The one GREAT thing about the Oakwood VA Medical Clinic is the Department of Veterans Services Representative Pablo Cruz. Pablo Cruz is highly professional, really cares about Veterans and is very knowledgeable of how the VA Disability System works. It's wonderful to know there is someone connected to a VA Medical Facility that can be trusted. I've had so many frustrating experiences at the many VA Medical Facilities I've used since returning from Vietnam in 1970 and for the most part the Oakwood VA Clinic is filled with the same type of personnel you would expect to find at any VA Medical Facility, they're there for a paycheck, not to care for Veterans. A beautiful building with plenty of parking but until the VA Medical personnel can follow the EXAMPLARY Behavior displayed by Pablo Cruz, faith in the VA Medical System will never be restored. The only reason I would use the Oakwood VA Clinic is for seeking assistance from the Department of Veterans Services Representative Pablo Cruz. He is the only reason I'm giving this facility a 5 Star rating, if it weren't for Pablo Cruz, I'd rate this facility what I rate all VA Medical Facilities, ZERO.

This place literally has changed my life. Im so glad I committed myself to this program and allowed myself to be able to make changes in my life. To the therapists, the staff, everyone was amazing! Purple is an amazing place. This program has helped me completely turn my life around. The staff at Purple is nothing short of fantastic. Everyone there genuinely cares about each and everyones recovery and helps them however they can. The program they run is unlike any other, it's very active and helps guys learn how to have fun sober again. They offer great one on one therapy sessions that are very engaging. If anyone reading this is on the fence about where they should go for their recovery, look no further. This is the place.

Currently changing my life for the better. I am 130 days sober. I extended my stay after checking myself in to Purple (my second rehab). I decided to stay 6 months because after learning how to live sober I started learning how to be a better man, father, partner, and believer. Honest rating of overall facility.
This place was genuinely a life changer for me, and I could see that in other kids there as well. I loved almost every therapist there, and most of the kids were friendly. I really liked the adolescent room because it was spacious, and it was always clean. The bathrooms never had any paper towels, but other than that the restrooms were very clean. Honestly, I can't ever remember a time that the facility was dirty or cramped.

Ashley - Ashley is awesome! During my time at Embark, Ashley ran most of our groups. She was so kind, and compassionate. I feel like she genuinely perused this kind of work because it's her passion to help people. She always listened and made sure everybody got a chance to talk. She also is very observant, and checks in if you're not having the best day. Which is really nice sometimes to know somebody notices and cares is comforting.
David - David is also a really cool guy. He ran group often. He can be a little bit rough sometimes, but everybody has different ideas on how to do things. For example, if you were sleeping during therapy, he'd bang on the table, which can be a trigger for some people. He can also be a little bit strict sometimes, for example taking the markers, or popsicle sticks that we're aloud to have with every other therapist. From what I heard he does really well as an individual, or family therapist. Overall, I think he genuinely is passionate about his job, is a good person, and cares a lot about the kids even if it might not seem it sometimes.
Elvin - Awesome dude! Elvin was genuinely so kind and always energetic. I think he wrote prescription medicine, and if you have any problems with that, he gets it resolved very fast. He only did group sometimes for adolescents when I was there, but when he did an amazing job in my opinion. He's genuinely such a cool dude he will talk to you about literally anything, he's an open book and has some pretty cool stories!
Myron - Myron was my individual and family therapist. Genuinely such a cool, funny, nice dude! I really enjoyed my individual therapy sessions with him, and he was the first therapists I felt I ever made progress with. He didn't do group much, so I can't really say if he's good at it, but I'm sure he is! He really cares about his patients.
Jamonica - Jamonica was someone who also did groups quite often. Her energy is so great, and she was soooo kind to me while I was there. She's such a sweet person, and you can really tell how passionate about her job she is. I've also heard she's an amazing individual and family therapist.
Lauren - I rarely ever talked to her. She rarely did group for the adolescents, but some of the other adolescents said she's an amazing individual therapist. I didn't not talk to her for any specific reason; she just didn't do group much and primarily was in her office. I talked to her maybe once or twice, and when I did, she was nice.
Maya - She ran group occasionally and was perfectly fine. She wasn't my personal favorite therapist, but not for any bad reason. I didn't really love the skills she taught, and how she taught them, but nothing against her at all. I'm not sure if she's an individual therapist.
Med management (Dr. Hooper) - Dr. Hooper is super friendly, and really good at finding the right medication fits for you. Php meets with her once every week, while Iop meets with her once every 2 weeks.
Maria - Maria is also a nice lady. I'm honestly not sure what she does, but when I was enrolling, she did the paperwork and stuff. You will also take outcomes, which ask you questions about how you're dealing with anxiety, depression, etc. She has access to those outcomes, so 100% feel free to ask her to take a look at them!
Overall, I think the staff is awesome!
Please check bags better, Embark. The bag checking is honestly a joke. There are people who deal with all kinds of things, and not saying anything would happen but please check better just in case.

