I want people to understand something important about the program. When you complete it and leave, the medications they use as “crutches” (like SSRIs) are not designed to be permanent solutions — but they don’t really prepare you for what happens when you try to come off them. In my case, when I finished the program, I was left with nothing but “good luck.” No tapering support, no real plan, no follow-up guidance. The withdrawal from SSRI medication was a horrific experience, and I had to seek out a separate doctor on my own afterward just to cope. People should know going in: the program does provide structure and tools while you’re there, but the aftercare is lacking, especially around medication dependence. Be ready to advocate for yourself and find outside medical support when you leave.

First of all, if you or a loved one are struggling with addiction of any kind, please know there is hope. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong, stay connected, and never lose faith. ARP has truly been an angel sent into my life. I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. When I thought my world was ending and I was losing all hope, they stepped in—for both me and my daughter. Now, about five years later, I can honestly say they saved my daughter’s life, and in many ways, they saved my family too. It’s not magic—it takes hard work—but none of it would have been possible without the people who work there. I may forget some names, but Jeff in particular is a gift from God. He does his job with love, empathy, honesty, a sense of fun, and unwavering dedication. I truly hope ARP can help you or your loved ones the way they helped us. I know every journey is different, but from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the very best. Thank you, ARP and team, for everything you’ve done for my daughter. Watching her grow free from chains and thrive is priceless. Thank you!

Ms.Tameka (Front desk personnel), Ms. Shay, and Mr. Lindsey (MH Case Managers) made a profound impression on me during my first visit. Their responses to my questions were informative and well-thought out. And they didn't seem burnt-out or angry but seemed to enjoy their positions there. They all showed a sincere passion for helping others with their issues and concerns. I felt empowered and encouraged after the consultation was completed. Thx so much.

This place is amazing! Being on Methadone maintenance has LITERALLY saved my life! I've been on MM since 02/19/2015. My biggest complaint would be the staff turn over. Thru out my years I've had at least a handful of counselors. It is hard at times to completely open up when there's been soo many. My counselor now, Frances, is amazing! Definitely one of my top favorites. There's been a ton of nurses. Some good, some NOT. Reading the other reviews I see alot of people blaming the CLINIC for their shortcomings if YOU do the right thing, if YOU dp the next right thing then u won't have these problems!! What YOU put in to ur treatment is exactly what u get out of YOUR treatment! I can't say enough GOOD things about this place. I'm sure I'll be a "Methadone lifer" and I'm ok with that. It sure beats the alternative!aptly I see alot of people complain about the price. My insurance finally pays for my meds but for years, I paid. $15/day is sure cheaper then buying off the street. A million times CHEAPER.

My review is solely based on our interaction with a staff member named, Christine. We have a family member with mental health and cognitive disabilities, she was patient, kind, and empathetic to our concerns and questions. We showed up to bring clothes, and asked to speak with someone about his care. She took time out of her busy day to answer our questions, give us peace of mind, and even took the initiative to request for our family member to get a room change to a quieter floor where he would get the specialized care he needs. We wanted him to get the best out of his stay as this wasn't his first time at a facility. She made us feel assured he would by writing down all of his medications he's prescribed and documenting the medications they did not have in stock, provided us with an example of their daily schedule, and assured us she would do her best to get him moved to a quieter, less busy floor of the facility where he would get specialized care for his special needs. We greatly appreciate Christine making us feel heard and understood to get our family member taken care of during his time here. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! You are a true testament to someone who serves others and cares about their patients well being. Please share this review with her, she went above & beyond our expectations and spent a good amount of time answering questions and reassuring us he was in good hands with the specialized care he needs.

