They have treated me with respect, and even when I was upset, they were professional and understanding. They will help you as much as they can. The caseworker is awesome. I appreciate his honesty and his support, as he will always give me great advice and hope. Prescriptions are given quickly when needed as soon as possible. They will work with your work schedule as well. I'm assuming the bad reviews are from those who didn’t give this place a chance or someone who had one bad experience. I have been with Tropical for 7 years now. I know it was a bit much for me at the beginning, but give it a chance; you’ll learn to grow as you seek the help you need. You’ll get to see how much these doctors do care, and they are doing their best to help you. Of course, like all hospitals and offices, it will be busy, and that’s not their fault, and they can only do so much, so I say come by and see for yourself if you're experiencing mental health issues. My doctor is nice; he cared for my sickness and had someone check my stomach. My psychiatrist is nice. I recommend anyone. Don’t listen to these bad comments; trust me. Seek your own opinion. I honestly don’t understand what these people want from a behavioral health facility. When they do all they can, everyone gets busy, and when they don’t answer your call, big deal; call them back. I’ve read these ridiculously bad comments.

Super affordable medications. I am able to treat my hyperthyroid with their affordable health care medications . They care about low income families. I can’t even express the gratitude I have from this place. There’s time I can’t afford to pay for medications and they let me take the medications even if I don’t have anymore money. They have doctors that work hard to help others. They are truly my life saving cause. I was also hospitalized on the physique union i was diagnosed with schizophrenia. They treated me well. Got me to come back to work. Now I get treated at Texas tropical. This place has save my life. I can’t thank the doctors and nurses enough for what they did for me.

Staff is not violent at all.they only take down patients when they are being violent
They limit clothes and belongings to prevent self harm doctor meetings are based on you level of care.your there to get help not treat the staff as hotel.maids they are there for you to talk to them helo you out. Not for anyone's temper tantrums.

Would not recommend. Case worker assigned to help my brother was of no help and offered no assistance when needed. I was recommended I speak to her supervisor and still no response from them. I directed my issues and concerns about my brother several times to them but nothing was done or they were not even addressed. I even spoke to their nurses as it had involved his meds no response. They just don't care about the individual and how they are doing. They really don't seem to follow up on the well being of their clients.

This place saves lives and not just because of the medicated assisted treatment program they offer. I don't know where I would be if it weren't for the kind staff member that answered the phone that day, I was in the middle of detoxing and was desperate, If you know you know! Yolanda answered she gave me strength to stay clean and courage to wait until I could do my orientation. She was caring, understanding, companionate and most importantly she treated me with dignity, which is not always the case when on medication for addiction. Since I've been attending the program I've gotten to know all staff and they are ALL just as amazing as Yolanda! If your looking for a MAT program I definitely recommend, however call ahead and get all details on how to sign up I know they do orientation on certain days and time. WE DO RECOVER! One day at a Time!!

Mrs. Escobar is AMAZING. When I first reached out for help I was very very sick. She explained that the doctor is only in on Tuesdays and I was calling on a Wednesday. She said she'd reach back out to check on me but I didn't really think she would. Monday came around and she actually called. I came in and am now doing better then ever. The staff is amazing and I'm greatful for all their help.

I was in the Hannah House from February 8th until March 10th. Everyone there is awesome. They literally care about everyone that is in there. Not going to lie the first couple weeks were rough but I survived thanks to the loving staff there. I learned routines and have kept up with them at home. I went in a very broken person addicted to Xanix and alcoholic with depression, grief and anxiety. I feel great no cravings whatsoever and I have been clean and sober for 62 days today! I was able to work through my depression, anxiety and grief also!! Thanks to this wonderful place where I will always call home.

