At the point that many of us seek therapy we're already very overwhelmed and exhausted. So was my case. I reached out to LifeStance as I had previously sought care with Western Psychological now LifeStance. I experienced kind, professional attention. Scheduling didn't take long and the registration process was easy to navigate. I've been working with provider, Garrett Wheeler and have been having a very positive experience overall. I'm the kind to run when the process gets uncomfortable. That has yet to happen. If you're in need of talk therapy I recommend LifeStance.

Gladstone, OR | Northwest Behavioral Health is a private residential behavioral health and addiction treatment program serving individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs in Gladstone, Oregon. The program offers medically assisted detox, inpatient residential care,\ and aftercare support for adolescents, young adults, and adults, including | Treatments Programs Payment Options | A retired person often finds time on their hands. That was me. So, after seeing a hiring sign at NWMH for some time, I called and offered my services. I started in a home with 5 clients in a triplex. I learned medication administration, cooking for diet restricted individuals, learned how to de-escalate explosive situations, and be an all-around support person. From there, I graduated to a clerkship, answering phones, paying bills, reconciling accounts, and general office support. Eventually, I learned the ins and outs of open-enrollment during open season for insurance enrollment. Then hiring strategies and eventually the resolution of employment issues. All of this was a learning curve. I had the support of my clients, my fellow staff, my managers and upper level management.
This is not to say that there weren't challenges: personalities; stresses and strains. But the reward of helping an under-served community far outweighed the challenges.
I have read the negative reviews on this site. Some of them are valid; some of them are driven by reasons I don't fully understand. But I can say from my perspective, when asked to help, whether from staff or clients, I have tried to meet people where they are and assist them on where they want to go. I encourage you to check us out.

Tree House Recovery PDX saved my life. I hit a new rock bottom during the holidays. I was reluctant to going to a typical, 30-day, institutional rehab center like I did over the summer because that didn't work. But then I saw that Tree House was a three month program with a focus in physical exercise, writing, and learning to work as a team. My expectations weren't met -- they were exceeded. I recently graduated on April 3rd and am a better man now than I was before I started using and drinking. I've learned how to be empathetic, hold myself and others accountable, find gratitude in my daily life, lean on my teammates during times of struggle, and how to celebrate little and big wins in my life with healthy pride.
The staff is amazing too. Rob, Nevin, Doug, Bryan and Kevin are all great men who are now role models in my life. They challenged me, listened to me, and gave me advice and suggestions I have taken to help me soar.
If you're struggling, you don't have to do it alone. I would highly recommend this program for any man who is having trouble with addiction and needs to turn his life around.
Thank you, Tree House.

Portland, OR | Oregon Trail Recovery is an addiction rehabilitation center in Milwaukee, Oregon. They offer various treatment options like detox, intensive outpatient care and sober living homes. They are Joint Commission accredited and are known to deliver superior quality and personalized care. Their medical detox is facilitated through their partner, Pacific C | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I came to Oregon Trail Recovery Services not as someone unfamiliar with addiction treatment, but as someone who has spent more than 15 years working in the behavioral health and substance use treatment field as a counselor, clinical supervisor, administrator, and advocate. That background gave me a unique perspective. I know what quality treatment looks like. I know the standards. I know the difference between simply providing services and truly helping people heal.
When I arrived, I was also a man who had experienced the devastating consequences of addiction firsthand. I had lost pieces of my life that mattered most, including precious time with my children. I entered treatment humbled, broken, and determined to rebuild my life one day at a time.
Oregon Trail Recovery has exceeded every expectation I had.
The greatest strength of this program is not simply its curriculum or structure—it's the people. Every single day, I have been met with kindness, compassion, encouragement, and accountability. The staff have an incredible ability to challenge me while never making me feel judged. They have celebrated my victories, helped me through difficult moments, listened when I needed someone to hear me, and reminded me that recovery is possible even on the days when I questioned myself.
What stands out to me most is that I have never felt like just another client. I have felt seen as a person. The staff genuinely care about each individual's success, and that care is reflected in the countless small moments that often go unnoticed—checking in after a difficult group, offering words of encouragement, celebrating milestones, laughing together, and creating an atmosphere where healing feels possible.
As someone who has supervised treatment programs myself, I pay close attention to culture, professionalism, and clinical quality. Oregon Trail has created something special. Their staff consistently demonstrate integrity, empathy, patience, and clinical competence. They don't simply teach recovery—they model it through the way they treat people.
Throughout my time here, I have participated in intensive treatment, recovery planning, peer support, 12-step work, parenting education, relapse prevention, and ongoing clinical services. More importantly, I have begun rebuilding my confidence, my character, and my hope. The tools I am learning here will continue to shape my recovery long after I leave this program.
This experience has also reignited my passion for the behavioral health profession. Rather than allowing my relapse to define me, Oregon Trail Recovery has helped remind me why I dedicated my life to serving others in the first place. It has given me renewed purpose and strengthened my commitment to continue my own recovery while working toward restoring my professional credentials.
Recovery is about so much more than abstinence. It is about learning to live honestly, reconnecting with yourself, repairing relationships, finding community, and believing that your future can be different from your past. Oregon Trail Recovery is helping me do exactly that.
I am deeply grateful to every counselor, peer, worker, support staff member, and person behind the scenes who shows up every day for people like me. The work you do cannot always be measured on paper, but it is reflected in lives that are slowly being rebuilt. Mine is one of those lives.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me during a season when I desperately needed people who would. Your compassion, professionalism, and unwavering support have made a lasting difference in my life, and I will carry what I have learned here with me for years to come.

