I thibk due to the telahealth aspect people are more willing to dig into there traumas and passed. I can only hope they 1 day accept medicaid again not only for me but all the other addicts and alcoholics who cant afford insurance to 1 day be able to receive treatment in the same manor I did. I have struggled with addiction for many years and have been in and out of rehabs and IOPs. I have had both good and bad experiences, often with facilities promising services that never happened or leaving me in the dark about my own recovery plan. In January 2026, I was at my absolute worst and once again in the throes of addiction. As we know, addiction is progressive, and mine had progressed to a place that truly scared me. I had previously been in contact with a staff member from NJRC, and in what felt like my only moment of clarity, I told my husband, “Call NJRC.” From that day forward, they guided me every step of the way. NJRC helped guide me through detox and residential treatment and strongly encouraged me to continue into PHP. I was hesitant, but thankfully I trusted their recommendation. When I arrived, I immediately felt something different. NJRC treated me like a person—not a diagnosis or another client walking through the door. They took the time to know me, understand me, and make me feel like my recovery truly mattered. What makes NJRC so special is that they do what they say they are going to do. They provide weekly individual therapy—and it actually happens. Their peer-centered groups teach coping skills, encourage honest conversations, and provide tools that can actually be used outside of treatment. The staff genuinely care. They listen, they support you, they hold you accountable when you need it, and they celebrate your progress with you. I never felt like I was going through recovery alone. During my time with NJRC, I have formed meaningful friendships, strengthened my relationships with my family, regained my confidence, learned to set boundaries, and discovered my beliefs, values, and purpose. For so many years, I hid behind a mask. NJRC helped me realize that I don't have to anymore. They gave me a safe place to finally figure out who I am. Difficult things still happen, but today I handle them differently. I don't look for a drink anymore. I look for a tool. I feel today. I communicate today. I live life today. Today, I am 228 days sober, and there are not enough words to express my gratitude to NJRC. Every person there has played a part in helping me become the person I am today. They helped me rebuild relationships with my family, rediscover myself, believe in myself again, and understand that recovery isn't simply about not drinking—it's about learning how to live again, happy, joyous, and free. NJRC didn't just help me get sober. They helped me build a life that I want to stay sober for. The “rehab” I was at before coming to NJRC seemed like it could have cared less if I lived, relapsed or died. I was in excruciating pain the entire time I was there and just kept getting worse. And I thought NJRC was going to be more of the same. But thank the good lord I was dead wrong. Everyone from the techs in the housing like Alex, Luis, etc.. to the people who run the center - Ritchie, Jeremy, Tommy, etc.. helped me to get well every single day… plus, my Therapist Rachel was a Godsend. Their care and attention towards me was constant, deep, and real. They really provide the peace and atmosphere that allowed the Doctors and I to do incredible amounts of work and healing. The Doctors too were incredible, talented, and providing a very high standard of care. Food was amazing (yes it's hospital food, adjust your expectations a bit). I had steak, burritos, pho, Thai, lasagna, pasta, bbq, burgers, and more. Across 6 weeks I think they only repeated a dish 4-6 times. And there's a salad bar and panetta/sandwich bar every meal. Many kids ate grilled cheese every meal instead of grown-up food and vegetables, so I would take their complaints with a pinch of salt, hah. Reading the other reviews is amusing. Bear in mind the complaints are coming from sick people, and it is frustrating to not find a silver bullet for very real and severe illnesses. Some people enter thinking this is a spa vacation. It is not. Your healing will require you to do work on yourself as well. The more you invest in the process the more long term success you will realize (I am not a Doctor, but my peers who invested in recovery had similar progress to myself) Mason J 2 weeks ago Silver Hill took me in when I was at the lowest point in my life. There were the usual tiny wrinkles that comes with being in a hospital system but overall it was a wonderful hospital that has a lot of different specialties. The private rooms, birthing balls during labor, and the option of having your own tub made the experience even more comfortable. They also have a wonderful menu where you can choose your own breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has all the amenities you could ask for, with resources to get every aspect of your life back on track. The management and staff cares about you, and that's important when trying to better yourself. They really give you an upper hand. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House. 6 years ago After being in and out of many different rehabs, it was at Westport House that I learned how to live a brand new life. The staff was kind, loving, and compassionate. They showed me the way up and out of the horrible rut I was in. They also helped my family understand addiction, and what they needed to do to help me, and themselves. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable, and the incredibly supportive! Everyone from the friar in charge of the inn to security and maintenance made me feel welcome. The counselors are the best I’ve ever dealt with. My counselor was amazing, the physco therapist helped me realize things on my own and a former resident who is now staff related to my issues making me comfortable with the process. That guy was a godsend. These people helped me with my addiction issues more in 6 months then I’ve been able to do over the last 30 years.
