I'm now 40 and came to this place back in 1999. I hated being there but to be fair didn't have much to complain about. Bt time is been there 6ish months I didn't want to leave. I learn so much being there that I'm still grateful to this day. I earned freedom to walk the grounds unsupervised with permission as well as helping give tours to potential clients. I rode horses often did cattle branding of calves of course and did artificial insemination. I did small engines and wood working along with horticulture which were all a blast. There was a lot that happened in the dorms with the girls but what do you expect when you have so many girls with sick am array of issues. A huge part of getting something from these programs is if you want to. If your ready to get better. The staff members were all fabulous I can't think of anyone who I didn't like. I always felt genuine concern from them. I was even given the privilege to go off campus 1x a week to do gymnastics. I still to this day have small decorated box given to me as a gift upon leaving from a staff member named Marilyn. When you opened it it has a tiny box with a small now that says it was filled with her love. I'm not sure what has happened but, this place turned my life around and who know where it be today without it. So Thank you so so so much. Sorry for the delayed post lol.

YBGR was lowkey really nice, I loved it there. The food isn’t top tier but it’s a pretty good treatment place in my opinion. Sometimes there’s some stupid and scary stuff that will happen like fights, but it is to be expected in treatment. But I liked it and I felt it was useful in the long run. I struggled with some staff but I really loved my staff in my lodge. Also, you will get consequences/accountability's for not following the rules, but I think it’s a good thing set in place to hold people accountable. (I’ve gotten a bit of a fair share of consequences so it’s from experience). The place really helped my confidence and mental health without making me a med zombie. They have a Chemical Dependency program and AA to try to help kids who struggle with substance abuse issues and they have very kind counselors with CD. Cheryl was my CD counselor and I felt like she listened to me. Also thankyou to my PM Emily and my favorite day staff Marcos and overnight Zach! They did a lot for me then they might’ve realized. Honest, treatment only works if your kid wants to work it. You can fight it and be miserable, or you can try to participate. And if you do, you’ll likely get somewhere. Please don’t blame the staff and foundation for the outcome, treatment can only work if you have the desire to get better. I was in Shumaker lodge!! 24-25

We went to CHI Williston on March 4 for a second opinion, as my son was not getting any better. His fever had returned, and he still had a dry cough. Backstory: We first went to a clinic in Minot on February 28 to have him checked. They tested him for strep, COVID, flu, and possibly other infections , but all the results came back negative. So, we went back home to New Town. A few days later, his fever returned, so I decided to take him to his pediatrician, Dr. Mulu, at CHI. Nurse Anabel helped us find an available schedule so we could get my son checked as soon as possible. Dr. Mulu made sure to gather all the necessary information about my son’s symptoms. As expected—and something I really appreciate—they started with the basics: checking his back and chest with a stethoscope, examining his ears and nose for any possible infections. I also asked Dr. Mulu if he could request a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia. I remembered a similar situation a few years ago where a doctor couldn’t hear anything unusual from his lungs, but the X-ray revealed pneumonia. I’ll never forget what Dr. Mulu told me: "We doctors also listen to parents” and something like they not just go by the book. As it turned out, my son did have pneumonia. Dr. Mulu handled the situation with great care, making sure my son received the appropriate dosage of antibiotics to begin treatment rightaway. They explained everything to us through call and gave proper instructions. Nurse Anabel was also wonderful, helping us throughout the process—from scheduling to personally accompanying us to the laboratory. They are all friendly and treat you with most respect and care. And lastly, I’d like to share my 5-year old son’s own words about what he went through/experience at both clinics “ Okay Mom, We will go to tito(uncle) doctor in Williston because they are good there.. not in the hospital-the clinic in Minot. They are not good. They are not careful. When they checked my nose , they are not good. But in williston.. they are careful, they are friends “ Even the kid can tell! Thank you to CHI pediatric department. You are all good!

