The counseling center staff are truly dedicated at providing excellent rehabilitation services. I have been to an inpatient facility where this was not the case, and have nothing but positive things to say about the counseling center. Dair, Tim, Kristen and Kristine helped me build strong mental habits and skills for managing the emotional stress that led to my use. Wish there was a rating higher than 5 stars

MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.

This place completely saved my life, it taught me a new way to live and that I am a man, worthy of love and respect. Since there, in 2017, I had one slip up about a year after I graduated, but that was almost 8 years ago now. Since then, I went to welding school, they set me up in a halfway house in NYC, moved back home to Rochester, NY. I have worked in the welding industry and slowly worked my way to where now I run a million dollar welding training program and I try pass along the same message I learned there. I can't say enough wonderful things, about this extraordinary place. Initially, being from San Diego, after reading the terrible reviews, I was so apprehensive, reluctant to go here, to the point of getting sick, thinking this place sounds awful. I couldn't have been more wrong. Shame on these people writing those terrible reviews. It's a bunch lies, on truths, fictitious statements. I went in expecting the worst. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY UPON ENTERING THE BUILDING, I KNEW HOW LONG THOSE REVIEWS WERE. IT WAS RIGHT IN MY FACE I've never experienced so many wonderful people, all in one place. You'd be lucky to get just one kind person, but in this place, the love is everywhere. I mean it. I can't say enough. No judgement, no looking down, no feelings of shame because of the way they speak to you. To the contrary, they treat you wonderfully, with kindness and compassion and with a real desire to help. God bless every single person at this facility. They truly are doing GOD'S work. Angels, here on earth, to help those in pain, we numb ourselves, with the drugs, just to get through another day. If I can do it, after my hellish life, I stand confident, anyone is capable. This place touched my heart. I go by actions and their actions at CT Counseling, tell me all I need to know. They ;I've what they're doing and truly care about other people, with a genuine desire to help others. There is no question about it.

Like ALL programs in or out patient if you WANT to stop and only need the means, guidance and support to do it than this
Is the place . If it was forced upon you or just not ready then may be the place but it may take you more than 1 attempt . In the beginning it’s about reducing amount of your intake substance as you increase amount of medication. That amount and that pace is unique to the individual and CCC recognizes that and also respects that . As long as you trend in proper direction and continue to show progress you have the support of your Counselor. Once stabilized they develop your treatment plan. When you have decreased and eliminated substances and have found a comfortable level of medication dosage that is when you now replaced your bad habit routine with a daily monitored stabilized routine that also is unique to the comfort level of individual discussing a wide range of topics with your assigned counselor: once trust is earned having clean random monthly tests you don’t have to be at the facility unless you chose to and you can begin to take home monitored medication to responsibly proceed with your outpatient program. Your counselor will encourage the timing the is best to decrease at the pace that works for you until you are done and substance free. So much better than 30 day, 90 day ,12 month 0r any predetermined length of time programs because every person is unique whether they feel confident they can do it in a year, 3 yrs, 5 , 10 or stay with this support system as a new part of life what is important is that new life is what you WANTED to achieve and join the team of success stories! In most other reviews I agree that it is about money for the center , but what business , paying their employees ,is not about making money to stay afloat? Also not all counselors are ex addicts that have felt & know exactly what & how we feel, but we can open up & let them learn about the uncontrollable disease & struggles of how our mind works!

After visiting the ER at NYP in Hudson Valley, and being quite dissatisfied with their service (and 4-5h wait in the waiting room with no one to take my ECG), I went to Northern Westchester ER.
I was pleasantly surprised when I was admitted immediately, got a room within 5 min of arriving, and before I was able to put on my gown, the Dr. and her nurse were in the room to talk to me. They listened carefully, ordered a few tests: blood work, IV fluid stomach CAT scan, and also gave me IV antibiotics for a bacteria that showed up in my urine sample.
Throughout all of these steps, the nurse who took care of me was very friendly, always tried to explain what will happen next, and why they are taking those step, and what they expect the results to show or not show.
Overall, I recommend the ER department to anyone who has the time to drive 15min more to get here (and not NYP Hudson Valley). You will be seen sooner, tested sooner, and wrap up all results faster. Plus, the nurses really care for their patients.

