Friendly staff. My doctor always lets me ask all the questions I have, and the front desk people are very nice.

*Important* u have to bring ur own 30 day supply of your medications. I'll start with one of the most important things for me: I'm a transgender man who was treated with dignity and respect by the staff and clients alike. Rehab reviews never talk about what places are safe for us so just wanted to say that. Most of the staff rly cares. Place is clean. Food is mid. Beds are mid. But u know what? I knew where I was going to sleep that night, I knew I was safe. I knew I had 3 hot meals a day that I didn't have to search, beg for, or steal. I knew I could take a shower every day, even twice if I wanted. Laundry. Etc. The point of this center is to get u away from your life for 30 days to let ur brain and body recover from the hell you've been living in due to addiction. This is a hospital setting so there's tons of weird and frankly ridiculous rules like "no exercising" (u can power walk around the court yard but thats it) bc it's some kind of liability to the hospital?? Idk just do push ups in ur room w the door closed. Most addicts know how to work around rules and manipulate a system so just make the best of it. But fr it's insane to see and hear ppl complain about this place as if it's not a respite from being sick tired miserable. The ppl who complained the most I chalked it up to their life hasn't gotten bad enough yet to be truly ready for recovery. They don't seem to understand that the opportunity to be here is a blessing that ppl in many states will never have the chance to get. The NY healthcare system is better than any other state I've lived in. There are many ppl in other places who will never have the opportunity to go to rehab. I had a one day relapse a month after I left and now have 1 year and 11 months sober. Beginning my recovery journey here was exactly what I needed to separate my mind and body from the hell I was in. Thank u to the staff from Nov 2023. Nicole is the reason I decided to stay sober when I left. I had given up hope of staying sober during my stay but she had a long talk with me the night before I left that really changed my life.

Very structured facility. Counselors were very knowledgeable, understanding and helpful. "Sparc Guilderland", Lending A Hand When You Don't Have A Plan!!! 🙂

Food was pretty good. Counselors were alright. The ones that experienced addiction especially. The programs and groups, keep you busy. Which is good. On good days get to play Cornhole and go outside for walks. The new patio is beautiful outback.

this place has actually helped me so much, iv been here 2 times and have saved me from suicide and i’m so thankful ful there’s a place like this, the nurses there and the patients make you feel as if you have a loving family they are actual miracles, thank you four winds w.w.w.w

To start, the grounds were beautiful, an extremely serene atmosphere. The housing units seemed very comfortable for the clients and the staff were very accommodating & considerate to visitors. We had an over two hour drive to get there and they made us feel very welcome during our visit. The check in process for visitors was much more inviting than other places we have been to, the staff was very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend for anyone in this situation.

My son went here. Was the best place. The staff really helped him come out of his shell. He's smiling and laughing again. The staff was incredible and made this transition go smoothly. He got set up with a counselor before he left, and also set up home care. This facility saved my child and help me communicate better with him. Highly recommend for mental health. Plus the staff will keep you informed every step of the way

They have really great therapist doctors and counselors they have Helped me cope with many different issues and provide me with The best coping skills and have a wonderful staff very friendly caring supportive.

Been going here since 2016 my mom went there too. Never have I had a disrespectful worker there, they treat you with kindness with in reason. My therapists are always and still go out of their way to help me in most facets of my life, their jobs is to help you with your mental illness not to find jobs or to do the work for you. And in that respect sometimes they go above and beyond. I had one bad experience with a newer therapist but they asked me if I wanted a new one and they gave them to me I’ve had two others and they are the best. Even my doctor from there is awesome. They even let me change my psychiatrist. So in my experience this place with all its programs is one of the best. And I still go there and will continue. If there are any problems you caused them yourself….

