Fairfield, CT | The Center for Discovery Fairfield is a residential rehab in Fairfield, Connecticut that treats people with a co-occurring eating disorder and addiction. They can also help with other issues that complicate your eating disorder and substance use recovery like mental health conditions. Located in Fairfield, Connecticut, is the Center for Discovery F | Treatments Programs Payment Options | It’s hard to believe that in a couple of months it will be two years since I walked into the doors of Center for Discovery Congress. My time at CFD was truly transformative. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warmth, compassion, and an incredible level of care. The staff—therapists, dietitian, and counselors—were not only knowledgeable but deeply invested in my healing journey and SO extremely patient with me.
What made my experience so impactful was the holistic approach to recovery. They didn’t just focus on my eating disorder; they helped me address the underlying trauma that contributed to it. Through specialized trauma work, I was able to process past experiences in a safe and supportive environment. The therapy sessions, whether group or one-on-one, gave me the tools to navigate my emotions, build resilience, and truly begin healing from the inside out.
Beyond the incredible care, one of the most meaningful parts of my journey was the connections I formed with others in treatment. Being surrounded by individuals who truly understood my struggles created a sense of belonging I had never felt before. The friendships I built during my time at CFD became a source of strength and encouragement, reminding me that I was never alone in this process. We supported each other through the ups and downs, celebrated victories—big and small—and formed bonds that will last a lifetime.
The environment itself was nurturing and free of judgment, allowing me to focus entirely on recovery. Every meal was a step forward, supported by professionals who understood the complexities of my struggles. They gave me the tools to helped start rebuilding my relationship with food, my body, and most importantly, myself.
Center for Discovery Congress gave me hope when I felt lost. They empowered me with the strength and skills to move forward, not just in my recovery from an eating disorder, but in my overall healing from trauma. I am forever grateful for their kindness, patience, and unwavering support. If you or a loved one are struggling, I wholeheartedly recommend Center for Discovery—you will be in the best hands possible, surrounded by a community that truly cares.

I was at Center for Discovery for 5 and a half months. Out of all the 31 treatment places I have been this one was by far the best. The staff are amazing and so caring and really have all the clients best interest in mind. You are not just another client… you become part of the congress house where everyone cares so deeply about everyone. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is getting the right treatment that is good for them. I liked how individualized each person’s treatment was. I am very lucky that I got to have Angela as my therapist. Angela helped me in more ways than I could ever express. This in it’s own shows how amazing and devoted the staff are to ensuring each person’s recovery. Angela was going on call (leaving as the full time therapist) but stayed an extra three months to be my therapist until I discharged. The clinical director Sam took vacation days so that Angela could come in and see me (technically Angela wasn’t supposed to come in because she was on call). because Sam knew how important it was for my recovery to continue the work with Angela. I have never been to any other treatment center that would do that or even think about doing that. That in itself made a huge impact on me that they were willing to go out of their ways to ensure I get the best possible treatment. Sam is an amazing clinical director and I really look up to her a lot. Some of the staff have been there for 8-10 years which is rare for ed treatment centers. That in itself shows how great Sam is. The groups were all great as well and the counselors are all amazing. I learned so many coping skills that I implement into my everyday life. You can also check in with your therapist as many times as you need and you can also check in with the other therapist’s as well. Dorcas and all the nurses are also amazing and go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is okay. Dr. B the medical doctor is the best doctor I have ever met in my life. I looked forward to seeing her every week!
If you have the opportunity to go to this specific cfd location I 100% recommend it! It is honestly life changing.

This is my second time coming to CFD Congress Location, I had left AMA the first time and it was the WORST decision of my life. I relapsed almost immediately but this made me realize that unlike other treatment programs, this program works HARD to heal deeper psychological situations contributing to your eating disorder. From every counselor (Allyson, Katie, Rosa, Jordan, Kim, Tasha, etc) , nurse (Aiasha, Dorcas, Debbie, Tiana, Shantel, etc.) therapist (Angela, Saer, Melissa, Lauren) to dietician (Simone) they work to know every aspect of your person in order to appropriately treat you. The work toward recovery is long, difficult, and emotionally exhausting but the staff AND program director (Samantha) are there for you in the wink of an eye. There is a camaraderie between the patients and staff that is not present in ANY other program; where they just check a list for recovery as if it is an equation. Staff works with insurance to make sure you have adequate enough time to truly heal and recover physically and mentally. When the world feels unsafe, this house is a safe haven for those with eating disorders and trauma. This program also prepares you to continue your recovery in the outside world where you may be surrounded by a toxic culture or environment. True recovery and freedom from your eating disorder begins at CFD Congress location.

