This is a wonderful place! We stayed for my 40th birthday. Enjoyed being in the peace and quiet to really reflect. The amenities are great with a gym for people who actually lift weights! 💪 Thank you Maggie and Matt for everything!

Stunning views, luxurious accommodations, utter quiet, and a breathtaking night sky all combine to make High Frontier the perfect place to rest and recharge. Whether you just need a couple days away from it all or want to bring family and friends together in a beautiful setting, this modern, upscale destination is ideal. I stayed at Field House #2 with family and friends, with more friends just next door (we shared a huge patio with comfortable seating and an unforgettable view of the sunrise). The cabin was incredible: as someone who has stayed in many vacation rentals and air b and b's, I was shocked to find brand-new furnishings, a sleek gourmet kitchen (check out the lighted drawers in the photo below), a bathroom I wanted to dig up and take home, and so many extra touches. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, so you can be truly private, and the construction is so sound that once you close your door, you can't hear conversation from the main living area or the next bedroom. This is such a boon if you have small children who need quiet at naptime and bedtime, or if your group includes early-to-bedders as well as night owls, as my gang did. The huge flatscreen in the living room can stay loud all it wants -- you won't hear a thing in your bedroom! High Frontier is self-catering, and the kitchen redefines "well stocked." Coffee is waiting for you, and the drawers contain all the pots, pans, and cooking implements you could wish. Again, if you have ever rented a place that promised a stocked kitchen and turned out to be lacking a can opener, colander, or sharp knife, you will really appreciate High Frontier. And like every room in the cabin, the kitchen has huge windows with breathtaking vistas. One note about the light-flooded rooms: every single window has blackout as well as light-filtering curtains, so you won't wake at dawn with the sun in your eyes unless you choose to! And the atmosphere of the place is so restful: a midcentury modern vibe with lots of empty space, zero clutter, and great work areas, such as the huge island (with seating) in the kitchen, perfect for laptops, jigsaw puzzles, and big cooking projects. But as comfy as Field House #2 was, I didn't spend as much time in it as I wanted, because the outdoors is simply so compelling. The first thing you notice is the quiet, and the second is the vast empty space. Little trails and roads meander out beyond the field houses, and a big central lawn makes a great place for the group to toss a ball or the kids to burn off some energy. Just across the lawn from Field House #2 is the pool, complete with loungers and a fire pit. It's a great place to wind down in the evening. And then comes the best part: the night sky! I live in west Texas, so I thought I saw a starry sky every night at home, but I had no idea what I was missing. I hadn't seen the Milky Way stretched across the entire firmament like that since I was a child. You will want to lie down on one of the chaise longues on your patio and just gaze up at the sky. Amazing! High Frontier is an unforgettable place. It's just across the road from the entrance to the Chihuahua Desert Research Center, and a short drive from Fort Davis, Marfa, Alpine, etc. (On our drive from High Frontier to Marfa, we saw dozens of antelope!) The McDonald Observatory should be on your bucket list too. This is just a wonderful little corner of Texas, and you will be so glad you discovered it.

Had my first experience at High Frontier last week. The area was absolutely beautiful, and the rooms even more so. I was very impressed with the accomodations as well as the hospitality. The property is an excellent place to hold events as there is a ballroom, kitchen, and multiple areas to entertain. The pool was refreshing especially in the middle of the desert in the Texas heat.

The Springboard Center is a great treatment facility for anyone willing to get sober. It's a 30 day inpatient program. Springboard was very supportive every step of the way. The counselors, RA's and all the staff were extemely compassionate, kind and understanding. I have been so blessed to have been given the opportunity to rebuild my life on a clean and sober slate. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would as words cannot express my gratitude. I will forever be eternally grateful for my experience at Springboard.

The whole experience at the SpringBoard center has been positive. From the intake interview where they understood exactly what I was going through mentally, emotionally and physically. To providing transportation to the facility to start my recovery treatment. Counseling, therapist as well as individual sessions were what made all the difference in my recovery. I always felt that my needs were met at all aspects of recovery. Kitchen staff, janitorial kept the facility in top noch condition. Everyone who has asked me how I am doing in my journey of recovery, I tell them, " it wouldn't have been possible without The SpringBoard Center ." I will continue to recommend the SpringBoard center to anyone seeking to end a cycle of addiction.

Humphrey house is a place for the kids in our communtiy to go and be kept in their community and in the state. Families and youth have an opportunity to work together on their target goals together. Sometimes Humphrey House is often the better choice than the home for whatever reasons and that's just being honest. As always when looking at the whole picture you may not always get the answers and results you want but you get what you need. Humphrey house provides just that place that is needed even during the times it isn't wanted. It takes a village. And a village isn't perfect but they are willing to keep trying.

I attended this place, I believe starting in late may and ending 8/8/18. The facility itself is mediocre. From the time I attended to the time I left, there was a/c problems that where never resolved. There was ceiling leak that took over 2 weeks to “fix”(patchwork). They charge the insurance companies more than enough to repair this place. Light fixtures broken, tables broken, and the food is disgusting. They have no office manager or supervisor, the receptionist is who I was told was in charge. They allowed a therapist to question any and all concerns I had. They also allowed a therapist to argue with other patients. They neglected a patient in distress, who has a history or suicidal attempts and thoughts. They lack proper protocol and procedures. I would advise AGAINST going to this place.
