During my 6 months here, I grew close with a lot of the guys through the workouts, hikes, group therapy sessions, and all the little moments in between. Purple’s approach is having an active lifestyle, therapy and community. I probably wouldn’t be here today if I didn’t come to Purple for treatment. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them. Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt. It felt private and secured. I want to especially note that Faith and Joy were incredible -- they were very knowledgeable, warm, and kind. You can get free testing every 12 months, free condoms, and relatively quick results (for me, STD test results within 4 business days & HIV results within a minute). First let me start with the greeting I got before I walked through the door. The security officer, April. When I say this young lady should be the face of any establishment, I’m not lying! Just a warm and genuine person! She directed me where to go and what I needed. I didn’t catch the name of the young lady at the receptionist desk. But this particular day ( not sure if it was her regular desk or not) she was sitting all the way to your left, as you’re facing the desks. But she was so pleasant and friendly also. Back to April. While I sat in the waiting area, I listened to her greet every individual that came through that door, and she knew about 90% of them by name! She told me when arrived, welcome to the best VA facility in Georgia. Again, can’t say enough about this woman! From there, I went to the triage, and that was also a pleasant experience. Went back out to the waiting area to wait for the doctor. Wasn’t pleased with the long wait time, but she, Dr. Khan, apologized right off the bat. She said she had an older vet and his wife in there before me, and he liked to talk. Which I totally understand and was appreciative of her for letting me know. But all in all, it was definitely a plus for this first timer! Now for the con: parking was awful! The Va definitely needs to invest in a larger facility and a bigger parking lot! Semper Fi! Now I have been working as an Accountant/Office Manager for a solid year, I am financially stable, have my own house and car, but most importantly I have HEALTHY relationships with my family and friends that grow stronger by the day. It brings me to tears to even think about. I have NEVER had people care about me the way staff did. Brooke Boyette would be running around the office trying to put out so many fires, help so many people at the same time, but not one time did she EVER tell me she didn't have time to talk and that still holds true today. It shows you how to love again, let others love you, and gives you a family that you can hold onto forever. If your willing to fight for your life and come out on the other side you quickly realize that nothing is personal and its all spiritual. So that brings me to the director Angela. This lady spent hours and I mean HOURS on end fighting for my life when I didn't want to fight for it myself. I say hours because I was pretty stubborn and had a hard time opening my ears when it was time for me to listen. Angela would sit and talk with me no matter how long it took, till she was sure that I had heard her. She didn't have to do that. She could have left when the office closed at 7 "I had her there late MANY nights", she could have not answered her phone on a Sunday when I found out my mom relapsed after 10 years sober and stayed on the phone with me for over an hour, she didn't have to show up in the middle of the night when we needed her, she didn't have to fight so hard for ME and MY life but guess what... SHE DID!! Not only did she do it for me but continues to do it for every women that steps foot into that program. Her compassion for the work she does is beyond anything I have ever witnessed before. She showed me how to be a better person Spiritually, Mentally, and Financially. These women are hero's and a grateful recovering addict can quickly realize the lengths they go to for ALL women that come through the program.
