During Covid, wild crowd, the intensity of the whole world to me was making me sick. This was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. It is almost 5 years later and North Cottage stays with my soul everywhere I go. I love you guys so damn much _yes as others said, intense as in drug testing and checking mens etc. I earned trust and was able to go on runs into the woods almost every morning. This was the place I found God, I had just lost my brother and almost lost myself. I love you guys Thank you. The snow coming down in this trail i would run to each morning is a vision I can't get out of my head. Can't forget it was the men and women who ran this place, mostly men, who made this happen. Deez Nutz 4 months ago The extent that this office (I don't want to name drop in the fear of forgetting the MANY people from receptionist, to providers, to those who keep the office immaculate up to and including the owner Dr.O.) Has gone to, to accommodate me and my insane schedule, is awe inspiring! M.R. quite literally, is a model of how addiction recovery SHOULD operate. I'm a commercial fisherman fluctuating from day trips to legit 2 week plus "trip fishing" Sadly, past experiences with other providers have been difficult, at best. My current provider devised a system of zoom, in office urinalysis, and in office visits, within a specific time frame so I can literary swing by when my crazy schedule allows and I remain in compliance. If your looking for a "pill mill" or to just "skate by" M.R. is NOT going to be your cup of tea. IF your looking to get your life in order and WANT to get sober, You'll be hard pressed to find such a legitimate operation that treats everyone with class, dignity, respect & privacy. The ENTIRE staff cares about everyone as a person, not a number. They want you to succeed and offer a TON of tools & resources far beyond medications to do so. Being a fisherman, zero set schedule, never know when you'll have a day off?, If the weather is good "enough" we fish. Being in recovery & finding a provider, n.m. front of the house staff that's accommodating, is quite simply near impossible. Finding all of this under one roof at Middlesex Recovery is not only a god sent, I doubt I'd have several years sober without! I don't so much as contemplate taking advantage of anything that may compromise my treatment or recovery as without it, being un-employed, would be the least of my problems. I get nothing for writing this other than wanting to give all the staff, in ALL M.R. locations!, massive kudos & the HOPES somebody struggling reads this and just maybe this encourages them to make a phone call that may alter their life immensely as it did mine!! It "IS NOT"easy in the least bit. When Al picked me up at Cape Cod Hospital after being displaced from Bay Cove Hyannis due to a fire there...thank goodness everyone got out of that fire btw...I felt a sense of relief. He was laid back, funny...etc. Joy, Brittany 2 lol, Val, "Z", were on point. However, I must say that Amy, Sharon and last but not least Brooke all stole the show. Great intermittent talks with these three helped me get through as what I deemed a tough crowd of clients. It was very close quarters and retreating to the back tv room was essential for me. Lots of cross talk and the lack of a hearing aid for one dude was not fun but inevitable. I only had five days there so I feel sorry for the employees. They need more space in there for EVERYONE. I could go on about specifics but will just leave it at the following. When a person is disabled, homeless for a year and going through a major PTSD event...being in such close proximity to others in perhaps similar situations gave me even more anxiety than when I entered. I actually hoped to go back knowing the players changed, but was denied by intake back on the Cape. So be it I suppose. What's on your plate? What's on others' plates? You NEED to consider and be able to recognize those questions before going. Lessons in life never cease to exist just know that your destiny is in your own hands. That's how most people are able to understand more clearer. Especially with situations they are arriving with. My friend put me in touch with Mathe at Bedrock and it only took one short conversation before I knew I wanted my recovery to start at Bedrock in Canton MA. Bedrock was my 1st and hopefully last facility I’ll be in and I was blessed to have gone there. I would recommend this place to any and all that are battling addiction. The nurses and staff are all very understanding, patient, knowledgeable and kind. They want the best for you and that’s how they make you feel every day. Like anywhere, it isn’t perfect, and some of the groups can feel repetitive at times, but honestly I think there’s a reason for that. In early recovery, we need to hear some things more than once before they actually stick. I walked away with things I know I’ll continue to use outside of treatment. I especially want to shout out Mathematics. His groups were always entertaining and engaging, but he also wasn’t afraid to give you the tough love you needed to hear. He has a way of being direct without making you feel like he doesn’t care. You can tell he genuinely wants people to succeed. I also don’t know how he manages to stay in contact with and support so many people after they leave, but that says a lot about how seriously he takes what he does. Another thing I actually really appreciated was having a decent amount of downtime and some access to the outside world. I know that can be controversial in treatment, but for me it was beneficial. Recovery doesn’t happen in a bubble, and eventually you have to go back to real life. Being able to see what was happening outside, reflect on how it affected me, and then bring those struggles into groups or talk about them with staff gave me the opportunity to work through things while I still had support around me. I would much rather start learning how to handle those emotions in treatment than have everything hit me at once when I leave, which can be one of the most vulnerable times in recovery. Overall, I’m grateful for my experience at Bedrock. There were good staff, good groups, enough structure to keep me focused, but also enough breathing room to actually think about my life and what I needed to change. I was told I’d be lucky to make it back to this place… meaning that I’d be dead and not be able to make it back. I was told I would be dead cause of how “horrible and defiant” I was. I did not like AA was not for me so I was going to die. Many people that worked here told me. My case worker gossiped about me to a whole group of my peers saying “one of you is going down a dark road” really? These are the people to trust? These are the people “getting me better.” Also they said the bill would not need to be paid and I kept getting harassed by AP office I believe in Florida? So I was furious. So my initial review was one star and I left out words because I wrote a nasty review and had to erase them. I wanted to come back and edit my one star review to a five star. Cause here I am, over 5 years later, still going strong as ever in my recovery, and I have a place that is mine, I have a good steady job, and I’m free of the chains of addiction. Whether I like it or not, my experience here is what lead me to where I am today. There was some amazing staff that was overworked and under paid so if by some grace of god they are still there, god bless. