About the Facility

New Beginnings Ministry helps women overcome life destructive behaviors such as alcoholism, eating disorders, co-dependency, anger issues, self-loathing, self-harm, and low self esteem in a safe and loving environment. They are located in Martin, Georgia.

The addiction related services offered at New Beginnings are for women only. They include long term residential, family programming, and group therapy.

Residential treatment at New Beginnings is a 12 month long term program that begins with connecting to a case worker and counselor who serves as an advocate and court liaison. Treatment planning, solution-focused therapy, motivational counseling, reality theory, and person centered therapy are a part of the residential program. A variety of theories, therapies, and spiritual counseling will exist throughout the process, allowing for a wide variety of topics and treatment approaches to be experienced.

The Family Program at New Beginnings Ministry takes place each week after Saturday visitation. Evidence based practices and theories are demonstrated through family intervention, structured family therapy, The Bowen Method, and educational teachings on enabling behaviors. The goal is to treat the entire family unit so a healthier system is in place, and relationships can be mended. It is important that the return to home is a space that offers support within a healthy environment.

Group therapy involves the therapeutic effects of processing in a group of people looking to overcome the same issues. At New Beginnings Ministry, various forms of group therapy will be offered ten times per week. Anger management, relapse prevention, co-dependency, inner healing, and Celebrate Recovery groups will be held. Working through common concerns and learning that many people experience the same struggle is helpful in creating a sense of belonging.

New Beginnings is a Christian based treatment program that has a primary goal of supporting all participants in connecting to the love of Jesus Christ. Faith based teachings and principles will be a part of every aspect of the program. The Bible will be referenced, and it’s message read, discussed, and implemented when possible.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