We have been on a mental health journey with our daughter for quite some time. Nothing ever seemed to click, and past PHP programs caused only more harm and trauma with no healing. Since joining the Embark program we can see glimmers of it working. I know that she feels safe here, and has confidence in her care (as do we). We attended a family night and when they say family they clearly include the caregivers and staff along with the patients and their family. I say this because the whole vibe was joy and love. I couldn't be happier (or more relieved) about our choice.

I celebrated 2 years sober Nov 3rd. The staff are there to help if you willing to work. Facilities are clean and comfortable. They have Dr's and counselors available always.
The food is good. They just need to let guests have better access to food.

Im currently a client on methadone that has moved from Ca. to Ga. It was spur of the moment with no time to make arrangements. I spoke with ERIC on Healthqwests csr dept based on New Jersey. Fyi. Ive been in tech supt, customer service, Quality Assurance & M.I.S. For over 30 yrs Ive worn a headset and have been helping customers. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them.
Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt.
Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight.

So far it has been good I recently transferred in from another clinic they were very helpful the only thing I do not like is all medicaid recipients have to video call daily to take the dose in front of a nurse or else we are not covered by medicaid for that day. Which is a medicaid thing but thats the only difference from my last clinic

The staff at the Carter Center, and in particular my counselor, have become like family to me. After a few failed attempts at trying to get sober, I feel I found everything I was missing in treatment before here at the center. Their combination of group, individual, and holistic treatment was something I had never experienced before. I feel loved and welcomed every time I go in. I still go win every Tuesday at noon for a meeting there. I’m thankful every day for the Carter Center and what they did for me. They helped me find the me that was lost.

I graduated from the carter treatment center today.
I completed the PHP/IOP program and have 195 days sober now. I will be staying for aftercare to continue to work and focus on my recovery.
This program gave me the accountability and tools to be successful and live a life without drugs and alcohol. I am very grateful for the opportunity to come here and all the staff that was supportive and were a big part in my journey.
If you or a loved one is struggling and needs a program to recover from alcohol or drug addiction i would highly recommend choosing the carter treatment center.

Reviewing from a perspective of both personal experience as well as that of a loved one. MARR is an excellent choice for treatment, the staff all competent and qualified. There are doctors and nurses on staff/on site. Everyone works around the clock for the benefit of their residences - there is absolutely no other program that provides as complete of care as MARR does. They offer intensive care through every stage of recovery for each client. There are few other programs that provide extensive, long term, physical and emotional level care, individual and group therapy, teaches applicable life skills as well as drug and alcohol education and support. I have seen MARR do wonders for many people, from all backgrounds and situations, and leading to clients actively living productive, happy, substance free lives and contributing to the world and people around them. All of this and at a ridiculously affordable rate comparably.

The people at sunrise probably saved my life. I had been binge drinking and hiding vodka throughout the house for years before I went there. I had gone to many therapists, AA meetings, etc. Everyone there is going through the same struggle and, therefore, no one is judgemental at all. One therapist in particular went above and beyond, and I can't thank him enough. Christian not only took the time to talk to me hours after he was supposed to leave, but he called all of his colleagues to find the perfect fit for me after my detox. I've always been timid talking in groups, but he found a 15 person women's only rehab facility and it was the perfect fit. If I could give them 10 stars I would. The people at sunrise actually listen to you and truly want what's best for you.

