When my younger brother finally decided to seek help for his alcohol addiction, I spent countless hours researching treatment programs. From the moment I came across the website for Tree House Recovery PDX, I knew this was something special. A truly unique program that stood out from every other rehab facility I had seen.
Tree House’s focus on building a brotherhood grounded in mutual respect, compassion, and empowerment immediately resonated with me. My brother had spent years feeling isolated and disconnected, and I knew this kind of community could give him the sense of belonging he’d been missing.
The combination of strength training and mindfulness yoga was unlike anything I had come across before. Replacing harmful habits with physical strength and mental resilience was exactly what my brother, once an athletic, active teenager, needed to reconnect with a version of himself that existed before alcohol took hold.
The program’s one-on-one, group, and writing therapy, combined with the educational classes on the mechanisms of addiction, make it one of the most well-rounded and thoughtful approaches to recovery I have ever seen. In just three months, the transformation in my brother has been remarkable, not only in his body but in his voice, his confidence, and his spirit.
Tree House has given him tools to cope with disappointment and setbacks, develop healthier reasoning skills, and rediscover the strength that comes from brotherhood, from leaning on and lifting up others walking the same path. He’s learned how to have fun without substances and surround himself with people who genuinely care about his well-being.
Initially, I worried Tree House might not be an option for us financially. But then I saw the words at the bottom of their website:
“We strive to make sure that Tree House is an option for everyone.”
It felt like they were speaking directly to me.
When I reached out, Matt was incredible. He listened with genuine compassion, spoke with both my brother and me, and over the next week and a half worked tirelessly with the team, including the program director and finance department, to make sure my brother could be admitted. He arranged detox admission, transportation, and housing. Thanks to Matt, Brandon, Emma, Esther, and Rob, my brother was given a real shot at recovery.
Tree House Recovery PDX hasn’t just helped my brother get sober, it has transformed his outlook on life. He’s now enrolled in school, exploring meaningful work, and, most importantly, has hope again.
Our family will forever be grateful to the entire Tree House team for their compassion, creativity, and unwavering belief in the potential for change.

This recovery program changed my life. Another Chance helped me get into sober housing my first day of treatment; the manager has now asked me to be the assistant house manager of that house, and I have been sober for 5 months now. This is all due to what I’ve gained from the classes at Another Chance. The counselors at Another Chance truly care about their clients and promote long term sobriety through community supports. Counselors teach through discussion based classes around psychotherapy, recovery, coping skills, and self sufficiency. The counselors work with each person to make their recovery “work for them” when it comes to making a schedule/requirements for their program. It really is so supportive and encouraging it makes me want to be there every day unlike any other program I’ve ever worked before. I encourage everyone to give this program a chance.

This place saved me.
At first arrival, I was sketched out for sure. I was about to leave when two of the staff, Scott and John spoke with me and put me at enough ease to check in to the detox facility. I had so much trepidation but once I was in, I was so happy I stayed. Each and every one of the staff is amazing! From the nurses who are awesome(Boo especially), the BHT’s who genuinely care and go above and beyond to bring as much comfort as possible during my stay, to the therapists and medical clinicians, all were a huge part of my recovery. Even the C level, Bethany was present and available when needed.
The food was great and regularly improving.
The beds were comfortable, rooms are basic but everything that is needed. The room I was in had a Roku tv so I was fortunate but from what I heard every room will be getting one which is nice to be able to be able to secluded myself when I wanted and just zone out to shows to pass time.
All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this facility for any detox needs.

Lifeline Connections helps a lot of folks in so many ways; My experience has been in the Healing Animals Program in Equestrian Therapy or as I lovingly call it, Horsey Therapy.
Equestrian Therapy helps people with mental health challenges that could be anything from PTSD to Depression, Anxiety, etc. A lot of folks think we ride the horses. That doesn't happen at all.
Horses are remarkable beings. They teach us to regulate our emotions even after a stressful or traumatic event.
I go to group and individual therapy.
The sessions take place in a beautiful, safe, private setting. The horses and Lifeline staff are incredible. If you would like to know more, find it on Lifeline Connections. They help save my life every freaking day!

I use this pharmacy often as I choose not to have my prescriptions mailed to me. The people that work here are very friendly and do their very best to help out the vets. It is unfortunate that a lot of veterans don’t understand why there’s an issue with a prescription and they take it out on the poor people behind the counter. Im only giving 5 stars because the staff here is nice and they listen well and always help out when my husband has stomach episodes. My husband and i came in again today first time in a few months he's gotten sick like this, he has a cancerous cyst in his esophagus that causes issues with his stomach so he’s on a special diet until we find out what triggers him. Sometimes he eats something that sets him off and he ends up puking and dry heaving until he cant stand and he can’t keep any fluids down so i bring him here to get an IV with fluids so he doesn't dehydrate! The doctors, the nurses, the medical assistants, everyone here is wonderful they always listen to me and do great with him. What saddens me is today i was in the waiting room with him and there was a hand full of people staring at him while he was puking and dry heaving, and making comments and telling people not to sit next to us because they thought he was contagious even though i had clarified he is not and that its a pre existing condition. It became so uncomfortable to the point i wheeled my husband into the hallway and waited there and stood in front of him so no one could stare. Everyone in the waiting room didn't even show signs of being sick, no one was coughing or puking or pale or had any visible sickness. They all just sat around on their phones chit chatting and staring at my husband and making comments, and half of them got into a room before my husband who is in agonizing pain. One of the women in there kept announcing that she had cancer, and was even being disrespectful to the staff, and talking down of the staff saying no one here knows how to do their job, she offered me these odd candies for my husband and I politely turned her down and she immediately caught an attitude. Y’all need to grow up. Im sure if you were in my husbands position or my position you wouldn’t enjoy that either. So folks think before you speak.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Ashley at the Veteran Affairs office—she is absolutely amazing! I was honestly expecting to be booked far out or even canceled like I’ve experienced before, where it took me nearly two months just to see my primary care provider.

Oregon is ranked 45th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $58,894.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Oregon vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Oregon. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Oregon that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here’s the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment in Oregon.
