I’m now 14 years sober and I truly have NLR To thank for that. They would go out of their way for me in ways that I’ve never seen a recovery center go out of their waiver addicts, and it made me believe in recovery again. Although this was not my last stop on the recovery train, it was my favorite stop, and I truly cherish everybody who was there. RIP Terri She gave me so much valuable knowledge that I could never forget. The staff always made me feel like family. It’s a calm, supportive place where you can actually focus on getting better and figuring things out. What makes this place different is the staff. Every person I met has been through addiction themselves, so they truly get it. You’re not talking to people reading from a book. You’re talking to people who have lived it and come out the other side. That shows in the way they listen, the way they talk to you, and the patience and compassion they bring every day. The groups were helpful and real. People share honestly and support each other. The counselors and techs are down to earth and always willing to talk if you’re having a rough day. You can tell they care and want you to succeed. If you’re looking for a place where people understand recovery on a personal level and treat you with respect and kindness, I’d recommend New Life Recovery Center. When I gave birth, our baby wasn’t breathing and was diagnosed with HIE. It was one of the scariest moments of our lives, but their Level III NICU team did everything they could to save and care for our baby boy. The NICU doctors and nurses are truly rockstars. They were not only skilled, but also incredibly sweet, patient, and loving. Special shoutout to Nurse Aisha, whom we communicated with the most, and to the entire NICU team who cared for our baby like he was their own. ❤️ I also want to thank Nurse Quynh from Labor & Delivery, who stayed with me, encouraged me, and literally taught me and my husband how to support me to push my baby out. 😭🥹 The nurses in Mother & Baby continued taking such good care of me even though our baby was in the NICU. They still made sure we had supplies for both me and our baby and never made me feel forgotten. Unfortunately, I developed serious postpartum complications from preeclampsia and pulmonary edema and had to be readmitted for 1 week. The Labor ER team took great care of me, and I was eventually transferred to the CVICU. Nurse Yangyoon, Nurse Dana, and the rest of the CVICU team were so attentive and compassionate. I wish I could remember everyone’s names because they all deserve recognition. They constantly checked on me, made sure I was comfortable, and even offered to coordinate with the NICU so I could visit my baby whenever I was well enough. Even the nurse leaders would personally come by and check on me. I eventually spent most of my recovery in Antepartum, where Nurse Spring, Nurse Karen, Nurse Asia, and so many other wonderful nurses cared for me. Again, every single person was kind and accommodating. Even the housekeeping staff, cleaners, and nurse techs were incredibly nice and caring. The respiratory therapy team who helped with my breathing was wonderful as well. The facilities were clean, the rooms were comfortable, and honestly, the hospital food was surprisingly good! 😂 I was also impressed by how convenient everything was—labs, treatments, and even X-rays could be done right in my private room when needed. Our hospital bill was definitely very expensive 😭, but thankfully our insurance covered it, and Good Samaritan’s billing team worked directly with our insurance to help get everything processed. I know everyone’s experience can be different, but despite everything our family went through, we had an amazing experience at Good Samaritan Hospital. During some of the most frightening days of our lives, we felt cared for, supported, and safe. If I ever give birth again, I would still choose my birthing team from Sutter Health, especially Dr. Nidhi Jacob, and I would absolutely choose Good Sam again. The doctors, nurses and quality of care is amazing. And the facilities doesnt feel like a hospital. I felt like I was in a hotel being well taken care of. My husband agrees as well as everyone in the hospital was supporting him since both me and my baby are in different ICUs. They even gave me a room near the ICU so my husband can easily check on me to take care of me then our baby. Thank you so much to everyone who took care of me and our baby. We will never forget what you did for our family. ❤️🥹 Jessa Savellano 2 weeks ago Pre-op was very organized- the room was fine and the food was very good Randy Medina 2 weeks ago Past ER visits were seamless but the most recent was rocky and unpleasant. The ER was busy but everyone was on point and helped the incoming patients with efficiency. Unfortunately the on call doctor this time was not easy to talk to and did not respond to my concerns. In the past my concerns about kidney problems were born out so treatment was swift but the last visit was more complicated by side effects of GLP-1 so when the main worry about kidney issues was proved not to be the problem, the pain experienced was discounted as muscle strain, when it turned out not to be. After leaving the ER and consulting other sources the problem turned out to be a known complication from GLP-1 which the on call doctor seemed to know nothing about. Also problems with blood draw caused some resentment among the staff which was very uncomfortable for me. The Good Sam ER is usually the best. Sadly this last visit, which my endocrinologist advised me to make, was not so great. Normally, however, Good Sam ER is a really remarkable place. Pat Joh 2 weeks ago

