My Care Coordinator, Mary is BEYOND excellen!! She helps me with mental health relaxation techniques, resources, medical paperwork, etc. She got me on Medicaid and got me signed up for EBT, by helping with the forms. She sees me weekly, and is so helpful! She's become an important part of my life over the years, and has helped tremendously in my mental health care!! She's a great listener, with empathy and helps to find solutions that work for you. My Counselor, Linda is kind, very open-minded, a FANTASTIC listener, and is such an important part of my healing as well. She helps keep me accountable to my goals. My Psychiatrist, Dr.Kahnuja is extremely perceptive, and he works with my other Doctors in my treatment, and with labs, etc. He really listens to what I need, and he's really easy to work with. He always asks about my Mom, who has dementia. They all do! That means a lot!! They're all very compassionate, understanding, patient and they work together to help their patients. I've had bad experiences in the past, but this place is a whole new world in comparison to the past. They have a clubhouse for us to attend with apparently many activities and trips sometimes, I've heard. I've never attended. They give you tools, resources, talk therapy, medicine, if needed, etc. They go by your income, and it's free if you are low enough. They also have a program that will pay for mental health medications, if you have no income, or if it's low enough to fit into whatever their guideline parameters are. They have many other programs too, including housing, if you fit their guidelines, I think you have to get disability or something to qualify. Just advocate for yourself, don't be afraid to ask. I've had a PHENOMENAL experience with my team, and I can't vouch for all of the employees, but the ones I've had contact with, they're all great and indispensable to my mental health care!!
Take care,
Amanda Heath