Fairfield, CT | Located in Fairfield, Connecticut is the Discovery Mood and Anxiety program. This is a residential treatment program that supports teens aged 11 to 17. They offer comprehensive care to children who are struggling with mood disorders, depression, thoughts of self harm, and struggles with substance abuse among other behavioral health issues. Inviting | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was a client here just discharged a few days ago thank god because 83 days is a crap load of days for a short term rtc.. and honestly this place is pretty good if you’re looking for a worthy residential that’ll benefit you. Past residentials didn’t work out for me as well as this one did, in fact they even helped me work through the struggles and trauma I experienced at prior facilities and I just want to thank everybody especially my therapist and a couple of staff (idek if I can say their names lul) but you guys genuinely taught me how to come clean towards the past stuff I’ve done, learn how to prevent excessive hospitalization/crisis, and learn to accept my struggles. Even if I had my moments (mentioning other kids too..) and was even hospitalized a few weeks into my stay, I was willing to come back and start again, which I probably would’ve never done in the past, and the fact I tried and kept going even if it was a lot on me already, family struggles, mental health, struggling with psychosis, schizoaffective, some trauma and substance/sh issues I learned to adapt towards my own life, kept myself going and eventually stabilized and helped myself in ways I could’ve never done without this specific location of DMAP please and oh my goodness if you ever think about sending your kid to a residential (for a logically and explanatory reason, for mental health support) PLEASE consider this place the staff are sososoo awesome and even if I will never see any of them again (hopefully at least here) they still are a fragment of my memory, I could technically say this whole place changed my life, which would be a little exaggerated but it helped me live on, even if life isn’t the greatest, there’s still hope, and nothing but you can make the choice of hurting yourself, reach out to someone, anyone. Permanent solutions towards your problems, that are temporary or some that are not totally curable but still manageable. It’s not the answer, help yourself. You pass alone, and you were never meant to be carried, some people are jerks, it’s just life. But that doesn’t mean anyone should effect your own personal goals, happiness, etc.. You are your own person, you won the race to be born too, that means your better than all of those unborn children, embrace it twin. Love forever, hate will only dismantle your soul and turn you into someone you were trying to avoid. Anyway 4 stars but I’d give it a 4.5 if I could #supercoolioawesomenesslennyout 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

I was here as a client in 2020 and I had a pretty positive experience. The staff were professional and caring and many of the groups were interesting. Some staff went above and beyond to help me and I still remember them. My individual therapist was especially wonderful. It’s difficult to find programs that are professional while also being warm and welcoming, but this program was exactly that. There is a lot of structure which can feel strict and limiting, but sometimes that’s what is needed to heal. I would recommend this place above anywhere else I’ve received treatment.

My daughter had been to an outpatient PHP prior to entering a residential placement. Upon discharge from residential she returned to the previous PHP. Following a few weeks, my daughter said "Mom, you are sending me to a day care center for adolescents with mental health issues that don't want to get better. This place is not helping me.". How can I ignore that statement? We changed programs immediately and attended the IOP at Discovery Mood and Health in Southport. This program was the perfect fit. Of course, my daughter hated it at first because they made her do the work. She attended IOP for approximately 2.5 months and finally made a change. Jacqui and Rob were amazing! Jacqui was tough but in all the right ways. She held us accountable and did not allow either one of us to make excuses. I don't think we would have made it this far without them.

