Tree House Recovery PDX saved my life. I hit a new rock bottom during the holidays. I was reluctant to going to a typical, 30-day, institutional rehab center like I did over the summer because that didn't work. But then I saw that Tree House was a three month program with a focus in physical exercise, writing, and learning to work as a team. My expectations weren't met -- they were exceeded. I recently graduated on April 3rd and am a better man now than I was before I started using and drinking. I've learned how to be empathetic, hold myself and others accountable, find gratitude in my daily life, lean on my teammates during times of struggle, and how to celebrate little and big wins in my life with healthy pride. The staff is amazing too. Rob, Nevin, Doug, Bryan and Kevin are all great men who are now role models in my life. They challenged me, listened to me, and gave me advice and suggestions I have taken to help me soar. If you're struggling, you don't have to do it alone. My decision to attend treatment was one of the most important decisions of my life and I could not have made a better choice than Treehouse Recovery. This was my first time in treatment and I was terrified while researching places to go. From the very first phone call, the staff at Treehouse made me feel heard, supported, and helped to ease my mind that help was available and change was possible. Recovery is rarely a straight path. For me, it was marked by multiple attempts—each one beginning with hope and ending in frustration. I wanted sobriety, but wanting it and sustaining it were two very different things. Each setback carried shame, doubt, and the quiet fear that maybe lasting change just wasn’t meant for me. Six years ago, everything shifted—but not for me at first. It was my husband whose life was saved by Treehouse. Counselor nodded out on me 😆 I like to believe he was on methadone or Suboxone but he literally asked me how long he was out when he came to. All while talking about super personal information... I've been there three times... Not since the 90s old location .. thank you Lord above.. Another time the guy had the exact same line "don't you want to go to the ocean and throw your girlfriend in it type of shit 😂" same guy ten years apart it was beyond memorable. But this place plants seeds that lead to a life of substance free Bliss!! The acupuncture in the AM and evening AA/NA Meetings meant everything to me.

I have been to several treatment centers in the Portland area over the past decade and this is the ONLY treatment center that I have EVER been able to both GET clean and STAY clean at! 1st time in 2018 (clean for 18 months) and now this time (started back here in 2023)..... So grateful for this place, it really did save my life.

I am so grateful to Crestview, and most especially Garrett, who coordinated an extremely difficult admission for a loved one suffering from addiction. He was convinced after a few sober days that he could go home, much to the dismay and fear of all those who love him and know his addiction is years in the making. This is an amazing treatment center. A staff that are both well trained and genuinely care about their clients! This recovery program changed my life. Another Chance helped me get into sober housing my first day of treatment; the manager has now asked me to be the assistant house manager of that house, and I have been sober for 5 months now. This is all due to what I’ve gained from the classes at Another Chance. The counselors at Another Chance truly care about their clients and promote long term sobriety through community supports. Counselors teach through discussion based classes around psychotherapy, recovery, coping skills, and self sufficiency. The counselors work with each person to make their recovery “work for them” when it comes to making a schedule/requirements for their program. It really is so supportive and encouraging it makes me want to be there every day unlike any other program I’ve ever worked before. I encourage everyone to give this program a chance.

Graduating from Spark Wellness has truly changed my life. When I came in, I was scared, broken, and unsure if I could ever stay sober, but today, I am proud to say I am sober, employed, and present as a mother and grandmother. The program gave me real tools to maintain my sobriety in the real world, including relapse prevention, healthy coping skills, and how to build a support system. The job readiness and life skills training helped me gain employment, which has given me confidence and a sense of purpose I had lost. Staff was great, counselors have been there before and understand addiction on a personal level, food was good. Classes every day, meetings half the week. Only complaint would be strict policy on phone usage, I understand the reasoning behind it but still frustrating. If you are respectful and mindful you won't have issues with most guests but 85% of the guests while I was there are ex cons so some can be a little rigid and immature in their thinking. If you really want to recover and focus on yourself this is a good place to do it.

