The people here are absolutely amazing. They don't badger you when you go in and you haven't paid your bill in a couple of months, they don't prescribe a ton of drugs and keep you all jacked up all day. SHOUT OUT ONCE AGAIN FOR THE LEAVENWORTH VA.I have been experiencing severe lower left back pain since Wednesday. When it hits, a sunami! Can't move fast, sit easy, walk , without severe pain. Pain meds, TENS Unit, heating pad. Helps some.Decided to go the the VA Emergency Room for the first time ever. In and out in 60 minutes.From reception to pharmacy, they were outstanding. Definite 10 on a 1 low to 10 high scale!My ER Nurse was Debbie. Very personable and experienced. The Doctor was Dr. Glen Georger. Diagnosed quickly and prescribed a shot of my favorite- MORPHINE BABY! And a steroid shot. Gave me a RX for prednisone too.The pharmacist and tech were awesome.I am thankful we have a VA hospital as Dwight D. Eisenhower Eastern Kansas VA that is clean, orderly and great service. Current Inpatient resident who would like to say I came with much trepidation and anxiety. All of which I was able to shed easily on account of the staff and friendly fellow residents. Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen.EDIT: It took guys.. It really took this time. I shed the $&!t colored goggles. And the world is vivid.. bright.. and while i honestly believed I'd be dead by now... In reality I'm happier than I think I ever have been. I couldn't see it back then.

I had a terrible experience with my first child but the changes this place has made are incredible couldn t have asked for a better experience bringing my 2nd baby into this world!! Everyone was very comforting and was very attentive to my babies, my husbands and my needs!! Everybody was very informative too making sure I understood everything bout my care plan and my discharge care too! I'm originally from Phoenix and after taking my Grandfather to the VA and enduring the wait and poor service, I decided to just use my insurance. I was in my 60s and living in Winfield, Kansas before friends here urged me to use the VA. I have COPD so I decided to try Robert Dole. I was recently seen in the ER at the VA. I had bad edema in my legs with fluid buildup in my abdomen. I was seen immediately and the ER team ran possibly every test and procedure they could to get to the root cause. They treated me so well there. I was treated poorly about 10 years ago there, but they have definitely changed my views of them. After my visit they had already set up two Dr appointments for me and sent me home with medication. This is an Amazing place, with a heart for saving our loved ones from the addiction that is destroying not just them but their families as well. I have been to numerous treatment facilities, including The Welcome House, ACT, Mirrors, Therapeutic Community, Intensive outpatient treatment (at numerous locations) and Midwest Recovery Centers has been the only one that I've actually enjoyed and feel like I left a different person. It may be a bit expensive but the experience was worth every penny. I can't say enough good things about the staff, groups, cleanliness, food and the overall magic power that resides within their walls. Thank you all so much!

Very happy with grand lake they helped me out a lot and they re always so kind. This place has truly helped me be a better me. The reason I gave a 4 star tho is due to the fact that they don t know how to awnser the phone. I will call 5 times and when I get transferred over to Claremore they never pick up the phone. Then when you go in there they are all on there cell phones or just talking which is super frustrating. There were 8 people behind the counter when I came in.