New Canaan, CT | Located in New Canaan, Connecticut, Silver Hill Hospital is an alcohol and drug rehab facility that provides addiction treatment services. They also provide mental health treatment services. Their levels of care include residential, intensive outpatient, and transitional living accommodations. Silver Hill Hospital is a comprehensive treatment cente | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’m here to lay down my 5-star review re: Rocky Marotta, M.D., PhD.. And to also give you ONE, single word of advice based on my experience with him. I met Dr. Rocco Marotta way back in 2012 when I was in my early thirties (yup! Still just a kid) and I knew nothing about effective mental health. Or, even life! At first, I thought I had all of the answers and still intended to do things MY way. (That may seem all too familiar to those who offered negative reviews re: Silver Hill Hospital & its physicians? All I can say to that is: “Stick around and keep coming!”) But it truly wasn’t long before my behavior began to change bc Rocky helped me to realize that MY way was, Uhmm, completely distorted and shall we say, not exactly working?! Knowing how brilliant the man actually is, I deeply respected him and slowly, things began to change for me. As they can indeed change for you! In fact, I had walked a very dark path until Rocky shined a great big light of HOPE onto me and my situation. Rocky has a tendency to take notes on all of his patients. I bet you didn’t know that. Yes he does. He takes notes, reads those notes and refers to those notes. That is CARING! But to further, he listens to what his patients have to say. He gets to know them, often times, better than they know themselves. Once you understand that- you can’t help but to start listening too. Get it? Makes sense? The man also makes critical recommendations… the kind which save lives. I’m here to tell you, he saved mine. Of this, I’m whole-heartedly convinced. Rocky not only saved my life- but at times like this, years later, when I reflect on myself…and HIM— I realize that he also helped me to save my SOUL. So if you’re reading this for yourself, or for someone you deeply love ~ let that SAME magic, that SAME hope and those same miracles happen for you and/or them. “How?” you ask? Well, it’s much more simple than you realize! All I had to do was listen. And I’m telling you that all you have to do is just that: Listen. Because these days, again, a decade and a half later… I no longer have the same stinkin’ roadblocks of mental illness obstructing my every path. I don’t suffer anymore. I don’t miss opportunities. I’m not depressed, or anxious, manic or, taking my life for granted. Nope. Not me. My life is balanced and joyful— and most of the time I’m helping someone else! (Can you even imagine?!) And WHO do I thank for this? Undoubtedly, Rocky & my Family (& Jo!) Without them, Lord only knows where I’d be. And I love and honor EACH of them for that. For never giving up on me. For letting me make mistakes. For loving me, too. Today, I’m an active, trusted, dedicated member of society (& even multiple Board Member!! lol) And YOU CAN DO IT ALL TOO. Whatever you want… Just not before you’re actually ready. I already told you HOW in this Review. Finally, I’m not at all surprised that Rocky Marotta founded the “Lodge” at Silver Hill for Neuropsychiatric Disorders. Or, that he’s now the Director of the Center for the Treatment and Study of Neuropsychiatric Disorders. Or that he uses the terms “HEALING” and/or “HEALED!” Or that he’s even the former Medical Director of Silver Hill Hospital Because, quite frankly, he’s just that good! That excellent! So remember this, the next time you’re feeling hopeless or symptomatic. That these are the types of physicians (ie. *Dr. Matthew Griepp, Dr. Rocky, etc etc) which make up Silver Hill Hospital and who are available to you. Just learn to listen … don’t over complicate things and watch your entire life change. Thanks and good luck, ADL.

We all have different needs and I can't tell you that Silver Hill is going to solve all your problems. If you are thinking about going here, Silver Hill did "save my life" as all the other reviews say.
I wasn't well for a long time and was controlled by my depression for seven and a half years. I thought nothing would help and have had traumatic experiences in the hospital before.
When I heard the word "hospital", I panicked, but I wasn't safe and needed support. When I actually got there, I found community, I was given strategies to live, I got on the right medication (finally), I took up hobbies again, and I was able to feel again instead of be in that empty void.
It's been a year now and while I'm still processing trauma, I am happy. I control my life and I hope you can find that too.

