This place helped me find purpose again, man. The workouts, group talks, and real convos about identity hit deep. I was lost after my injury, now I mentor younger guys here. Some parts felt a bit rigid, but overall it gave me hope and direction.

After injuring my back on the job, I spiraled into opioid addiction and it nearly tore my family apart. Coming to Shepherd’s Hill gave me a fresh start. The counselors really cared and helped me work through the emotional stuff, not just the addiction. I liked that I could still talk with my wife and kids, it kept me grounded. Wish they had more physical therapy options for chronic pain though. The campus is peaceful and the staff were supportive. This place helped me find my feet again.

I would not be the person I am today if it was not for Shepherds hill. The truth is they love all who come there and treat them with love and care. they are not perfect but they are doing their very best. And they need as much love and support at this time they are a part of me now and they have given me a family and a home. Thanks to my wonderful parents and the amazing staff at SHA I am so proud to be a daughter of God, A woman, and a Confident African american. Thanks to the Grove Baptist church and their relationship with SHA I am in the school I wanted to go to and I'm ahead in my school.