this is the worst hospital i’ve ever been to. they’re rude, not thorough, talk about you to other workers in non-professional manners— i literally heard why somebody was in and them laughing at him well i was getting checked in— the nurse practitioners don’t know what their own protocol is, and again, they’re rude. i was not given a single warning when i was stabbed with the needle for my blood count, and as somebody who is afraid of needles, that sucked. somebody cut in line with the number before mine, so i was upset because i’m in pain and wanted to get out of the hospital, but let her go in front of me— not like i had much of a choice— just to find out the order doesn’t matter anyways so the numbers mean nothing. worst hospital i’ve ever been to. everybody looks like they hate their job and nobody seems to really even know what their job is. i felt more like cattle being moved around then an actual person. if this weren’t the only ER in town, i’d never come back.

I cannot say enough how fabulous the team working one evening were when I showed up with my son. He was in seriously rough shape very, didn't make it past the front door. Emt was called to get him to the hospital. The staff were truly amazing from how they treated my son in kindness, communicating with firm but soft tones. Tim went above and beyond to personally connect with my son as much as he could under the circumstances. He truly cared for his well-being. Tim negotiated for my son to be able to have a cigarette and calm down before he would let EMT help him. My son will be admitting it soon. If this is the level of care I can expect, I am deeply hopeful that my son will find his reason to get the help he needs. Thank you, Team. thank you, Tim. Amazing experience! I have just completed family week, visiting a family member and learning so much. I can not say enough great things about the staff or the program. We had a hiccup during our visit with our family member in treatment. It was taken care of in a timely, caring, fully supportive manner. I went for my family member, and I left learning about myself. I highly recommend that if you have a loved one or struggling yourself to consider Rimrock Foundation, my greatest thanks is to Polly for an amazing family program, Traci front desk for truly caring. And Melissa for going above and beyond for our family. Thank you, is just not enough.

This place saved my life. I’m a successful person within the community thanks to them. Great goal, lots of studies back the methods they use. Kids will be kids, some won’t listen. But the ones who do become successful. Remember, it’s a TREATMENT facility. It’s not for fun. It’s difficult, but so is learning the hard way. It does have some flaws though. Staff accountability lacks slightly. Punishment system was a bit overwhelming. They might have fixed these though. Stress is different than safety. It’s not impossible. Nor is it hard if the kids apply themselves

I went to this place when I was about 17 so about 3 years ago. When I got there I had a bad cold and I told the staff but when I got to my lodge they treated me like a smoker because I had a sore throat and reprimanded me for using to many tissues. The second night I was there, there was a riot. For most of my stay there some of the staff genuinely wanted to help the kids. Although it seemed more of them liked the power they had over others. If one of the staff members didn't like you and they where close friends with one of the higher ups it was there word against a mentally ill kid's. I really wished that they didn't put kids with varying mental illnesses together because in my lodge there where some kids with narcissistic tendencies that would prey on kids that where victims to that at home. All of the kids where treated like we had anger issues and or violent, but that wasn't the case for everyone. Such as myself, I went there because of my suicidal tendencies. My parents ended up pulling me out of ybgr because one of the staff members accused me of punching walls and since she put that on record my stay was going to be extended. That place was not a good inviroment to help children. I did have some staff I came to respect that treated me and the other kids with kindness. Although, that was mainly at the school house. In the lodges some of the staff egged on the fighting and lying. I also went here to get more therapy but I ended up only seeing my therapist once a week or only every other week. Which was way less then when I was not in ybgr. If you are thinking about putting your kid in this program please look for other options first!

Dr Bakko I was referred to for administering multiple tests. As part of this he interviewed me and I am very poor at that. He helped keep me focused and many times had to patiently go back to probe deeper to clarify and really understand what I was saying. Because of my emotions, it’s like a freight train driving through his office. He’s gifted. The tests were administered in a very private, proffessional, clean, and quiet area. He is very organized and proffessional. He reviewed my answers and again made it very comfortable and open to discuss why I answered the way I did. He asked many different questions to understand my concerns. He was very patient and caring to make sure he understood my answers. A real medical proffessional!!!!