Don’t overlook, this is an overall terrific hospital even if you have to travel to get here.
I was at Silver Hill for many months and experienced The Triumph Program and ACU adult inpatient (scroll for ACU). When I went to the Triumph Program at Barrett House and it was a life changing experience in the best way. The Barrett RCs (staff who are at the house) are very friendly and helpful and give skills coaching to any resident when needed. The Barrett clinicians are amazing, they are so knowledgeable, supportive, kind, understanding and give the pushes to do the hard things that help you grow. Dr. Haas is incredibly smart and an expert at what she does, I was actually flabbergasted at some moments when she could tell what was going on when I didn’t fully. The weekday groups are on a 6 week rotation and even though I went through the rotation multiple times I still felt like I learned something new and had a different takeaway each time. The Barrett House is very nice and the large hospital campus is great to walk around. There were good vibes at the house and it was often agreed upon by the group that this was such a unique space where we could understand each other in ways other people can’t and how wonderful it was to have that community.
The one and probably only issue I had was the food services for the hospital. At Barrett (started during the time I was there) everyone eats at the house family style for all meals. For those with dietary restrictions or accommodations, a menu was filled out for each day of the week with the foods on the “always available menu”, issue being many times they won’t send what you asked for if it had specific details (that could be accommodated) and for the food platters for the whole house often where missing items of food. When I was leaving there seemed to be efforts going to fix these issues however it didn’t happen while I was there.
The ACU does not apply to the 5 stars. I would give it probably a 3 star. The actual unit is outdated making it very hot in the summertime and the food area which is in the same room as the common space is quite tight. That room is pretty much the only place to socialize besides a small room with a tv. Many of the floor staff (the psych techs) were really trying their best to help patients but some I wondered why they chose this job. The RNs were helpful and doing their best to alleviate patients problems. It can be a hard place to be at times but that’s the nature of an inpatient unit and overall I would say it is one of better I’ve been to in comparison to many others.
I would recommend this hospital to anyone who asked

Bridgeport, CT | Midwestern Connecticut Council of Alcoholism (MCCA) has been helping folks in western Connecticut overcome substance use challenges for over 50 years. I am one of many clients who have received services through MCCA, and I can proudly speak to the support, understanding, and care they provide. Every session truly felt like being part of a supportive community. The stigma surrounding programs like MCCA is completely inaccurate because instead, I found a space where I felt welcomed, protected, and understood.
Not only did they provide me with the support I needed throughout my recovery journey, but they also provided me and others with valuable resources and tools to continue moving forward in life.
Thank you to MCCA for going above and beyond during my time there, and a very special thank you to Laura for believing in me and encouraging me every step of the way.

After years of trying everything we could think of, my wife and I finally found Westport House. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House.

Thanks to the Family Service League’s incredible team, I found community in a time of deep isolation. I will be forever grateful for the compassionate care they provided and continue to provide for so many families in need.

I’ve been going to the West Haven VA for a while now and honestly it’s always been a great experience. My appointments are always on time, the doctors take the time to explain everything clearly, and the nurses and staff are professional, polite, and genuinely helpful every single time. Can’t ask for much more than that.

This program was an eye-opener. It didn't just tell me 'don't drink,' but actually taught me practical skills to handle peer pressure and manage stress without relying on alcohol. The focus on setting personal goals and understanding my own triggers was incredibly empowering. I feel much more confident in making healthier choices for my future. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of not just myself, but all participants. They are currently a staple in my life and I would not have it any other way. I cannot thank this group of individuals enough for helping me get myself back.

I was a Patient there for approximately 9 months. A Wonderful Atmosphere and you’re surrounded by ppl who Really Care.
Especially the Counselors, My Counselor in Particular. Her Name was Jenn. A Wonderful Person and an Absolute Dear young Lady.
She was Extremely informative and Knows just how to make you feel Comfortable and Cared For.
I was going through a Rough patch, but looked Forward to my meetings with her every week and Every time I left her office, I ALWAYS FELT BETTER AND FELT LIKE SOMEONE CARED..
I can Honestly Say, Meeting Jenn was a Highlight of my Time there.
I only left there because I found a place Much Closer to my home out East.
But my Counselor there will always be close to my heart.
And I Thank Her Dearly.
All in all, a Wonderful Place to Get Clean and Stay Clean 👍🏻😁