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say they were trying reverse psychology on me, the staff talking crap about me to other peers, the staff saying I’d be dead. But they were not that smart, they genuinely were telling me I was hopeless. I won’t name you but I know that you know who you are. Now I sit here over 5 years later thinking that maybe if you did not spend so much time talking down and being hateful and judgmental to me, maybe all my brothers in program with me that are dead now, would still be alive if you paid them that energy. But it is what it is right? I don’t equate my success to NEATC, hell no. I put my success on my shoulders. I easily could have taken yall saying I’d be dead soon and actually gone and died. But I didn’t. I spit in all your faces and I proved all of you wrong. I did it for me. I did it for my brothers who died due to the lack of care they received wether insurance was poor or you just focused more on me being defiant than their complacent obedience to your AA. What works for some does not work for all. It’s your hate that drove the fight in me to succeed. I see my brothers in the program with me that never will get to share their smiles with the world, I can share the smile they taught me. I can share their message and I will not let them down. That’s why I have 5 stars. This place did exactly what it needed to. Just like life, drove me insane, judged me, hate on me, gave me a place to live full of rats and mice, financial issues to battle, had to face death, had to hear pain like no other, and was not the smoothest ride. But through the pain and darkness of life there is always light, you can be that light. You can change. Amidst all the bad, there was a handful of AMAZING staff and people that gave me a real life experience I will never ever ever forget. Just like life this place is not perfect, we need to take the challenges and push on. I loved this place. And always will. This place did heal me. Not how I wanted but how I needed. Just like real life. I noticed my growth as I wanted to change my one star review. Even after all the trouble, I pushed through and fought and still see the light. I am still a light that will not be dimmed. And this place is a HUGE part of the reason I am who I am today. An amazing light in a dark dark world. This place put a challenge in front of me, life is not easy, you need to put in the work, and when life punches, you need to punch back harder. We find the staff to be supportive and attentive and are grateful to have them as providers. Jessi Naff 5 years ago The nurses are Top Knots and unusually helpful and resourceful. The counselors that exist are all fair and kind, but constant short staffing and management issues cause a great place to only get a good rating. This is a for-profit clinic, so the higher up the management chain one goes, the further away an addict in recovery is from recovery. Unfortunately this company owns most of the clinics in the area, so one does not have a choice. This is also not unusual. There is no handicapped accessible entrance. You can go in the back way, around the back of the hospital, but you still have to walk a very good distance to the front door, and once inside it's very small so a person with mobility issues is going to struggle. I don't suggest anyone with mobility issues goes to this Clinic. He Corrections Officers in the back of the hospital, they have an entrance for the prisoners there. There is constant clashing with the handicapped clients and the Corrections Officers because there's no real protocol for handicapped patients. But overall this is a good place. Small, and they don't put up with any of the usual nonsense that goes on.( There are very few drug deals if at all that will go on here!). The security guard is top-notch as well and is very fair but firm. If you are not looking for Recovery, I suggest you go somewhere else because you won't last long here. I've had some personal issues with the take-home protocol as well as the short staffing resulting in treatment plans not being effectively instituted, but again this is management and has nothing to do with the day to day staff. Both the CBT and women’s DBT program. I can’t say enough good things about them. Their programs and staff really focus on wanting to help you, and the staff genuinely care. From the moment you walk through the entrance where you’re greeted by security I’m immediately put at ease. It doesn’t matter if I’ve been there once or several times, they always welcome me back with open arms. L G 1 month ago Butler is great but they need help on hiring better staff . I had a horrible experience with a nurse practitioner that lied on my progress didn’t want to change meds that were hurting and making me sick lied to staff and said I was not doing what I was suppose to do moving forward I want Gabrielle back she’s my day 1 nurse practitioner I will be requesting her when I go back in the near future you need to be careful you get as your team I recommend Gabrielle as nurse practitioner she listens she’s smart and she honest and as for therapist I recommend Sarah summers she was great she listens she gets to the point and grounds those are the people I love working with Gabrielle I know for over 7 years and Sarah is more recent . They were awesome as for others recently I had a newer nurse practitioner and she made up lies about my progress and said I wasn’t doing what I needed to which was a lie I did everything I had to do I feel she was upset that I was doing good and that’s shady she didn’t have my best interest like Gabrielle I’m requesting her moving forward I will never agree to work with that last person terrible vaules and not a match for maybe for someone else she great again Gabrielle and I been working for over 7 years there we had a disagreement I overreacted and they changed her I admit I was wrong . Butler does great partial just focus on getting rid of toxic staff members . Thanks for always supporting unfortunately some people you hire are not the best please do better butler we’re.
