About New Vision – HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital
New Vision Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) Good Shepherd Hospital is in Shelbyville, Illinois, about 60 miles southeast of downtown Springfield. They offer inpatient detox through Baymark Health Services’ SpecialCare Hospital Management network. The withdrawal management services are for clients dealing with addiction and co occurring mental health challenges.
The program is for individuals 18 and older who are experiencing acute withdrawal and need stabilization before progressing to an addiction treatment program. The facility accepts Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, and commercial health insurance plans.
Integrated Addiction and Medical Treatment
In addition to detox, the program ensures access to emergency medical and general hospital care for integrated treatment services. There are private rooms available for detox, and you’ll have general amenities available during your stay. Most stays are typically 3 to 5 days for stabilization and assessment.
Discharge Plans
Clients can expect a quiet and safe place where you’ll have your most immediate needs met. The programs include individualized discharge planning so clients can transition to a treatment program after detox and stabilization. A licensed physician determines the most appropriate next step, and you’ll be included in all decisions relating to your discharge care plan.

Other Forms of Payment
Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.
Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
Treatments
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