This place made a big difference for my child, and that is all that really matters to me. I will say, they could have HUGE improvements in parent involvement, parent education, and family therapy. At times, they seemed almost anti- parent, which seems to me to be a strange approach to recovery. My ex and I were left on completely different pages as to next steps for our child. They should take a note from Clementine which has great support for parents. But, my child is doing well, and I'm thankful.

Wanted to thank the staff and everyone who was in here at the same time as me. I didn't come here entirely on my own free will, but because I was kind of cornered into it by my therapist. And I wasn't happy about putting my life on hold to be here. But now I see why she really wanted me to go. I had no previous experience with programs like this and didn't know what to expect. And you can bet I doubted everything every step of the way. I still do in some areas. But the longer I was there, the more I saw a difference and realized why things are done the way they are. I got a lot out of the program in the relatively short time I was there and have seen a big difference in my eating and thinking. And also in my physical health and brain. My memory has really noticeably improved and so has how I feel physically. And I've felt so much calmer and happier compared to before I went in. Turns out eating consistently helps you not feel like you're in fight or flight all the time, who would have thought haha.

this has been the best eating disorder treatment center i have been in! yes, they did make me eat food and not engage in behaviors but i don’t feel the need to anymore! lauren has been very helpful to my recovery! she deserves a raise for all the work she puts in. anyone can see how passionate she is about her job! ari is an amazing therapist! amanda is doing an AMAZING job as clinical director! she is determined and dedicated to helping others live eating disorder free! all the staff is amazing and wonderful! 10/10 would recommend! #edfree

I spent a lot of time researching treatment programs. I ultimately chose Center For Discovery because I felt comfortable with the person I spoke to on the phone and because they had open spots available right away. My inner critic said "Why do they have open spots? Is no one going to this place?" The answer is that lots of people are going to this place! And those are the people I spent every day with for the last three months. Going in, I wasn't sure what attending treatment would be like (it's kind of like hanging out with people who understand you, eating meals together, processing feelings, and working on goals) or where treatment would be (it's in a big building with other businesses) or how it would feel to share my inner most thoughts about food, weight, and body with others (it is scary, but also freeing!) or who would be there (lots of different people, ages, stages in life, gender identities, fashion choices and hobbies HA!) Basically, I had a lot of questions going in and I wasn't sure this would be worth my time/energy/money/family stress/etc. It sounds cheesy, but what I found was so much more than I could have imagined for myself. I will miss all the staff and friends I made. I will miss all the games we played at meals and all the inside jokes and crying from emotions but also crying from laughing so hard. Thank you to Paige, Ailis, Alana, Kim, and Jodi for being part of my journey and helping me see the best parts of me.

To anyone considering coming here for treatment - do it. The other reviews posted during COVID are not representative of how the facility is now (not to mention they have never put anyone into "quarantine," it's not even that kind of facility). It's not perfect, nothing is, but this program, the staff, and the others in program with me changed my life. But, it took time. Plus, there are tons of post program support. I still miss the connection I felt with everyone there. It will be what you make of it, so give it a shot and embrace it. It's worth it.

I was disappointed that I didn’t get to finish this program but was incredibly grateful for the time I spent here. I unfortunately needed a higher level of care than PHP but the month I was at this location was spent in kind and caring arms. My team truly wanted the best for me every single minute of being there (whether my ed liked it or not) and these clinicians immediately met me where I was at. The staff were all incredible and so were the other clients. A major shoutout to the BEST dietician Sam, Paige for being on my side, and so many other lovely people that stood by me. This place is wonderful and I hope anyone looking for help comes here:)

Honestly, i can into this program due to court situation, but the knowledge a d experience that i had obtain while being involved has opened my eyes in a more positive way. Beyond the obligations, and individual mindsets about counseling; the peer groups gives an insight of how the communication really helps ones daily circumstances. Which i truly enjoy the most, education classes create a foundation on how to accommodate certain situation in a way you would really consider choices. Overall that staff are one of a kind, unfortunately i had to enroll based of misfortunate decision, but ive considered staying involved with this organization after its over. And i for one can say ive never thought of counseling as an idealistic thing; they've changed my thinking for the better.

Drug Related Crime in Portland

In 2023, Portland had the 148th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 488 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.

Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Portland.
