This place is amazing. The staff is beyond incredible. They make you feel like family. They truly care for you. I stayed for 95 days. Best thing I ever did. Oh and you eat like a king lol some of the best food ever and the bakery is out of this world. In all seriousness this place is an amazing place to get help. I felt welcomed by all the other guests as well. Everyone is there for the same reason so its very easy to get along and you build a family forever . I've been out for over 6 months now and I still talk to at least 15 of the guys. Highly recommend. In fact I have already recommend it to a few people. And i met some people here in bennington vt where I go to AA that went to h.w back in the day. Can't wait to go back for a prime rib dinner soon..

I am a two time alum of High Watch and I owe the place so much. The first time I went in July 2023 was the first time I ever tried to get sober - I was terrified to enter treatment, didn t want the help, was angry and frankly wasn t ready to get sober. High Watch nonetheless showed me so much love, support and encouragement during my 28 day stay, and in the months following my discharge. They met me where I was and didn t give up trying to help me. This stay at High Watch was the first time in my life I felt like I belonged somewhere.I came back 6 months later in February 2024 and this time stayed for 4.5 months - completed the regular 28 day program and also the 3 month extended guest program. I am still sober today. If it hadn t been for my extremely positive experience during round 1, I would never have returned. The staff at High Watch genuinely care about every single guest there, the therapists and group sessions are great, and the campus is beautiful. There are quite a lot of rules / a rigid daily schedule, which was sometimes tough but for me I needed this kind of structure. What s also cool is that so many (I think the majority) of staff members are in recovery themselves and many have gone through High Watch so they get what it s like to be in treatment and how hard it is, especially at the beginning. High Watch also helps set you up with plans after your discharge and have great connections with sober livings and IOPs to help with your aftercare plans. For what it s worth, the food is also amazing

Just a review from a loved one who is thankful for the care given. I don’t know much other than Lori is sent from a higher power to work on and coordinate rehabilitative services. We hope the tools and resources will spark the journey in lasting recovery and are so thankful for everything. Compassion is such a hard thing to convey, but it reverberates through the process from the very beginning of intake all the way to the heart of the journey. If there are any reservations, concerns or fears, I can tell you they will be alleviated the minute you connect. Best of wishes and thank you Cornerstone staff, alum and loved ones.

I had an amazing experience at Newport ct . I was at double hill the residential for two months . Through out my time I made a lot of progress. I have to thank the cc s that were there while I was! I felt like I was impacted the most with the conversations I have with care coordinators, and also fellow clients . I learned many coupling skills and experienced full support for the first time in my life . While my stay at Newport was great there were ups and downs. Healing comes in waves. Or as they say at Newport healing is not linear!

We had to send my daughter to Newport after it was recommended by an acute place that she needed residential and longer treatment than acute care. I didn t have the best impression when I first contacted them. I was mislead and thought I could pay a certain amount to send her closest to us in the Charlotte location but turned out that was not accurate and had to send her to the Connecticut location. Then reading the Google reviews scared us. That s why I wanted to share my experience. My daughter was in the dragonfly group. Everyone was truly amazing. Alexa was always in constant communication with us. She was our family therapist and dealt with all our concerns. She was always there for us when we needed her. Her teacher Tea was in constant communication with my daughter s school and us. My daughter clicked with her personal therapist Amy which helped my daughter a lot. Lisa her roomSupervisor was great with dealing with issues. She got sick a few times and was well taken care of. This place never made my daughter feelinstitutionalized. She enjoyed her MMA and equine therapy. They took them offsite for allDifferent activities including church. When it snowed they went outside and went sledding and snowball fights. All the assistants and aids were so friendly and caring. My daughter truly loved being at Newport and because of them my daughter is on a good healing path. I felt so comfortable with her being so far away. I would highly recommend this place to someone with a child that needed help.

This place (The staff, their modalities, the location) Saved my life. The only reason I have contact w my family is because they focused on the holistic approach. Seeing the low reviews breaks my heart. I hesitate in breaking my anonymity and protected healthcare information from when I was a teenager. A lot of people who had good results maybe don t wanna put their name out there for a good review because they ve gone on to bigger and better things because of Wellspring. They Deal w Trauma and complex family dynamics. They also do their best to get us kids off drugs.