I had a very pleasant and reassuring phone experience with a lady name Jasmine, who works in their admissions department. I was overwhelmed as I tried to track down a family member with very little information as to where she was at within the Lakeview Facility Jasmine was very kind and patient as she helped me to navigate through this process. It was also refreshing to come in to contact with a person that can still demonstrate, a professional and respectful demeanor in the midst of a challenging role. I thank Jasmine for putting my mind and heart at ease.💜

Our son was released from Lakeview yesterday, following a two week stay. This was his 3rd psych hold this year, probably his 20th in the last 5 years, but his first trip to Lakeview. He's been through the ringer, as have we. Through this 5 year nightmare, we've come to know what to expect from stabilization hospitals. Lakeview's rating was slightly lower than some of the others, which always made us more leery of it, but we recognize many of these patients are held against their will and, likely, not apt to leave a fair review. We were pleasantly surprised by Lakeview. For one, they actually answer the phone. We know this is uncommon. Everyone we spoke with was attentive, compassionate and responsive. Nurse Banks was especially helpful, and there were others that should be noted, but I didn't catch their names. Our son is much better than when he arrived at Lakeview. That should've been our expectation, but it wasn't, after he came home worse from Peachford and Ridgeview earlier this year. Another thing to note, Lakeview actually called in his prescriptions upon discharge. Thank you for that! That's never happened before, which is a major problem when you have a serious mental health issue and can't miss your meds. I can see Lakeview is trying and our family appreciates it. We have a long road ahead of us but appreciate Lakeview getting our son back on track. At least we have a chance.

Staff was nice, activities were engaging, food was okay just not that healthy but overall good, the rooms and overall place was clean and well maintained. The only thing I did not like was that you barely see your social worker and doctor. I also noticed that the hospital is very understaffed and overworked which leads to misunderstandings with patients and sometimes inattentiveness. For reference I stayed in Unit 4 and was there for 5 days. Compared to other mental hospitals around the metro Atlanta area, I would say this one is one of the safer ones.

This facility is terrific. The staff is friendly and kind, and the Director, Mel, is a great counselor and clearly cares about her patients. She is experienced and street smart, so don't try her! If you want out of the street life and opioid addiction, and are committed changing your life, TANG can help. But the rest is up to YOU. If you do what you're supposed to do and stick to the script, this place with help you. If you're not ready to commit to it, not trying to get your life together, show up late, put in minimal effort, always make excuses, pay late, try to beat drug tests, etc, you'll likely complain and project your issues onto the staff or facility rather than being accountable for your own actions. Don't do that. Let them help you help yourself, and you'll be happy you made the change. But if you're looking for a way to get over, and keep playing yourself.. this may not be for you! Otherwise, this place is 5 Stars!

I'm May of 2020 after completing a 30 day treatment for my disease of addiction I was suggested to go to Clarkston 12 steps AA meetings to continue on my recovery process and upon the continual attendance and participation in my recovery in the room . I received spiritual tools to use to aid me along the way and gained more insight as to what was the cause of my inability to stop wrecking my life and the lives of others. And found the purpose of my existence was to be of service to my fellow man and in following thru with that the obsession of self sabotage was lifted and the idea of returning to a life of misery of drinking was smashed and I'm grateful for the power that is in the meeting that brought me into the reliance on a power greater than myself

My son was diagnosed with ASD at 14 and we were having major behavioral, educational, and social challenges with him that increased greatly as he hit puberty. While in a rural area of WY, we had asked his Psychiatrist when he was 5-6 years old if he was autistic (we had also discussed it at 2-3) and it was determined that he had adhd /odd with many "autistic tendancies", but she said she didn't like to "label children" unnecessarily as they would have that label the rest of their lives and since the medications and therapy we had him in (since he was 4) was the same for both, she didn't suggest we have him tested. We had no idea the huge issues that lack of testing caused as he continued to grow. He started ABA Therapy as soon as we knew he was autistic and while we had a small amount of success, by that time he was so angry and frustrated at not being able to express himself and having his peers treat him differently that he became unmanageable. We had him admitted to Laurel Heights Hospital in Atlanta GA for residential ASD treatment and he stayed there for 7 months. He improved SOOO much! While his growth is not done, he now understand better what is occurring (and so do we) and has tools to help deal with it. I would give them a 5, but there are a few workers on the residential ward that were curt and seemed to be mostly there for a paycheck. But that, by far, was the exception to the quality everyone else delivered! If we had any further need for more treatment as he continues to evolve, we would have no qualms in using Laurel Heights Hospital's services again!