I came here severely addicted and further traumatized by what I put myself and my family through. I needed a place where I would be treated with dignity, individually recognized for what has been ailing me and personally encouraged. This what I found here, and with a genuine compassion I have never seen or felt as an addict. There is an exceptional quality here, from checkng-in through medical treatment, group processing, education, abundance of nutrition, therapy excercise, wellness and technical assistance. With a maximum of five other clients to go through the recovery process with, the Directors of the program and even the CEO rolled up their sleeves personally caring for my recovery process. For the first time in my life since I was introduced to substances I don't hate life without them. It has been almost five months since I left wellness Retreat and I still go back on Monday afternoons to join the dance classes that gave me so much hope and happiness when I was feeling so low and dark in the beginning. I was very grateful to be able to get a bed quickly (the very next day). This is not a resort or a vacation, it's a rehab. You won't find a spa or masseuse here, but you will find a safe and supportive environment to work on yourself. The staff was helpful and kind, but of course they are humans too. The main counselor was very helpful and intuitive - she was able to pinpoint what some of my personal issues to focus on were. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone who is serious about working on themselves. Other facilities might have more amenities, more people, etc. but I found that having less external distractions helped me get a lot more out of my time here. Update 3 years later: still doing well, and still using the knowledge I gained here. I read the reviews and expressed my concerns upon admission. My experience was overall positive. I didn't have trouble getting in contact with the facility using the unit phone number provided. My son felt safe. He didn't have any complaints about the staff. He said the food was pretty good. I didn't give 5 stars because some of his personal belongings weren't returned including a hat, glitter paper, and cards and letters written by loved ones that he was never given or allowed to see. Also because I don't think it was time for him to be released yet and he was readmitted to another facility within 72 hrs. I'm humbled by the work God is doing within this incredible organization. I'm usually there twice a month and able to meet their students and work with the staff. In doing so, I've been able to get to know many of them. They've shared heart breaking stories of the bad habits which have nearly destroyed their lives. However, if they can survive the first few months (the hardest part of the program!) their spiritual souls are revived and they begin to live in hope with a new perspective that transforms their minds to overcome the addictions which have chained them. It's hard to explain, but each time I visit and get an update from them, I can see the power of God at work. It's what keeps bringing me back to serve so I can witness the miracles and encourage these ladies not to give up. If they can hang in there, Teen Challenge will teach them not only what they need to survive, but to thrive in a life after addiction. Every year I return to their annual Galas and am reunited with former students who update me on their successes and how grateful they are for staying the course and trusting God through the process. Our Lord has rewarded them, and often times they tell me that they thought they knew who God was when they entered, but during the course of the program they truly find Him and their life hasn't been the same since! I have no idea how the staff has the capacity to love, extend grace, share their wisdom, and encourage so many women with all that happens at this center; but it's inspiring to know that they can do it with the help of God. When I come across difficult situations in my own life, I just remember the tough love and grace of God from the Teen Challenge staff members and I try emulate the same with the people I encounter. Life in the Center isn't easy, but the year commitment to the program is worth it. I've witnessed it on a regular basis and I thank God this program exists to help those overcoming addictions, and for those of us who want to volunteer and make the world a better place. It takes faith and discipline to succeed, but Teen Challenge has the love and patience to see you through. I highly recommend this organization over many of the other rehab places who have a far less success rate. These two amazing staff members were willing to assist me with the most time consuming and non gratifying time suck of a need that I was being tasked with - and then my seeking any resources so that I could move forward with a DMV stipulation that was affecting my life and family negatively. I was tasked to archive information that was from 1997 and the time window for any archived records was a guaranteed removal and gauranteed disposal of property and wasn’t available for ten full years now. THESE TWO ANGELS took Rene time to hear how this stipulation would not allow me to work and earn money for my familiy. That was an experience that I believe should not be missed! BUT WAIT!!! They triple deckered BLEW MY MIND in the non prompted “Hey I will do this for you bit might take an unspecified amount of days so please be advised that expectation versus reality I might not be able to get this to you until the end 30 day period. That blue mind because too wonderful and professional were willing to work for this one person has getting a California sales license for car sales they were willing to help me and they’re willing to help you and I find that many many people take the time to complain about bad service and it’s just my humble opinion people generally don’t complain about their grades and I just liked it promise and show love to people who do the right thing so much for offering your help to a person that was really made of God is good you obviously has some favorites lol .
