In 2011 I went through treatment twice in one summer. The 1st time I completed it but wasn't committed and was back the next month. The 2nd time I was all in and worked the program to the fullest. I was clean for 12 years. I also had 3 family members who attended the treatment center and were a success. This place was awesome. However, after 12 years, I recently had a 2 yr relapse and decided I needed help. I knew the place to go. The only problem is I called and called and called and any number I could find apparently was not Summer Sky or it appeared it no longer existed (even through Facebook). This was so disappointing. I chose a different place closer to home and left early during the detox phase because I needed the structure that Summer Sky provided at that time. Not sure what is going on but if there is a next time for me, I sure hope there is a better way to contact them.

HOPE gives you the tools to understand your addiction. It works if you work it, and it won’t if you don’t. Many years ago it worked for me. If you see a bad review on here, what you’re really seeing is a bitter addict unwilling to be honest with themselves and do the work.

I came here for my recovery, and at first I would say that I didnt like it, but that was making excuses for myself. But I stayed and graduated, this place tought me to learn patience and roll with changes that can come up in real life and not have to turn to drugs. Now im a peerlead helping others in the community to see the bright side of things and fight those urges we all get. This is hard thing to do alone, but if u build a community it becomes easier. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Riverwalk Ranch Treatment Center Riverwalk Ranch has truly been a life-changing place for me. When I came here, I was scared, unsure of my future, and unsure of myself. The staff here has shown me that recovery isn’t just possible — it’s something worth fighting for every single day. They treat you with genuine care, compassion, and patience, even on the days when you struggle to believe in yourself. I’m still learning, growing, and working through things — recovery is not always easy. But being here has given me real tools and real hope. Every therapist, tech, and counselor puts in the effort to help you understand what you’re going through and how to move forward in a healthier way. They celebrate the small victories with you and help you stay strong through the setbacks. The environment feels safe and supportive — the groups are meaningful, the activities help you reconnect with life, and the structure gives you stability. I’ve met people here who remind me that I’m not alone in this journey, and that has made such a difference. I’m still pushing through, but for the first time in a long time, I feel like I have a future worth looking forward to. I’m incredibly grateful to Riverwalk Ranch for being a huge part of that hope. If you’re thinking about getting help — this place can truly give you a new start.

I had an amazing experience with NP Ubabuco. I recently moved from Florida and attended an IOP program under the care of a psychiatrist. I didn’t agree with prior diagnoses and we discussed why I felt that way and NP Unabuco was able to give his input on what possibly led to those diagnoses. Before learning about this place; I had very limited knowledge about what programs I would be qualified for (I’m a veteran) I assumed just the VA (for medical ) and I never gave it much thought past that . Finding out about the RRC has dramatically changed my life for the better; and I’m profoundly grateful. Prior to going there -I had lost my job and was about to be added to the ranks of the newly homeless (Depending on how you define “ homeless” in some people’s eyes, I would’ve already been there. I was staying on the floor of a gym at a church where I would clean every night in exchange for sleeping there. I was too stubborn to go to a homeless shelter, because the one thing I had left in my life that I had no intention of leaving was my cat. Me and Cleo have been together a long time- she’s my family. Fast forward almost a year. I have my own car; my own apartment (cat friendly! ) I make a little income online but also searching for a job (it’s hard to maintain a job if you can’t wash your clothes or have a place to stay) RRC didn’t do EVERYTHING for me - But I can honestly say I would not be where I’m at now without them. And although it’s a government agency, I have not met a bad employee from there- My caseworker, Amanda Jones; has went out of her way numerous times to help me-These people care about their clients and they do whatever they can to help them- If you are a veteran and you need help, they should be the first people you call. You won’t regret it. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for me.. Thank you RRC and Especially AMANDA!! William (Former squid; GMG - USS Wabash)

