About ECS ACCORD

ECS ACCORD provides substance abuse education and counseling for adults in El Cajon, California. You can access ongoing support after receiving a charge for impaired driving. They’re a California licensed program and only accept private payment options.

While focusing on recovery in El Cajon, you’ll have several opportunities to enjoy the surrounding area. Their facility is near the El Cajon Recreation Center and Wells Park.

These green spaces provide chances to reflect and recharge in between sessions. You can also visit the El Cajon Library or Parkway Plaza Mall during your downtime.

Meeting State Requirements

I like that their program strives to reduce impaired driving and its negative impact on individuals, families and the community. You can participate in this program to meet state requirements after being arrested or convicted of driving under the influence.

They provide educational classes as well as one on one counseling sessions. You’re also required to attend peer support meetings, such as Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous.

I think it’s beneficial that, along with counseling, their team connects you with essential resources. You can work on vital recovery aspects, such as housing, employment and basic needs. They can also connect you to higher levels of addiction care if necessary.

Offering a Different Perspective

I was impressed by their positive reviews. Many former clients highlighted that their experience was beneficial and impacted their lives in a positive way.

One client said, “ACCORD has just changed my life. Just a few weeks into sessions made me see things differently. It was like peeking through the looking glass and seeing things in a different light.”

I attended the ESC Accord program and, while I faced some challenges, particularly with the cost and occasional difficulties in rescheduling sessions (issues others have also mentioned in their reviews). I want to highlight the tremendous positive impact this experience had thanks to Ms. Judy Staples. As my second counselor (my first had a very different and less effective approach), Judy was truly phenomenal. She brought genuine warmth, engagement, and unwavering support to every group meeting. Her approach made the sessions feel welcoming and meaningful, transforming what could have been a routine program into something deeply valuable. If it weren’t for her dedication and care, I might not have gained as much from the experience. I deeply appreciate her professionalism and compassion as they made a real difference in my journey.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Accreditations

State Licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow rehab organizations to conduct business legally within a certain geographical area. Typically, the kind of program a rehab facility offers, along with its physical location, determines which licenses are required to operate legally.

Their customer service is horrible especially for the Spanish community. Their lack of empathy or I’m not exactly sure what their issue is, it’s concerning. When people call to ask for information that do not speak Spanish get shut off and they do not take a step to help someone and the attitude they have also seems discriminatory. Since they cannot help they get offended if someone tries to call and help because they cannot talk to you so how are these people supposed to complete their programs????? Answer me that????????? I did my research and it turns out it’s an Episcopal program that condescends people that’s not how things should be what a shame.

The fact these people think they're "Christian" or "God Fearing" is hilarious. Don't let them fool you. The only thing the counselors, office workers, program manager and accountants care about is money. They do not care about you or your situation. It took this organization 8 months, from November 2025 until June 2026, to give me a refund from 2019. The classes are a rotation of the same material over and over. The counselors allow inappropriate discussions between clients and do little to intervene, even when the issue is brought to their attention. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT MONEY. Really God like, isn't it?