I’ve been going here since my suicide attempt in May of 2017 and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the doctors I have. I’d never been able to find a therapist I clicked with until I got here (Miklos). I will admit that I endured a couple years of suffering under the spacey and aggressive rule of Dr Mittol, who used the threat of withholding refills to force me into bending to his arbitrary rules, but I was able to switch to a better psychiatrist, and once that one retired I was sent to an even better one (Dr Mantas) who I am so pleased with. I’ve even started seeing the primary care here (Dr Ferro) so I have all my needs available in one building, and I have to say he too is probably the most personable and attentive PCP I’ve ever had. It’s always clean and everyone has always been pleasant. Very little funding and care is allocated to health care in this awful country, in general, so this is of course going to be especially true for mental health services, which aren’t taken as seriously by really anyone. It is because of this national systemic problem that I think someone may have struggles getting an appointment or finding the doctor who is right for them. The benefits of this field aren’t grand, so I do truly believe the people working here are doing so because they are passionate about what they do. Some doctors are jerks (like my old psychiatrist), but please try to remember that the people here are also constantly being obstructed from providing full care by our privatized, for-profit health care system.

Slow service needs a solution

I absolutely adore my therapist Ashley and how adaptive AMC Psychiatry has been with me, especially when I needed to change my appointment time to fit my new work schedule. I also find the front staff people to be very friendly and kind. Only thing I wish to change is the front lobby smells a little musty and it puts me off quite a bit. Luckily I'm not in there for too long, but it's still bothersome

Dr. Sandra Horn was the only provider that was phenomenal!! She provided therapy for my post partum stage and after. She has moved on to pursue other goals and she is definitely missed!!!

This is a wonderful place to go to. I have been going there for about five years. I have had 2 Drs., but the one I have now is better and more caring. Why I have to see a Dr for an anti-deppresant , I don't know, but they are great. The nurse's are outstanding!! I have never had a problem there. They always address your issues.

service is good overall but the front doorbell does Not work at all and you have to shake the door to try and get someone to answer it. very frustrating especially if no one can hear you at the front desk. it's been this way for months and the employees just say it won't be fixed. clearly an error on SUNY management's part

Evidence based recovery. Where lives are changed. When you have the courage to change yourself, this is the place to be. Or, if you are scared, frightened, confused, and don't know what to do.. Come here. The treatment and support you ❤️ receive is wonderful ✨️. And it doesn't stop. If you haven't been there in a little bit, they will call you. Because they care. About you. They really, really do. I am so PROUD that this place and these people have been a part of my life. The Promises do come true 👍. Don't let your eyes fool you. This is the most BEAUTIFUL 😍 building 👷‍♂️ in the 🌎 🗺 whole wide 🌐 world.

If you are truly interested in staying clean and sober, the folks here actually want to help and will take the time to be honest and forthcoming. However, if your just looking for some prescriptions, some suboxen, or are just trying to get yourself out of trouble and aren't really interested in recovery, this probably isn't the place for you.

I was looking for home, and I liked the comments left. This pastor is amazing. He uses the Bible and connects it to current events. My son was very excited to go to church. He would take notes and highlight what we learned for the day. Every single time we left, he would say how much he loved church. I felt very comfortable coming here. Very welcoming. I had to leave because of the timing of the church, and my car stopped working. I would recommend it to everyone.

With only a few sessions, I see that Capital Counseling is a caring and professional clinic.

I have been quite pleased with the professional manner of the Mental Health Counselor (Intern) that I and my family were paired with. Greg Reid has a great deal of experience and understanding and he has been able to work effectively with my ex-husband and our daughter and myself....not an easy task to work with people in the midst of divorce! I would highly recommend Greg and Capital Counseling, especially for their great job of connecting me with the type of therapist I wanted.

I've been working with Michelle for just about a year or maybe a bit longer. She is patient, kind and skilled at asking me deeper questions to help me gain confidence and self approval. I've noticed a lot of positive feedback since working with her.

I've seen my counselor for nearly two years. She is phenomenal, and has been a rock for me while other changes in my life felt completely crazy. She has helped me to grow into a stronger person, and helped me immensely. I highly recommend Integro Counseling for anyone searching for Counseling Services in the Capital Region.

I've posted a few comments what's important is that the program works they now let u smoke bud also something alot of us worried about for take-homes but things WILL NOT always go your way I guess my advice to myself and others is simply keep going even if it gets rough and feels hard keep going even if you know your clean and a test says otherwise false positives or whatever they might be, just know that in the long run it is saving your life!!