Zero stars . I checked myself in October 26 I was suicidal. They placed me on suicide watch which is line of sight. By the way they were talking across the room me and other patients being on suicide watch and leaking out our information. and it’s also a HIPAA violation. The nurse wanted to give me a pill to sleep. I asked her what classification of medication it was meaning is it a benzodiazepine, is it a antipsychotic, is it a mood stabilizer. And the nurse just said it was for anxiety. She could not tell me.I asked them to look it up.they were put out by this. I am very, sensitive to medication’s. I have a TBI ,PTSD with major depressive disorder. I say that because I went in there to get better. I actually feel worse having gone through that experience.. I was Transferred to a unit with major alcoholics, drug addicts, and homeless people who know how to work the system, The staff was constantly complaining about how green Oaks did not have their back, so they just had to make doUnit three The nurse Glory who was also in the first unit I was in was dismissive and snappy. meds are given out at 8 o’clock. She said ma’am you need to calm down and I was not upset at all, but I wanted answers. She told me to go back and sit down and she will call me when she’s ready. She was on her phone on Facebook watching videos the whole time she was very rude. The other nurse Carrie was also always on her phone watching videos and often times she would have patients come up to her asking for medication and she would be watching her video while she was handing out medication. These nurses would often retreat to the dispensary where thmedication is kept to be on their phones. At one point there were no text and no nurses to be found for about 10 or 15 minutes. I finally found the lead tech Laurie and I told her there were no staff members out in the main room. Now mind you, we are all kept in one big main room and we were not allowed to retreat to our beds or to our rooms, which is what our insurance was paying for. Especially duering angry outburst from other patients. Which happened at least six or seven times and I was there for six days. on a daily basis. There were at least four major outburst From patients that were violent, there was harassment, insults &heckling. these people smelled horrible and they would not get them a shower. You can get a doctors order to get them a shower. patients to harass other patients who were not allowed to retreat to their room for hours before they got it under control. It was such a scary experience. I asked them since I checked myself in. Can I request to leave and they told me I could. The nurse Laura said I could put in a four hour order, but if the doctor thought I needed to stay, they could make me stay for up to a month. This is not OK with me. It’s like they hold people there and they can make them stay, even if they don’t feel safe.I came in on 10 mg of a specific medication and the psychiatrist told me he would increase it to 20 mg and they added another medication and since I am so sensitive, I wanted them to keep an eye on me. First of all, I was still given the same size of this pill that only comes in this size if it is 10 mg. I asked them to make sure that they were giving me the 20 mg. The psychiatrist whom I only saw two times in my six day stay Forgot to put it on my discharge papers when I left. It was a whole Nother ordeal. bathroom doors had feces all over it, they do not clean with an hospital grade disinfectant which kills viruses, fungus, tuberculosis, HIV, and hepatitis. They used Fabuloso. Not a hospital grad. There are bugs, and thick layers of crust on chairs, and around the corners of the bed frames, broken glass windows, and we only went outside two times. We watched horror movies like It and The conjuring. Why? Is this healing? Patients sleeping on the hard floor next to dead bugs all the time. Old food everywhere on the floor. I still I need help. Its scary , harmful tomental wellness. Don’t go here. Stephanie Patient advocacy. I called she never back

This hospital saved my life in 93. I had an aneurism at 12 years young and given a 2% chance of living. Here I am Thanks to dr. Kapinic. I’m sure I didn’t spell his name right but he saved my life

I had a delivery at Zale Lipshy pavilion and had a hard time backing up to the dock not a lot of room for a semi truck. The employee there jenifer maciel was amazing went above and beyond to help me get this truck backed up. I appreciate her being patient and helping move cars out the way. She’s awesome the best.

Came here for hip replacement surgery and the experience was fantastic. Valet parking, helpful folks checking you in, excellent nurses and technicians all along the way. I cannot express how thankful I am for these people who made me feel at ease and in control of my own care. At no time did I feel pressured and rushed into anything. Past experience at the VA hospital was quite different. Everything went well, and I will return to UTSW for my medical needs from this point on.

This place is such a rip off!!! For starters, you have to go/pay every day. Let's just say you have a gram a day tar , your looking at attending daily for 3/4 weeks before they start giving you enough to help. If you are on fentanyl, don't even bother going!!!! I was doing fentanyl and went for 4 weeks and wasn't even close to the amount I needed to not have to buy drugs!!!!

Honestly, this place has helped me tremendously! I’ve been coming here for 5 years! I would likely be further along in the process of recovery but my original counselor purposely held me back many times. She was eventually fired and I thank God for that because there is no telling how many lives she disrupted being spiteful. Now I absolutely love my new counselor Crystal! I feel like she cares about us and her job! All the counselors they currently have are super respectful and seemingly genuine people that truly care about your progress. 5 years of sobriety and counting!! It wouldn't be possible without the effort of those counselors and the positive environment they now maintain on a daily basis. They truly bring a family vibe and consideration that you won't find in the majority of treatment facilities. If you're serious about your sobriety and future then I would strongly suggest this place. There support team is off the charts.

There is a new doctor at the VA Medical Clinic in Brownwood, and he is amazing! He asked questions and actually listened to my answers. When I asked questions, he answered. He spent time explaining things. I sure hope this is a turning point to upgrade this clinic that has gotten so many bad reviews due to the disrespectful and uncaring attitudes of some of the front line personnel. I actually felt like I was heard and respected. Very good doctor's appointment this year! I am impressed and grateful.
