Origins was instrumental in giving me my life back, to finally feel myself again.
I almost even felt a little bad for my family initially because the accommodations were far above and beyond what I expected. From the medical care, rooms, housekeeping, food, access to beach/gym, they truly make sure that the only possible thing on your mind there should be is recovery and it works. To that, the multi-pronged curriculum, its presentation and the ability to focus all your attention on it really makes it feel like you're taking a college course in sobriety while staying at a resort.
The caring and intelligence of the staff was also unparalleled even down to the Resident Assistants. Just being able to share the depth of thought about the nature and philosophy of addiction and sobriety offhandedly was refreshing and something completely unexpected.
All in all if it wasn't for the daily schedule being like my work schedule I'd even want to go just to take a break from life/work, here and there, lol :D

This place saves lives and not just because of the medicated assisted treatment program they offer. I don't know where I would be if it weren't for the kind staff member that answered the phone that day, I was in the middle of detoxing and was desperate, If you know you know! Yolanda answered she gave me strength to stay clean and courage to wait until I could do my orientation. She was caring, understanding, companionate and most importantly she treated me with dignity, which is not always the case when on medication for addiction. Since I've been attending the program I've gotten to know all staff and they are ALL just as amazing as Yolanda! If your looking for a MAT program I definitely recommend, however call ahead and get all details on how to sign up I know they do orientation on certain days and time. WE DO RECOVER! Mrs. Escobar is AMAZING. When I first reached out for help I was very very sick. She explained that the doctor is only in on Tuesdays and I was calling on a Wednesday. She said she'd reach back out to check on me but I didn't really think she would. Monday came around and she actually called. I came in and am now doing better then ever. The staff is amazing and I'm greatful for all their help.

If you struggling with an addiction to opiates, and you are tired of being sick and tired, reach out to El Dorado. The staff is amazing and they truly care. I have battled with addiction to opiates since 2004, but since I became a client at El Dorado in June of 2015, I have been able to completely change my life. My counselor Gabe is very helpful, as is the supervisor, the receptionist, and the nurses. Its absolutely nothing like other MAT facilities, and I have been to facilities in Corpus Christi, TX, Houston, TX, Austin, TX, West Palm Beach, FL, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Overall, an amazing experience. I don t want to ruin this review by being negative. However, I just wanted to say that the hospital needs to be careful with who they hire. There are a few bad apples I guess you could say, but I think that s being taken care of. Anywho, I was able to get back on track with my mental health. Having previous experiences with s.Texas Behavioral and Tropical, I would like to share that this hospital staff was so much more professional, empathetic and overall provided a much better experience. My son came home from his stay feeling validated with a new perspective. He mentioned a therapist R. Nelson, in the adolescente ward really connected with him. She made him feel understood and got through to him. He came home determined to challenge his own thoughts and is doing so much better. Wow, I'm speechless!!Some of these statements and comments are disturbing and they bring doubts into my mind!But I have to say quite the opposite! The day I called I was in a crisis and TTBH -Weslaco, kicked it into hi gear and I was given an appointment for intake and placement of services right the next day! And yes I even got a call back at 20:20 pm that same evening the operative asked and wanted to know how I felt and if I needed any help or if I was still presently in crisis! Then the next morning again I got a phone call at 0830 am, from another operative wanting to know if I was okay? Her call I missed because I didn't pick up, I thought it was a misc. call!But I made it to my appointment and I got the Red Carpet Treatment!! DR m when I walked into the building till when I left at 17:15 pm, I felt like they cared and I was their #1 priority!! They even had transportation for me from one of the supervisors who does that for a complete strangers!? I'll tell you who, Texas Tropical Behavioral Health -Weslaco!So, Idk and I'm not speaking for anyone else but myself! I'm going to give TTBH -WESLACO, a chance and I'm going to stick with them and my LOC plan! And if there is something I don't like I'm sure we can talk about it like civilized individuals!!Thank You, TTBH -WESLACO!!

Original review 1 star: They never answer the phone, their auto attendant is a test message, and they don't return messages.Edit: I ended up going into the office myself and speaking to a counselor. I proceeded to complete phase 1 and 2 here. Amazing experience. Don't know if they fixed the phone issue, but the councilors are incredible. Adrian, Monica, and Steven made a great impact in my recovery journey. Thank you all so much. 5 stars
