BEST PLACE EVER. I have tried various other doctors/clinics and none of them even begin to compare to this one. The staff here is absolutely amazing. I can’t even make a single complaint. Dr Son is the best as well. He explains everything and you truly feel like he understands you. I can proudly say this, this place saved my life. However, after 12 years, I recently had a 2 yr relapse and decided I needed help. I knew the place to go. The only problem is I called and called and called and any number I could find apparently was not Summer Sky or it appeared it no longer existed (even through Facebook). This was so disappointing. I chose a different place closer to home and left early during the detox phase because I needed the structure that Summer Sky provided at that time. Last Friday my daughter had a seizure inside this center. The nurse accused her of faking it and told her to "get up" and the director and staff left her lying on her stomach on the floor while this was happening. I am appalled and this is negligent! Your children are not safe here and the so called nurse is far from that. A true nurse wouldn't accuse someone of faking a seizure and wouldn't leave her lying on her stomach. My daughter isn't the only one who gave me the details, the director herself told me about her lying on her stomach because they didn't know if she was having a seizure or a panic attack. Knowing this, they still didn't call 911. The director also told me that the nurse was watching my daughter through a window even though a code had been called. My daughter is special needs and has disabilities and I feel they were risking her life. When I left work and picked her up she had been crying. She had tears still. I am so angry and disappointed seeing as this is supposed to be a a safe place for someone with mental health issues and disabilities. The director never apologized to me and I won't forget this moving forward and feel obligated to let other parents know.

I've been called to come get my son twice bc he was having behavioral issues and intereupting the class....well he is there due to behavioral issues and trying to get him some help and stabilized on the right meds so why am I being called? They are transitioning to a new location so alot of changes and apparent non consistentcy which doesn't help. Staff are not focused on the children bc they have to deal with the move. His therapist just called me last week after about 4 weeks in the program to tell me she would be leaving. Nothing before then was done in regards to keeping me informed about what skills they were working on so that I could reinforce them at home. I asked for resources to be sent home and nothing was sent. My sons medication was increased and I see a slight improvement but not enough to get him back in school without having the same issues that got him there in the first place. I inquired about in patient treatment and said his behavior right now doesn't qualify him. It's so frustrating to see your child struggling and then the professionals that are getting paid and have the experience basically just provide daycare and we are back at square one. It's sad.

I’m writing this review without any idea how to express my gratitude. Sunshine was not the first place I called to help my friend but they are the place that gave me hope that maybe he would finally have a chance. I had been trying for over 2 years to help my friend get to recovery and everytime there was a closed door at some point of the process.. Whether it be $$ or programs or people on the other end of the phone unwillingness to help. I came across Sunshine Care Center with absolute defeat written all over me by the time I called them.. and there it was someone willing to not only to be the only other person on my team but to help me navigate what to do who to call how to help my friend with his addiction. I can’t put into words how much it meant to me to find a center that is truly there to help people that cannot help themselves. Beautiful people that work here with beautiful hearts. Special dedication to David the Founder for being there when no one else would. My endless gratitude sir. Thank you Sunshine Care Center.

OT Edwin was the Best! A little hard at times, but balanced with encouragement that challenged my mindset to think in positive terms of what I believed I could do physically.
PT Justin was also very good at tailoring my workouts to accommodate sore muscles rather than charging forward with his original plan. He was very conscious to not over use a strained muscle and possibility risking an injury, but altered my plan to still achieve the goals set.
In reference to OT Edwin & PT Justin, I am amazed with my progress from Monday 8/4 to Friday 8/13!
Nurse on 8/6 (Wed overnight into Thursday AM) had a very unhelpful attitude towards me. It was like I was wasting her time when I asked for her help.
8/7 & 8/8 Nurse Ruth & nurse tech DeeDee were top notch! And great attitudes!
Nurses Karla & Michelle & nurse techs Janie & Lateka were also very good!
Dr. Rega stopped by everyday to ask if there was anything I needed--med adjustments, etc.). After I had been here a week, the bed was leaving a lot to be desired. When she asked me on Friday AM if there was anything she could get me, I half jokingly said a new bed would be nice. Her response was to let her see what she could do. When I returned from therapy at lunch, they delivered a new mattress! And they double stacked the new w/the old one. A major improvement!

I spent about 5 days at Millwood to treat my depression and suicidal thoughts. This place gets a bad rap apparently but personally I thought it was fine. Food was good, the rooms were pretty clean and neat, the group therapy helped a lot, and I made friends. The only thing that bothered me was how little time you get to talk to the doctor or the nurse practitioner about your issues. I only met with my doctor Dr. Day once, on the first day in the middle of the hallway, and that meeting lasted all of 2 minutes, during which he rather speedily diagnosed me with acute anxiety disorder and major depression. Never saw him again afterwards, only met with the nurse practitioner once each day afterward for similarly brief meetings. I feel like if we got more 1 on 1 time with the doctors or nurses we would receive a more comprehensive treatment. However, despite this issue, I overall feel much better than when I went in. Texas is ranked 18th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $56,623.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Texas vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
