfied with the result. Had only used them for propane deliveries prior to this but they are my go to for service and deliveries from now on. Highly recommend.

I’m very nervous for typing this it prolly won’t get seen but that’s alright I’m helllllaaaaa late I’ve been here tons of times I believe I was 14 when I first came and I was obviously a damaged person from the start because of the trauma I’ve had growing up when I was with my family I’ve done horrible things and said horrible things to the staff members, I’m so disgusted by the way I’ve acted I’m 23 now doing a whole lot better in my life and my past still haunts me although now i cope better with it But im 23 years old and to just flash back on the stuff I’ve done to them people it honestly hurts me because I’ve realized now (and this is sad) that they were only tryna help me and if I just allowed them to help me then all the stuff I did to them wouldn’t keep haunting me the way it does right now ( I do cope very well with it though) but if I can just apologize to them face to face I would because if I did the program right things would have been extremely different. I’m thankful for the things I have now but I just want the solnit south staff to know I’m sorry for everything and if I could go back and change everything I would. I enjoyed the activities they had for us I’d like to thank Miguel for pulling me aside when I’d ask for his time so that we can plan activities with other kids they were always so fun playing kickball and had the ping pong tournament (I won first place) I enjoyed beating all the staff members who could play ping pong I miss those days…. I’d like to thank Dave shinn ( idk how to spell his name lol) but I’d like to thank him for pulling me off the unit to play ping pong with me, man that man is good I finally beat him though but sometimes I think he let me win since it was my last time being there due to age LOL :’D…. all the rec staff were amazing and fun the teachers were also amazing and fun and funny as heck lol… all of the staff rocked man and I wish I could play pingpong again with you guys especially the champ Dave shinn hope all is well and take care. ~ love jayde. :)

TURNBRIDGE made all the difference! I cannot say thank you enough to the residential program and the extended care staff for the love and care and accountability and compassion they showed our family throughout my daughter’s time in Connecticut!! When she was admitted to the residential treatment program I wasn’t sure what else to try. She had already participated in a 70-day stay at a residential program in GA, Intensive Outpatient Program, individual counseling, family counseling, grief counseling, 3 acute hospitalizations and 3 inpatient adolescent psychiatric admissions. To say that I felt we had exhausted all our options is an understatement. But I am here to tell you: Turnbridge made a tremendous difference! The lessons learned during the residential program STARTED the healing and growth process for all of us. The extended care program, where there was a very gradual step-down in the number of clinical hours/therapy each day and each week, and a gradual reintroduction to the same public/societal stressors and triggers that proved too much in the past, is really where lasting change and habits began. My daughter’s case manager, Ana, has become family! Months after she returned home, Ana still checks in with us. I am so grateful to the team of seasoned professionals who saw through her grief and pain and anger and chose to help build-up the wounded and scarred girl hiding beneath it all. My 17 year old excelled in her classes this summer and is looking forward to starting her Senior Year in a few weeks. We are 180° from where we were this time last year and TURNBRIDGE will forever be part of her success story!! -a forever grateful Mother-

Whether you are a 1st time treatment/detox seeker or have relapsed and are searching for a new facility, this is your place. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for the patients. This was my one and hopefully only experience, but I am incredibly grateful that I chose Retreat (New Haven). My therapist was PHENOMENAL! If you are willing to do the work, commit to yourself that YOU are worth the time & energy needed that it takes to truly recover, and remain sober then I highly recommend you give Retreat a try. It is a welcoming community and hopefully you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was about the services available, especially if you are a first responder or an active duty/veteran service member.

The visit was for my father,he is and has always been terrified of doctors, dentist etc. Dr. Christina Kolade was very reassuring and had his nerves at ease. She had him laughing, cutting up and being truthful about all of his problems (which i thought wouldn't happen). I hope to be able to continue using her in the future for his appointments. We need my daddy around for as long as possible. Thank you Dr. Christina Kolade for making this easy for him.

Receive good healthcare from the entire team, especially Grace Mills, APRN (my PCP). She knows what I need before I do and though she's so very busy with many clients, takes the time to listen and ask questions. And her nurse replies to messages involving health matters in very timely manner. Overall, excellent care provided by all (including front desk representatives).
