I began therapy a couple of months ago & it has already made a big difference! My doctors have gotten my meds adjusted & they are helping me get to the root of my issues. I'm sorry I didn't start therapy sooner. I cannot say enough good things about PPS & my progression! The staff is wonderful too! Don't do what I did, suffering in silence, hoping my issues just go away. Call them & see how they can help you too!

I cannot say enough good things about Professional Psychiatric Services (PPS). Finding quality mental health care can be incredibly difficult, especially when you are trying to find a place that offers more than just one type of service. What has stood out to us about PPS is how many services are available in one place and how well the different parts of care can work together. Our experience with the therapy services has been wonderful. The therapist takes the time to actually listen, understand what is going on, and work toward meaningful goals rather than making appointments feel rushed or repetitive. As a parent, I especially appreciate that therapy isn’t treated like something that happens in isolation. When appropriate, we’ve been able to incorporate family sessions, which has helped us better understand how to support our child at home and communicate more effectively as a family. That involvement has made a huge difference. We have also been very happy with the medical side of the practice. Having therapy and medication management available through the same organization makes everything much easier. Mental health treatment can already feel overwhelming for families, so not having to coordinate between several completely separate offices is a huge benefit. It feels much more like there is a complete treatment team rather than individual providers working independently. Another thing that deserves recognition is the front desk staff. Every interaction we’ve had has been friendly and helpful. They greet you when you come in, answer questions without making you feel like you’re bothering them, and do their best to help with scheduling. Our wait times have also been very reasonable, which is something I really appreciate in a busy medical office. The office itself feels welcoming and comfortable. There is information available about different mental health resources and services, and you can tell there has been an effort to make the environment feel less intimidating than a typical medical office. That is especially important for children and teenagers who may already be nervous about coming to an appointment. What I appreciate most is that PPS offers different levels and types of mental health support. Mental health needs can change over time, and it is reassuring to know that there are multiple services available rather than immediately having to start over somewhere else every time a person’s needs change. No mental health practice is going to be perfect, and everyone’s experience with a provider is personal, but our family’s experience has been extremely positive. We have felt listened to, supported, and included in the treatment process. Most importantly, we have seen the difference that consistent care and having the right support can make. If you are looking for mental health services for yourself, your child, or your family, I would absolutely recommend Professional Psychiatric Services. We are genuinely grateful for the therapists, medical providers, and staff members who have helped our family. Mental health care is such an important part of overall health, and having a place where you feel comfortable asking for help matters more than people realize.

Other Forms of Payment

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.

Treatments

An alcohol use disorder (AUD), also commonly called alcoholism, can range from mild to severe. It involves compulsive consumption of alcohol and maladaptive patterns of drinking that lead to negative physical, social, and relational consequences. Diverse treatment programs are available for people with AUD. Mutual-support groups, medications, and behavioral treatments are provided through alcohol rehab in Ohio. If co-occurring disorders are present, it is important to receive treatment for both disorders.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Ohio's substance abuse treatment programs can support individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use. Typically available on an outpatient or inpatient basis, these programs employ evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and holistic approaches to provide effective addiction treatment. This comprehensive approach ensures long-term sobriety, improved mental health, and coping skills to overcome risk of relapse.

Treatment for drug and alcohol addiction addresses both the physical and the mental health impacts caused by a consistent supply of addictive substances. When addressing both an addiction and a mental health disorder simultaneously, a dual diagnosis treatment center is required. Staff are certified to deal with these complex conditions and equipped to deal with mental health emergencies that may occur.

In Ohio, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer outpatient, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and intensive outpatient options. Treatment usually includes a thorough mental health assessment, tailored treatment plan, various types of therapy, and education to equip you with the tools to achieve and maintain your sobriety.

Programs

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio may occur in individual, group, or family sessions. It involves focusing on specific thought and behavior problems. Participants learn coping techniques and are asked to practice them as homework between sessions.

PLEASE READ I have been a patient at this practice for approximately 8 years, but after my most recent experience I have decided to continue my care elsewhere. I have been stable on the same non-controlled medication for years and have not needed any medication changes. Despite this, I am required to come in for appointments in order to continue receiving refills. At my most recent appointment, I had barely sat down before the provider asked if I was still doing well and told me she would send my prescription over. The entire interaction lasted only a couple of minutes, yet I still had to pay a $20 copay. While I understand that providers may require periodic follow-ups, this was frustrating given how brief the appointment was. More importantly, I specifically explained that my insurance requires this medication to be prescribed as a 90-day supply. If it is sent as a 30-day supply, my insurance will not cover the prescription. I made this very clear during the appointment and was told that a 90-day prescription had been sent. Unfortunately, a 30-day prescription was sent instead, and I received an alert from my pharmacy that my insurance would not cover it. I contacted the practice three times over approximately two hours, including their medication line, and left messages but received no response. My pharmacy also attempted to contact the office without success. Because the office then closed for the weekend, my pharmacist ultimately had to provide me with a small emergency supply to ensure I did not miss doses until the office reopened. This is a medication that should not be abruptly discontinued, so being put in a position where I had to worry about running out was incredibly stressful and, in my opinion, completely avoidable. I understand that mistakes happen. What frustrated me most was that I had specifically addressed the 90-day requirement at an appointment I was required to attend, was assured it had been prescribed correctly, and then could not reach anyone when I discovered it had not been. After 8 years as a patient, I’m disappointed that this is ultimately what led me to seek care elsewhere. I sincerely hope other patients have better experiences, but I wanted to share mine because continuity and accuracy with psychiatric medications are extremely important.

The owner is not a good person. This place is absolute trash and no one should use their services. They do not care about their patients, they definitely don't care about their staff, and no one should go here. Avoid at all costs.
