Considering the circumstances 😂 I remember one girl constantly dialing 9-11 from the phone's. I don't remember if the calls went through but she bragged in the room at night.. The food was actually really good we never went to bed hungry they had activities or you can sit in your rooms. They locked the bathrooms during the day. Because a few of the girls would flush stuff down like apples and pencils 😆 🍎 ✏️. We had a menu where we would choose what we wanted for our meals. The ward was clean and the staff was really cool. I remember I got discharged in February it was cold and fit the atmosphere of my current situation. I'm now married and have a daughter. This was a different time in my life. I am a current resident at Samaritan village's inpatient and methadone facility and I think they have a wonderful program! I have been to many programs and this is by far the best. In their residential program, you have access you methadone maintainence although it is not required, you receive your psychiatric medications and have an on premises psychiatrist and primary care Dr although you may see your own. I see theirs and they are wonderful. They do not chastise you if your on a controlled psychiatric medications, it is considered and often allowed if you have a diagnosed. They offer both methadone and Suboxone and the clinic in the Richmond Hill facility has their methadone clinic right downstairs so you can dose upon waking up. The staff is caring and professional, and the community is caring as well. Well that's about all I have to say! If you are struggling with substance abuse and looking to change your life, look no further! This place is 5* and fully covered by almost all insurance as far as I know! Having been in the mental health field for 10+ years, I have high standards while also recognizing the practical realities of the limitations of the healthcare system. I cannot speak highly enough about Zucker Hillside's RAC. The security guard who directed us to the RAC, allowed us to park in the Internal Medicine on call spot given the urgency, the security guard who personally escorted us to the RAC, the front desk staff who were very informative, the LCSW who was incredibly patient and kind, and the psychiatrist who was also fantastic. I've seen mental health professionals try to cut off patients when they may be going on a tangent for the sake of 'redirection' but both the LCSW and psychiatrist were very understanding and tactful in their approach. I recall the psychiatrist saying "we took the scenic route but we got there" with a gentle smile. While it was a busy waiting room and we didn't have a prebooked appointment, we were seen in a reasonable time frame.