Our experience with Crestview Recovery Center exceeded every expectation we had. The level of care and compassion shown by the entire staff is truly exceptional. They didn't just focus on our daughter's recovery—they genuinely cared about her as a person, treating her with dignity, respect, and kindness every step of the way.
What impressed us just as much was the support they provided to our family. Addiction affects everyone who loves the person struggling, and the Crestview team understood that. They were there for us throughout the entire process, offering guidance, encouragement, and reassurance far beyond what we ever expected.
Garrett, who helped us through the admissions process, was outstanding. His professionalism, patience, and compassion made an incredibly difficult time much more manageable. He worked with us over an extended period, helping us navigate insurance and ensuring everything was in place so that when our daughter was finally ready to seek treatment, her admission to Crestview was seamless. Garrett also took the time to help me process the emotions that come with having a child battling addiction, offering thoughtful guidance and support that I will never forget.
On the day our daughter arrived, Zoey, her counselor, was remarkable. When our daughter wanted to leave, Zoey met her with empathy, patience, and understanding. Her ability to connect with our daughter and help her choose to stay was nothing short of extraordinary.
The care, thought, and dedication that every person at Crestview Recovery Center puts into helping individuals and their families is beyond measure. We are deeply grateful for the role they have played in our daughter's recovery journey. If you are looking for a recovery center where people truly care, I cannot recommend Crestview Recovery Center highly enough.

My son was treated at Crestview Recovery, they made him feel very comfortable to accept his alcoholism, which he has never done in the past. They also taught him tools to sub-due triggers that make him turn to alcohol. They kept us in the loop every week to his progress with updates and information for when he was released, for him to continue his journey of sobriety. They got him on the medications he's needed to maintain his mental heath problems as well, that also contribute to his addiction. I truly believe if it wasn't for all the help he received at Crestview Recovery I think my son would still be struggling with his addiction in a destructive manner. I will always be very Grateful to all the staff at Crestview Recovery.

This place saved me.
At first arrival, I was sketched out for sure. I was about to leave when two of the staff, Scott and John spoke with me and put me at enough ease to check in to the detox facility. I had so much trepidation but once I was in, I was so happy I stayed. Each and every one of the staff is amazing! From the nurses who are awesome(Boo especially), the BHT’s who genuinely care and go above and beyond to bring as much comfort as possible during my stay, to the therapists and medical clinicians, all were a huge part of my recovery. Even the C level, Bethany was present and available when needed.
The food was great and regularly improving.
The beds were comfortable, rooms are basic but everything that is needed. The room I was in had a Roku tv so I was fortunate but from what I heard every room will be getting one which is nice to be able to be able to secluded myself when I wanted and just zone out to shows to pass time.
All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this facility for any detox needs.

Music therapy was amazing, though. Best therapy program in a emergency setting. Was genuinely a pleasure listening to them play.
Clean up your program and you will genuinely be the best I've been to in oregon.
Edit: After my most recent stay I'd say the acuity split is better, but the nurses station got less efficient and tied up with red tape. I had the pleasure of having Dr. Palumbo this time. He was a real gem. He went above and beyond his duties. Best doctors in Portland hands down. Adding another star going from 3-4 because I see progress in their program and they take people very seriously and address issues immediately unlike other places. This would be my #1 choice of venue when in a severe crisis. I'm hard to please, and these guys pulled that off. Give them a chance.

