Was there during Christmas of 2024 and it was the best thing I could’ve ever done for myself. Amazing 24/7 nurse staff that literally saved my life in the middle of the night. An amazing counselor team, men and women’s therapists that were actually some of the easiest therapists I’ve ever gotten to talk to. Couldn’t recommend a better place to help you recover. And honestly, the people giving one star reviews and such are people that do not want to recover. This place is not a hotel or a spa that’s gonna rub your feet through the process. You are going to be sober 100% if you do what they tell you and that’s that. When I was there I would see people constantly go up to ER (needed) and come back a week later looking so much healthier and active. Never ever ever would I imagine Powell to turn people away unless they were completely full or even recommend someone to go somewhere else. I said it already but I’ll say it again, these people did not want to get sober, period. This Probably 2 months ago The staff at Powell are the kindest, most caring and attentive people. Matt takes an interest in every patient. The councilors are available anytime to talk. The facility is clean and quiet. AA and NA meetings are attended daily with small group and community groups for healing and therapeutic purposes. Each patient is an individual and many small focus groups are held to give more pointed treatment. Inpatient treatment is compassionate and still individualized. Outpatient and Continuing Care keep patients focused and recovery driven. I am grateful for my experience and recovery is within your grasp. Tyler not only listened to every concern I have, attentively, but she then proccessed to go out of her way to correct a bunch of issues I was having with the above described problem. She also helped rearrange things so that I could see the right doctor (I was actually scheduled for the wrong doctor). Not only that, but she got me in the very next day after this mishap. Tyler is a great nurse and, from what I can tell, she is an even better human being. There are two ladies at the front desk who have also gone out of their way to help me in recent weeks. One is a woman who usually wears rainbow colored glasses. The other is a Latino/Asian woman who usually checks people in. In the last couple of weeks, both of these ladies have gone out of their way to help me resolve the red tape issues regarding the surgery I need. They have printed files for me, rescheduled things for me, and done all kinds of other things to help he through this health/red tape issue I am having. I wish I could remember their names but I can't. Finally there is Dr Lashelle Goody. This was my first time meeting her. She, like Tyler Curtis before her, listened to all my concerns and health issues attentively and carefully. To make a long story short, she then proceeded to help set me up with a number of appointments that should lead to be getting the surgery I need. We talked for a long time and she was fully committed to helping me. It seems she went the extra mile for me as well. I wish I could remember the front office women's names who I described earlier, so I could properly name them. Powell saved my life. Was there during Christmas of 2024 and it was the best thing I could’ve ever done for myself. Amazing 24/7 nurse staff that literally saved my life in the middle of the night. An amazing counselor team, men and women’s therapists that were actually some of the easiest therapists I’ve ever gotten to talk to. Couldn’t recommend a better place to help you recover. And honestly, the people giving one star reviews and such are people that do not want to recover. This place is not a hotel or a spa that’s gonna rub your feet through the process. You are going to be sober 100% if you do what they tell you and that’s that. When I was there I would see people constantly go up to ER (needed) and come back a week later looking so much healthier and active. Never ever ever would I imagine Powell to turn people away unless they were completely full or even recommend someone to go somewhere else. I said it already but I’ll say it again, these people did not want to get sober, period.

The staff at Powell are the kindest, most caring and attentive people. Matt takes an interest in every patient. The councilors are available anytime to talk. The facility is clean and quiet. AA and NA meetings are attended daily with small group and community groups for healing and therapeutic purposes. Each patient is an individual and many small focus groups are held to give more pointed treatment. Inpatient treatment is compassionate and still individualized. Outpatient and Continuing Care keep patients focused and recovery driven. I am grateful for my experience and recovery is within your grasp.

YSS saved my life, then gave me purpose in life. I was a very troubled kid, a burden on society, and my parents were at their wit's end. They were desperate when they turned to YSS. And while I fought it at first (couldn't stand authority), I eventually surrendered to the program/the process and my life turned 180 degrees. St greg’s helped me take the time and learn the tools I needed to get down to my core of what my addiction was. I really recommend going there with an open mind and digging deep into yourself and your past. Figure out where it all started and why it continued. I was blessed to be able to come to St Gregory Recovery Center for help with alcohol addiction. I am over one year sober now thanks to the caring and knowledgeable staff. Their approach is evidence based and scientific, but also faith based. I experienced God working in my life to help take away my urges to drink and change my thought patterns. I also learned to live the 7 virtues with a great group of peers who all supported each other! Thanks to what I learned at St. Gregory, with a clear and sober head I am able to address and “fix” other flaws and weaknesses as well. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

The only bad thing about this place is that its hard to set up an appointment. They almost never answer their phones. That said, once you get in, there is some wonderful staff. First I'd like to thank Tyler Curtis. She is a nurse there. And I came to her with a health issue that has become a major insurance hurdle for me, long story short. Tyler not only listened to every concern I have, attentively, but she then proccessed to go out of her way to correct a bunch of issues I was having with the above described problem. She also helped rearrange things so that I could see the right doctor (I was actually scheduled for the wrong doctor). Not only that, but she got me in the very next day after this mishap. Tyler is a great nurse and, from what I can tell, she is an even better human being. There are two ladies at the front desk who have also gone out of their way to help me in recent weeks. One is a woman who usually wears rainbow colored glasses. The other is a Latino/Asian woman who usually checks people in. In the last couple of weeks, both of these ladies have gone out of their way to help me resolve the red tape issues regarding the surgery I need. They have printed files for me, rescheduled things for me, and done all kinds of other things to help he through this health/red tape issue I am having. I wish I could remember their names but I can't. Finally there is Dr Lashelle Goody. This was my first time meeting her. She, like Tyler Curtis before her, listened to all my concerns and health issues attentively and carefully. To make a long story short, she then proceeded to help set me up with a number of appointments that should lead to be getting the surgery I need. We talked for a long time and she was fully committed to helping me. It seems she went the extra mile for me as well. I wish I could remember the front office women's names who I described earlier, so I could properly name them. Nonetheless I am thankful for all these ladies and very appreciative of what they all have done for me in recent weeks

I started seeing Dean not too long ago and I've had a great experience so far. He is very fast-paced which may not be suitable for everyone, but I liked him. He knows what he's doing and is patient, answered all of my questions and helped me decide what is best for me. First person to diagnose me properly too, I have a peace of mind knowing what's going on in my head. I will update with reviews as I continue going here. Some people have said it's hard to get in, but if you call and ask them to let you know when someone cancels you can get in faster.

I recently had a VCUG procedure at Iowa Methodist Hospital, and while the test itself was uncomfortable and stressful, the care I received was outstanding. Dr. Amanda Oppedal, along with technologists Olivia Jackson and Britney Smith, treated me with exceptional compassion, kindness, and professionalism. They made a very vulnerable experience so much easier by offering reassurance, holding my hand, and making sure I felt respected and cared for every step of the way. People are quick to share complaints, but outstanding care deserves to be recognized too. Iowa Methodist should be proud to have these three professionals on their team. They truly make a difference.