I have battled with addiction to opiates since 2004, but since I became a client at El Dorado in June of 2015, I have been able to completely change my life. My counselor Gabe is very helpful, as is the supervisor, the receptionist, and the nurses. Its absolutely nothing like other MAT facilities, and I have been to facilities in Corpus Christi, TX, Houston, TX, Austin, TX, West Palm Beach, FL, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They made me pay out of pocket even though they accept my insurance and said it was because they paid their claims slow, and that I’d be reimbursed once they did. Well , it’s now September and they were paid by my insurance in May for services received in March, and I’m still trying to get this “reimbursement”. They won’t take my calls, answer my emails or send the check they had said they would. If clients are a few days late with payment they won’t dose them but they are months late on a reimbursement from double billing me and suddenly won’t pay.

Tried to get help for my heroine addiction. Spoke to director Laura then Shelly. It seemed they were both adamant on not offering services. They ask for name date of birth ss number several times as if I was lying or forget. I advised them that I'd rather get high than get id it's my addiction which is why I need the help. They can help me along the way to obtain id. But they shut the door as quickly and excited as o was finally get help for my opiate, heroin addiction. I will make a report to Tx. Deprt. Of Heath and Human services as they are funded by them to help the addiction epidemic. UNBELIEVALE WHAT A SHAME LADIES POSSIBLY IN THE LINES OF DISCRIMINATION DUE TO RACE.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is so good here. Katy the therapist is very good at what she does and is so sweet and understanding. She’s super knowledgeable and actually cares about everyone. Can’t say enough good things about her! Breakfast and lunch provided and medication management with Dr Agapito (who is the best psych I ever seen). Highly recommend the IOP program as a way to cope and develop skills to help mental health issues.

Original review 1 star: They never answer the phone, their auto attendant is a test message, and they don't return messages.
Edit: I ended up going into the office myself and speaking to a counselor. I proceeded to complete phase 1 and 2 here. Amazing experience. Don't know if they fixed the phone issue, but the councilors are incredible. Adrian, Monica, and Steven made a great impact in my recovery journey. Thank you all so much. 5 stars 🤩

My experience at my first hospital like this goes to show why people work at where they work. The techs were really patient but it also meant that they were very distracted among other things and the doctor rarely even sees you unless your case turns into an investigation. They prescribe you meds as soon as possible so its probably best if you know what they give my experience was overall alright on the basis but i feel they could do better than just doing things by the protocol or book. Anyways they make you feel at home and welcomed so i personally recommend this place as your first option.

The specialty clinic is clean, and as of this post, wait times for scheduled appointments are very minimal.
Great staff and veteran service.
As far as the windows where the clerks are, I feel the computers should not block the view between clerk and veteran (very rude).
Also, when at the clerks windows, there should be a "pull ticket paper number" and a diisplay showing what window the veteran should proceed to.
The ckerks fo a great job assisting veterans.
As a veteran and Google reviewer, I highly recommend the South Enterprize VA clinic.

It is no wonder why the services are horrible quality, case managers change so often for us clients, and there is no sense of order. There are so many ethics violations at any given time, including numerous HIPPA violations. Tell me why staff are leaving messages to the numbers on file for their clients without verifying the phone number. Or why we can hear case managers make fun of and joke about their clients down the halls. I have heard full on conversations, names, scenarios, everything about other clients simply from next door to the room I'm in. Doors are left open, staff make jokes and discuss PII topics in the open. Several of the staff members are clearly dissensitized. They treat us clients like we are a burden. The employees are very unprofessional. It is very clear they receive very little to no training with the apparent revolving door, that is MHID/MHMR. Case managers there have no clear roles it seems and this is confusing for us.
How this place is recieving any funding I do not know, this enter center needs to be audited. It seems both staff and clients are suffering due to incompetence from the upper management there.

I absolutely love the this Recovery Treatment center the staff, nurses , and the Counselors especially my Counselor who indeed cares for my recovery and couldn't asked for more. The staff are professional have a good sense of humor and honestly express themselves. Im always greatful to all the staff who work in one of the best facilities in Corpus Christi.