My wife was flown in to the hospital from Stephen’s County hospital because as SCH said MGMC resources are more extensive. My wife was a hairs breath from death. A team of doctors, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center took her case , operated and took care of her heart problems that had just manifested itself while at SCH. These skilled doctors saved her life and restored her health.
I am very grateful to the team of doctors and nurses that kept watch over her for the whole time she was there, four weeks mostly in ICU.
In my opinion this is the place to go for fast, efficient and empathetic care.

I can not say enough good things about this hospital and the staff. My dear friend Pablo unfortunately passed away on the hospice floor but was in patient many time on the 5 floor green tower. The staff and doctors could not have treated him and his family with more respect. This hospital was a true blessing and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He was from Dublin,Ga and wanted to always go back to Gainesville for in hospital care. I wish i could name each person by name but they know who they are. Full disclosure: I haven’t been to this particular office . HOWEVER, I saw Dr. Sambunaris and his team years ago (late 1990’s?) for an anti-depressant drug trial. It was done with a double-blind placebo and I never knew whether I was receiving “the real thing” or not. However, over the weeks of going in and meeting with him and his team, I came to greatly respect the care and thoughtful approach that I could see came from the direction of Dr. Sambunaris. He and his team were always ready to stop the trial for a patient, should they start experiencing any negative side effects. I suppose that’s normal for drug trials, but I felt so very cared for. In all my years since then of trying therapy here and there, I’ve never experienced an office team and /or Psych doctor that was that…I dunno…warm; loving; that made you feel like it’s gonna be ok. (I know what you’re probably thinking: I haven’t found the right therapist and I need to just head to Dr. S’s office! You’re right!) At the end of the trial, during the exit interview, Dr. S. asked if I thought I was on an antidepressant (I did think so), and queried me on my thoughts. He then explained the link between depression and anxiety (who knew? I’m not even sure “Google” was born yet!). That info has been THE most helpful to me over the years - more-so than possibly ANY mental health information: That my depression wasn’t the crux of the problem; my ANXIETY was (is). I’m so grateful to Dr. Angelo Sambunaris for giving me that tidbit of knowledge so that I could learn how to better take care of myself. Hopefully, I’ll be in there soon…

I don't even know where to start. I came into Angel House 18 Months ago a hopeless addict that knew absolutely nothing about life. When I got here I had not a dime to my name, my clothes were scattered from Atlanta to Alabama, I had never held a job successfully, or had a healthy relationship in my life. Now I have been working as an Accountant/Office Manager for a solid year, I am financially stable, have my own house and car, but most importantly I have HEALTHY relationships with my family and friends that grow stronger by the day. Non of that ever felt possible until the Angel House made me realize how capable I really am. This place changed it for me, beyond anything I could have ever expected. It brings me to tears to even think about. I have NEVER had people care about me the way staff did. I never once felt like a case in a folder, and was always made to feel that what I had to say was important. I felt like someone who's voice mattered for the first time. Brooke Boyette would be running around the office trying to put out so many fires, help so many people at the same time, but not one time did she EVER tell me she didn't have time to talk and that still holds true today. Since I graduated I still call her on a daily basis and complain about life, but guess what... shes there to listen. This program does more than just show you how to live life clean. It shows you how to love again, let others love you, and gives you a family that you can hold onto forever. If your willing to fight for your life and come out on the other side you quickly realize that nothing is personal and its all spiritual. So that brings me to the director Angela. This lady spent hours and I mean HOURS on end fighting for my life when I didn't want to fight for it myself. I say hours because I was pretty stubborn and had a hard time opening my ears when it was time for me to listen. Angela would sit and talk with me no matter how long it took, till she was sure that I had heard her. She didn't have to do that. She could have left when the office closed at 7 "I had her there late MANY nights", she could have not answered her phone on a Sunday when I found out my mom relapsed after 10 years sober and stayed on the phone with me for over an hour, she didn't have to show up in the middle of the night when we needed her, she didn't have to fight so hard for ME and MY life but guess what... SHE DID!! Not only did she do it for me but continues to do it for every women that steps foot into that program. Her compassion for the work she does is beyond anything I have ever witnessed before. She showed me how to be a better person Spiritually, Mentally, and Financially. These women are hero's and a grateful recovering addict can quickly realize the lengths they go to for ALL women that come through the program. So if your ready and need to go somewhere that is going to truly change your life. You can find it at Angel House as long as your ready.
