Can’t say enough good things about Compass in general, but what made me write this review specifically is one of your psychologists, Cody Bond. As someone who’s seen multiple therapists and psychologists over the course of the last 10 years, Cody is the most notable one I’ve ever had and I’m so thankful for him and everything he’s done for me. Cody’s not just a great psychologist, but a great person in general and he’s never once made me feel dismissed or unheard. I’ve never cried like I lost a family member over losing my psychologist/therapist like I have today. I’m so happy for Cody and his future endeavors but I’m so sad that I’m losing him. Compass has a good one in Cody Bond and I’m so happy to see Compass recognizing him for what he does. He definitely deserves this. Cody, if you see this, thank you so much and have a wonderful life!!! 🤗

Nevada, Missouri | Heartland Behavioral Health Services in Nevada, Missouri, provides trauma-focused therapy programs to children between the ages of 4 and 17. Residential and acute hospital care are available on the 50-acre campus that is furnished with amenities and recreational therapy options. Therapy methods include sand tray therapy, equestrian therapy, creativ | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Heartland is by far the BEST residential and hospital in the state of Missouri. It’s been about 2 years since I was last hospitalized here and I’ve been to 50+ hospitals. The staff are amazing from the psychiatrist and on floor staff and nurses to the behind the scenes staff like the cafeteria and housekeeping they all care so much about patients and there well-being. Group therapy sessions here are very beneficial including animal therapy, dbt, recreational, cognitive, and maybe more that I just don’t remember. I personally think it’s awful to send kids under the age of 8 to a psychiatric hospital but this hospital is amazing with young children and the only place I would ever allow my own kid to go to. ( not that I actually have a kid.) there’s two playgrounds, a bowling alley, a game room, horses, a splash pad, tons of activities, a gym, a art room, and more. You can have your own clothes and shoes ( excluding clothing with profanity, illegal references, and strings), blankets, stuffed animals, books, pictures, fidgets. Their residential program is not one I’ve been in but as a teen with freinds who have almost all been in that program they all say it’s the most beneficial and life changing experience. I was unfortunately their for Christmas, but honestly I had an amazing day. We had lots of good and real presents, snacks, meals, activities, and chill time. It was just as good as any Christmas I’ve ever had minus the family. For parents with little ones they will not ruin Santa for your kids. If you have to choose one place for your kid or self to go to I would 1000000% recommend here.

First I want to say that most people do not "want" to be hear, so its going to be difficult to give something five stars. This isn't a vacation, its a hospital that provides help to those who need it. This is something it does extremely well at. My daughter loved the staff and said they made a hard program much more tolerable. She loved the staff and misses them still, but they provided the help she needed. I hope we never return, but if ever considering a place, please consider Heartland!!! Also shout out to Rachel, who I don't believe is ever "offwork" it could be bright and early in the morning or 11 at night and shed respond to an email from us without hesitation. Always there to help us along the way and of course help my daughter.

I honestly had struggled at the beginning of my stay at heartland I was in subacute then I moved to residential when I was on subacute I had very bad anger problems I would always wanna fight, then when moving to unit 2 west I still wasn't making any progress in my treatment,so my team at heartland decided to move me to 2 central at first I was like "no I don't wanna move units" but as time passed I came to realize that it was for the best and that I could try harder to focus on myself yes not gonna lie I did have anger issues when I moved to 2 central but after awhile I learned how to manage my emotions I had went through hell and back while being at heartland but I had a whole team to help me get through it all I was in the facility for 8 months and now I'm getting on my feet and becoming a better version of myself I really can't think the staff at heartland enough for picking me up when I was feeling down and I don't know if I would be the person I am becoming if it wasn't for them they seen me cry the seen me mad the seen every little thing about me and not gonna lie at first I didn't trust anyone not even my therapist Desmond but as time went by I started talking to people at how I really felt I can honestly say that heartland has saved me from ruining my life and I used to not be good at school until I went to heartland when I started to do school there I worked really hard and I finished so many classes before I left and now it's like I can do anything I want me ive learned so much about myself and what I want to do with my future the staff also encouraged me to follow the same dream I've had since I was 5 so that's what I'm going to do I'm going to go to college and I'm going to be a play therapist for kids that is struggling and needs the extra support I'm going to help pick kids up when they are feeling down I will be the person that they can count on cause I know how much heartland has done the same for me so shout out to Desmond fleener for being the best therapist for me and showing me how to manage my anger and how to trust people again!!

If you've come across this, It's probably fair to say, Life hasn't been a walk in the park lately, And you're looking at possible options to get help. You might be asking yourself, Is MAT right for me? I always tell people, If you have tried other programs, And treatments that have not worked for you, Then MAT is probably for you. The great thing is, BHG has an amazing staff, From Doctors, Nurses, And counselors, That can talk with you, Answer all of your questions, So you can make an informed decision. If you feel this is a good fit for you, The staff are there to help you navigate through the process, And get you on the road to recovery. I love that they make you a part of the game plan, While creating a treatment plan designed to fit each person's specific needs. At this point, You're probably just desperate to have some normalcy back in your life, And probably struggle to remember what life was like "Before". If you've read this, Please do yourself a favor, And pick up the phone and call them, It may be the most important call you ever make, Help is available!!
Nobody is going to judge you, Or look down on you, The entire staff is there to help! I love my counselor, And he's available to me any time I need, Not just during normal buisness hours. Everyone I've encountered here, Are there because they care, It's not just a paycheck to them. No matter what you decide to do, Or avenue you choose to take, I wish you all the best in your journey. Just know they're here if you need, And the staff truly care, And want to help you get better! Recovery is possible!!
