Mario has been my sober coach for a couple months now and has been a great influence on my sobriety. Between months 7 and 8 I came close to a relapse and soon thereafter he became my sober coach. He carried me thru some very difficult times, losing both my grandparents in the span of two days, alongside a breakup and he was there to support me thru it the whole way. Checking in on me has been incredibly helpful. Encouraging me to go to AA meetings regularly, helping me get employment. He is truly dedicated to helping other people stay sober and it’s very clear he’s passionate about what he does. He always makes you feel seen, heard, validated and understood. I’ve never once felt judged or shamed by him, even when I was struggling. He truly understands what we’re going thru and it shows that he cares about his clients immensely.

Ive been to alot of different rehabs over the years and most of the staff and counselors are rude and could care less about the addicts. But the Catskill Twin County facility is absolutely amazing! The staff and counselors are very courteous and truly do care about the addicts that are coming there for treatment. They are all very down to earth and are easy to talk to, and actually seem like they care and give a shit! When i was going to group there i use to actually look forward to going. I cant say enough good things about them! If i could i would give them a 6 star rating.

When I was done battling my addiction i checked in to there outpatient program. Brenda is amazing. I’m 5 years sober with the help of there services. They care and are always a phone call away. my sister has been at the Pines for about three weeks now. Definitely some superstars who need a big shout out. Chris, her nurse has been outstanding. Has gone way above and beyond trying to make sure that we make progress with her health. He even talked to me about her health after he was off the clock and heading out of the facility. I couldn't ask for anymore than what he has helped her with. Also the back up nurse for Chris. Was outstanding. Went over all of her medication with me. You could see that you really really cared about my sister. I'm not sure if her name but she was white in her early 30s with brown hair. The head dietitian I believe her name was Anne-Marie was outstanding. Went above and beyond to make sure all of my sisters dietary needs were taken care of down to the smallest detail. On several occasions, Debbie in activities was outstanding. Was doing everything she could to make my sisters visit as enjoyable as possible. The nurses on the fifth floor were all excellent and very helpful to me. Also, everyone at the Front reception was outstanding. Today there was a bad person when I was in there mistreating his girlfriend and the receptionist stepped up and told him he needed to leave the property. He was very unruly. She was very courageous and doing so❤️I know my sister was a handful so I appreciate everybody going above and beyond to have her try to make progress on her health. Thank you to everyone from the Pines❤️

I was in Astro home for children back in 1972 and I remember they put me in the cottage I’ll never forget Frank Mulhern, and his wife Donna Mulhern, and their son Keith I remember Artie Freeney I remember Dave Tompkins and Terry the house maid I remember sister Patricia wow so many years ago and I still remember their names. I am now 56 years old going on 57 this year so you know that was many many years ago. I had some good experiences there, but I’ll never forget the day. My husband, Isiah was referred to Sharon Hospital after suffering a pretty severe finger fracture that required surgery. We were referred to Dr. Clark, and from the very beginning, the entire process was incredibly smooth. We saw the doctor, and by the very next day, surgery was already scheduled. Dr. Clark is truly exceptional. He is kind, respectful, confident, compassionate, and took the time to make us feel comfortable every step of the way. Trusting someone to perform surgery is never easy, no matter how routine the procedure may be, but we immediately felt that Isiah was in excellent hands. I also want to recognize the amazing staff who made this experience so positive. A heartfelt thank you to Jessica, Jill, Amy, and Wendy. Every single one of you went above and beyond. You were friendly, caring, patient, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. It meant so much to us to be treated with such kindness during a stressful time. It's refreshing to see that there are still healthcare professionals who truly care about their patients. We are so grateful to Dr. Clark and the entire team for making us feel supported, informed, and comfortable throughout the entire process. Thank you all for your outstanding care. Phenomenal. Professional, personal, tailor-made individualistic programming. Very much a family atmosphere. Once you settle in, you will never want to leave. If I could live at Eden Hill, I would do it in a heartbeat. The term “staff” doesn’t adequately do justice to the Team of people who run and work at , Eden Hill in all capacities.They are personable, accommodating in anyway possible and loving. It is not possible to leave Eden Hill without feeling like your family has gained a few unofficial members. The accommodations are fabulous and newly renovated. Therapeutic communal living helped me to increase individual personal responsibility while at the same time learning to live with and compromise (perhaps for the first time) With my housemates. The clients form a bond that is therapeutic and supportive. We learn to hold each other accountable for their actions in recovery and other communal living issues in a kind and, if necessary, mediated way. Some of the tools I left with we’re effective communication, the development and use of boundaries, healthy confrontation (or “care-frontation”) and how to be a part of the solution instead of the problem. Most importantly I learned humility. I learned the world does not revolve around me and that to be successful in recovery and life, I need a support network which required working on my relationship skills. My circumstances did not allow me to participate in the family recovery events; however, I witnessed my peers and their families participate with what appeared to be excellent results. The Town-of Canaan is small, safe, charming, and has a large recovery network suitable for all ages. I have known many people that have gone through Mountainside treatment center in Canaan and then followed treatment at the extended care facility of Eden Hill Recovery Retreat in Canaan that have decided to remain in the area due to the Active and varied recovery community. Additionally, many of these individuals are still clean and sober and moving on with their lives. I myself am considering relocating to the Canaan area at some point in the near future for the above stated reasons. I cannot recommend this place more highly. Eden Hill is like a second home to me which I will forever remember as a very necessary, nurturing, and healing time. I have met some of the most wonderful, loving women in situations much the same as my own that I will forever treasure as sisters and friends On a journey you couldn’t possibly understand unless you’ve been on it too.

I love that this place has programs that adapt to the needs of each patient, once you arrive I can assure you that you will not want to leave there. The people who manage and work in this place are well trained to be able to provide a good service. This became my second home, I will always remember it with a lot of love.

When i was there in 2018 it was very strict which most people cant complete theu get kicked out or relapse. The then director Andrea was a tough woman to trick or get one over on. Counselors come and go thst normal. Brian the house manager was also amazing and there for a long time. I heard its not the same its easy to get over on staff which isnt good for the people trying to get better. Id love to know to who the new director is. Also the house is amazing compared to like renwick house in newburgh.

My daughter has received services from Astor for the last 2-3 years. I have nothing but good things to say about the receptionists, staff, therapists, nurses and NPs. They have been a blessing to us! When my daughter does not have an appointment one week due to a holiday or whatever, someone will call to check on us. I really appreciate that. It is tough having interns as my daughter's therapists but they need to train somewhere. If your child has extreme difficulty with change then ask for someone that is consistent.