About 22 days ago I went into the ER for a really bad rash. That was not normal for me I had to stay the night due to me passing out. My blood pressure had dropped and my heart rate was really high. They did all different kinds of tests to rule out anything scary. They also did a spinal tap on me to make sure it was nothing bad. The nurses took really good care of me I was very surprised and appreciated of how well they treated me. They helped me use the bathroom because I couldn’t walk because of my condition. I don’t remember all of there names but one particular nurse I had the next day stood out to me she checked in regularly brought me food and gave me pills for my discomfort her name was Danielle smith I think that was her last name. Overall my experience was a 10/10. I also want to give a shout out to the staff of floor 6 you all were very nice and friendly to me and very understanding with my mom who couldn’t speak English. Backcountry Wellness has been an absolute blessing for our family. When our daughter was struggling with her eating disorder, we felt lost, overwhelmed, and at times hopeless. Wow. Literally my second home. I never thought I’d be crying and not wanting to leave a residential.
When I first got there, no one was shy or had a filter (in a good way). Everyone was like “this place does something to you” and I thought they ment that I’m a bad way but no. Not only does it help you w your ed and mental health, etc, but it brings the real you out. It was the most me I’ve felt in a long time. I felt my true personality come out and never once was I judged. I came home happier and more me and just simply amazed by how much my personality has shown.
Not only the other kids did I LOVE, but staff. There were staff there who would go out of their way to help me and give me advice to something totally unrelated and I really appreciate it (Sam P). All the staff were there to do their jobs and help me (some better than others but still). They always showed up to work to one, be a care coach, but also just be a friend. Some of the best care coach’s were able to not just be a care coach but also act as a friend you can laugh with (while still following rules and making sure everyone is ok). Such as Liz, Taylor and Roxanne. They helped make the place way less scary.
Time also goes fast there. Every day you have a set schedule which I find SO helpful and still use today when I’m home.
You will also, over your time there earn exposures and outings. Never once did I not enjoy an outing. The staff and your team will also help plan exposures for you. I will NEVER forget the time the nurse Zana (she’s a queen) took me and 2 other clients out to eat. Or the one time Reuby and Stella took a few of us to the diner. They wanna set you up for success and I feel that they did with me.
One little problem though, and I say little becuase I know they are working on it. Is that they are understaffed. Through out my time there were many instances where I wanted to grab smt or needed smt but there “wasn’t enough care coaches”. Also though, in my time I had seen many more people interviewing and many people getting hired and trained.
I also wanna thank Emma, Julie and Rebuy. Me and Emma started on the same day but somehow I didn’t even know she was new. She knew exactly what she was doing and was amazing at her job. And Angelica, she’s like the care coach Mom. The sweetest and kindest person you’ll meet. Always bringing new fidgets in or doing people’s laundry. She runs the best school times!
Chase bronfman also needs to make appearances more.
Even though everyone’s treatment is different and requires different things, from what I’ve seen, BCW can help you with basically any of your needs.
But overall, Im in PHP now and I wanna thank BCW for all they have done. I’m not nearly done w my journey but I’m so grateful for everything they’ve helped me accomplish so far.

Dori's enthusiasm and expertise have made all of the difference for my son. He was really struggling and it was causing him so much frustration. He has made so much progress and it really is all thanks to Dori. Additionally, he LOVES going to his speech lessons and spending time with her. We are immensely grateful to Dori.

Dori was referred to me by a special education, child advocate. At this point, my son was in second grade.. I had asked for the school to provide an outside speech evaluation after being told by the school he had no speach or language issues. After testing my son, Dori determined that he did, in fact, have a speech and language deficiency . She then suspected he had an auditory processing issue and referred us for further testing. Without her testing and guidance, he would never have gotten the help he needed. We then used Dori a second time when we asked for another evaluation in eighth grade. Once again, after testing, he was able to get the help he needed without Dori’s help in guidance he would not be where he is today. She is always on the child’s side not the school districts!