I honestly will update my review and say that they have seriously improved. I unfortunately had a situation which led me to coming back here but the staff were super nice and compassionate this time around. The fill in psychiatric nurse practitioner Sydney was awesome as well as the nurse Ivan or Even (I can't remember exactly). Tobi the technician was great and so was Malkea I think her name was.

Portland, OR | SLO Recovery Center is situated in Portland, Oregon. This drug rehab center specializes in treating drug and alcohol abuse. It provides patient centered care focusing on treating the entire person through therapeutic interventions during addiction recovery programs. The SLO Recovery Center recognizes that drug and alcohol addiction is a complex | Programs Payment Options | Your journey will be begin via a phone screening with an administrative person who will have you set up a time to come to the facility in person. Once you're at the center you're greeted by an intake staff who will ask you about your current drug and alcohol use, housing situation, family situation, court cases and that sort of thing. They'll ask about your insurance situation but most of the clients here at Spark are on the Oregon Health Plan - so you're totally covered for behavioral health! This process takes about 1.5 hours or so.
Once your insurance is approved you'll move to the scheduling area where a staff member will get a pulse for your interests, strengths and weaknesses in treatment and try and augment the programming that is tailored to you! The programming is two different classes per morning. For example "Anger Management" or "Art.
If you're in need of immediate housing (currently on the streets or in an emergency shelter) the agency will set you up with a bed in a sober living house completely FREE of charge. The center partners with local agencies who will do same day placements. Men's and woman's houses are separate. There is an Oregon City house and a SE Portland home. They'll work with whatever makes the most sense for you! Most of the houses will have a blackout policy meaning no cell phone for a week, and no leaving the house unchaperoned by another house mate (trust me this flies by!!!)
Transportation is always provided from sober housing to the facility. They're in 18 passenger vans and come roughly between 8am and 9am 5 days a week. You'll arrive at treatment around 9am and hangout in the milieu area (living room) drink coffee, mentally prepare for the day and go to your assigned group at 9:30-10:45. There is a coffee break at 10:45 till 11:00am- and you'll have group #2 until 12:15pm. The coffee is pretty good (Folgers) with cream and sugar.
UA's are random and occur twice per week at the PHP level - check your name on the board and just hit up the UA techs located in the obscure office next to the couches. They'll take you to a restroom where you give your sample!
At 12:15 you'll get a hot lunch. It ranges from a Cafe Yum bowl, to a burrito from the local mexican joint. Pizza is always on Friday's! and it's Dominoes. This lunch is completely free of charge and included in treatment. The Afternoon group starts at 1:30pm until 3:15pm (it's a longer lunch) but a good time to unwind. You'll meet with a main counselor every single week to discuss how things are going and putting together a discharge plan and certain treatment goals. You'll also see the in-house physician the first day or second day in order to get medications that'll help you along the way. This doctor will not be your PCP however and you'll be required to obtain your own as a condition for graduation.
Outside of groups at the facility there is no outside meeting minimum although some housing providers may require some for their own policy. Every Saturday a peer support specialist will pick folks up on Saturday for an optional AA meeting in the local area for convenience!
Every single Wednesday there is a group outing to different activities in the community. This ranges from bowling alley's to the pumpkin patch in October. Lunch is provided before the van leaves and it's a Jimmy Johns turkey sandwich at 10:45 - the van will depart for the field trip around 11:15-11:30. Before the activity starts however you'll be transported to the URS club out in east county for this really awesome AA meeting - seems boring at first but it's a good meeting!
All of this stuff will happy like clock work five days a week for about 4-6 weeks- at which time you'll "step down" to IOP level of care. This is held in the evenings instead of the morning and there will be no more hot lunch, activities but you won't have to wake up anymore for that van! The UA's go down to once a week and it's a color system so be sure to call in!! The IOP evening classes at 4:45-8:30-8:45ish - it just depends. After 90 days or so you will graduate!

My daughter was a patient at Spark this year. I was impressed with the staff and the overall experience. She has remained sober since graduating from the program. I will forever be thankful for the care she received there. God bless them.