I was a resident in 1992 to 1994. Wellspring helped me tremendously. Especially the Adventure Program where we would go on hikes. I found a love of nature and friendships for a lifetime. The current director, Dan Murray was my therapist and he was so gentle and caring. He cared a great deal about all of his patients. Many of us are still friends and remember him so fondly.I also went on to Angelus House at 18 and finished my senior year of high school at the local public high school. The transition helped me gain confidence and lifelong friendships from there as well.Thank you for the lessons. Many sunk in much later in life, but you helped plant the seeds.

Eden Hill Recovery Retreat is nestled in a restored farmhouse on 18 beautiful acres in Canaan, Connecticut. The facility offers a CARF-accredited transitional living program exclusively for women over 18 in early recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. Their serene and home-like environment accommodates up to 12 residents at a time.
This was one of my lifetime BEST decisions I've made. When I stepped in the front door I felt a spirit that welcomed me home. Eden Hill always felt like my home and it still does. I cannot give enough praise to the women who run Eden Hill. Such a beautiful, compassionate, wise, selfless group who were always reliable. HighWatch Recovery and Eden Hill should be very proud. Thank you for such a wonderful recovery experience. I've learned so many coping skills and truths about the disease of addiction. I'm not ashamed anymore.

Phenomenal. Professional, personal, tailor-made individualistic programming. Very much a family atmosphere. Once you settle in, you will never want to leave. If I could live at Eden Hill, I would do it in a heartbeat. The term staff doesn t adequately do justice to the Team of people who run and work at , Eden Hill in all capacities. They are personable, accommodating in anyway possible and loving. It is not possible to leave Eden Hill without feeling like your family has gained a few unofficial members. The accommodations are fabulous and newly renovated. Therapeutic communal living helped me to increase individual personal responsibility while at the same time learning to live with and compromise (perhaps for the first time) With my housemates. The clients form a bond that is therapeutic and supportive. We learn to hold each other accountable for their actions in recovery and other communal living issues in a kind and, if necessary, mediated way. Some of the tools I left with we re effective communication, the development and use of boundaries, healthy confrontation (or care-frontation ) and how to be a part of the solution instead of the problem. Most importantly I learned humility. I learned the world does not revolve around me and that to be successful in recovery and life, I need a support network which required working on my relationship skills. My circumstances did not allow me to participate in the family recovery events; however, I witnessed my peers and their families participate with what appeared to be excellent results. The Town-of Canaan is small, safe, charming, and has a large recovery network suitable for all ages. I have known many people that have gone through Mountainside treatment center in Canaan and then followed treatment at the extended care facility of Eden Hill Recovery Retreat in Canaan that have decided to remain in the area due to the Active and varied recovery community. Additionally, many of these individuals are still clean and sober and moving on with their lives. I myself am considering relocating to the Canaan area at some point in the near future for the above stated reasons.I cannot recommend this place more highly. Eden Hill is like a second home to me which I will forever remember as a very necessary, nurturing, and healing time. I have met some of the most wonderful, loving women in situations much the same as my own that I will forever treasure as sisters and friends On a journey you couldn t possibly understand unless you ve been on it too.

I've been with NMHBH for(maybe) 20 years now.I've seen 3 women counselors. I literally walked right out in the middle of each session. One woman was constantly late. She would go to her office and spend even more time. Eventually, I was called in and ONLY had 10-15 minutes left to talk. All the while, she was putzing at her desk with her back towards me.Another counselor, I was explaining how I feel with the physical aspects of having anxiety and panic attacks. To me it is physical. So, when I mentioned all this to her,TRUE STORY!!!...AND I QUOTE...(with a tick of the tongue)she replies,"Oh! I don't believe that!!"I was in complete shock ! I gave the counselor a piece of my mind and stormed out of the office.I thought counselors are supposed to be sympathetic. Hmmm?? Listens well and has GOOD advice to give that will certainly help with your everyday difficult situations, troubles, uncertainties etc. I received no helpful feedback. I don't seem to get along with any female counselors or women in general. I'm still a patient at NMHBH. Now I only go every 3 months just to check in & review my medications. This is only MY experience. Perhaps you'll find a counselor for yourself & hopefully be able to establish a relationship that is detrimental to your well-being.Thank you for your time.Mz. Murphy
