I’ve seen people leaving reviews of this place? Complaining about the food? Complaining that they were bored? You can always go out and smoke some more crack if you’d like! I went to this place 16 years ago. They helped me get into long-term treatment. I’m 16 years sober. After trying to get sober for about 20 years prior to that. If I had to take a guess? I’d say the people on here who were bitching about the food or their boredom? Are out somewhere getting high right now.

New hope for me was a great experience, the staff are amazing, food is great & everything else was a bonus!! Prayer group every night , AA meetings once, twice a day, art therapy sessions, games, movies, puzzles etc. You get out it what you want to! My children see Taylor and she is the absolute best of the best. I have never met someone who is so willing to advocate for not only my kids but for me as a parent as well. Even when I have to join her for a session she listens to my side and gives me advice on how to go about it. I have become a mother I never thought I could be because of her help. My kids have made so many changes in behavior thanks to her. I wish I could take her with me when I move. People like her don't come often and anyone would be lucky to have her as a therapist.

Many resources if you want them. You have to WANT to get better and make some life changes if you're going into a place like this. Definitely not the Hilton, lol. Lot of "out of order" facilities, but hey, it's a safe place to stay while you're working on getting better and there is always someone to talk to, even if it's 2 am. There are connections to outpatient therapy and free vocational resources. Oh yeah, you get your own room with a key. Sometimes life is what you make it.

My son has been working with Morris, a Recovery Coach at Mountainside for the past eight months and the experience has been exceptional for us both! Morris truly understands how to support recovery in a real world, day to day way. The coaching goes further than check-ins. It includes accountability, life skills, emotional support, and sometimes honest hard conversations. My son has learned how to manage challenges, make healthier choices and is learning how to stay focused on his long-term goals. The progress he’s made has been remarkable and I credit much of that to the consistent well informed coaching he receives. Not only does Morris provide coaching to my son, his expertise extends to me as well. He is highly responsive and always follows through. Mountainside’s Recovery coaching is more than a service. It feels like it’s a true partnership. As a mom navigating this process, I am grateful for the guidance, structure, the encouragement and situational advice Morris provides. I would recommend their coaching without hesitation to any family who’s looking for meaningful sustained support around sobriety. This has made a significant difference for my family. Early recovery, albeit exciting, can be fragile, and I cannot imagine having gone through this experience without the coaching Morris provides.

First, I want to give a big shout-out to a few of the PCCs and staff members who truly made a difference. Stacy—thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and kindness. I truly hope you achieve everything you’re working toward. You would make an incredible counselor. The way you treated us with respect, compassion, and genuine care says so much about your work ethic and your character. Ash and Mike S - thank you for your patience and for always treating us with love, kindness, and respect. You made us feel like human beings, and that means more than you know. Stephan, Johnny, Gary, and Antwo—thank you for everything. The list of people I appreciate could honestly go on. Joe—you’re the man! Thank you for helping me even when you didn’t have to. And to my counselor, James—I’m truly grateful that our paths crossed. Thank you for your guidance and support. To anyone considering coming here: if you’re serious about getting help, staying focused on your goals, and working on your sobriety, you can absolutely succeed here. I owe Ed Thompson V.P. my life... I entered these doors with a mission to get clean. Together, with staff intervention we developed a service plan that set me on a my path for long term sobriety. It works people. However, it is not just given to you. You have to work hard for it. I DID. July 15, I will be 3yrs no illicit Drugs, 6 months no Alcohol. An amazing group of individuals helping those of us who not only want or need help, but are there helping us work through not only our addictions but emotions. 10 out of 10 Would recommend if you’re in need… pretty much anything that will make you feel better about yourself by helping you… understand yourself. And it’s nice to sit in a group of peers judgement free. There is nothing but love pouring out of this place. And as a side note after reading lower rated posts. I have no insurance and they have done absolutely nothing more than help me and be there for me. Please if you feel you need some help, give them a call. It’s worth it.

Came to NYC for vacation. Got drunk, fell getting out of the shower in the hotel. Busted my eyebrow open. Went to the VA NY Harbor ER to get patched up. The place was surprising slow for a holiday weekend. The place was clean, staff was nice. Got me stiched up and did a CT scan to make sure I was GTG. If you’re a Vet in the area and don’t care your care there, you should.
