I absolutely love this place. My doctor Dr Kimberly Parks knows her stuff! I used to take a useless antipsychotic but she prescribed me a different medicine that really helps my mood, my thoughts, and my outlook on life. She is very knowledgeable and very smart. She helped me overcome suicidal thoughts by providing me with a medication that works! I'm very grateful for coming into association with her and am thankful for the help she's given me. She also helped me cut down on smoking by giving me anxiety medication and yeah I'm just way happy with the care I've received from her.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Riverwalk Ranch Treatment Center Riverwalk Ranch has truly been a life-changing place for me. When I came here, I was scared, unsure of my future, and unsure of myself. The staff here has shown me that recovery isn’t just possible — it’s something worth fighting for every single day. They treat you with genuine care, compassion, and patience, even on the days when you struggle to believe in yourself. I’m still learning, growing, and working through things — recovery is not always easy. But being here has given me real tools and real hope. Every therapist, tech, and counselor puts in the effort to help you understand what you’re going through and how to move forward in a healthier way. They celebrate the small victories with you and help you stay strong through the setbacks. The environment feels safe and supportive — the groups are meaningful, the activities help you reconnect with life, and the structure gives you stability. I’ve met people here who remind me that I’m not alone in this journey, and that has made such a difference. I’m still pushing through, but for the first time in a long time, I feel like I have a future worth looking forward to. I’m incredibly grateful to Riverwalk Ranch for being a huge part of that hope. If you’re thinking about getting help — this place can truly give you a new start.

I wish there was a ZERO star option. This place is something you would see on a movie! The “nurses” are actually just technicians, they take any opportunity to verbally or physically abuse patients. Laughing and teasing them. All we did was lay there all day, locked out of our subpar rooms, and a few (maybe 6 people) would get a chance to land a crappy recliner. You have to jump at the chance that someone may get up, but most times you will get yelled at if you grabbed one because it was “saved” by another patient. Otherwise, you are screwed, having to sit in a hard plastic chair all day long. Such a joke. Was there almost a week and there was not a single class. Was given shots that they called “booty juice”, a mixture of various meds that made me hallucinate for days on end. And locked into a room with nothing but a twin bed in it until I came to again. The “technicians’ are absolutely the worst part of this place; they probably make $12-$13 an hour to taunt and laugh at the patients. They act like the patients will not remember it, but we do. I came out of here with severe PTSD, I am FULL of black and blue bruises all over my body, and left with nightmares of this horrific experience.

HOPE gives you the tools to understand your addiction. It works if you work it, and it won’t if you don’t. Many years ago it worked for me. If you see a bad review on here, what you’re really seeing is a bitter addict unwilling to be honest with themselves and do the work.

But I stayed and graduated, this place tought me to learn patience and roll with changes that can come up in real life and not have to turn to drugs. I attended Burning Tree Ranch in 2019 after having been to multiple inpatient treatment centers. I was drawn to Burning Tree because of its long-term, Big Book–based approach, and it delivered on that promise. My time there helped me better understand alcoholism as a disease, address my root issues, and build a sustainable path to sobriety. A major strength of the program is its focus on healthy family involvement. My family gained education, boundaries, and non-enabling support, which was an important part of my recovery. Their aftercare program also stands out for keeping clients engaged and accountable well beyond treatment. Many of my closest connections today are still part of the Burning Tree community. If you or a loved one struggle with chronic relapse, it would be worth exploring whether Burning Tree is a good fit.

My review is based on my initial interactions with the staff at The Meadows Texas. My decision to choose this program for my Mother was made with complete confidence. The team at The Meadows Texas took time to listen, provided comforting words, gave advice, and explained their program in detail. Mark Degataga (Admissions Specialist) was my initial point of contact when I called to get information and I had already spoken to 9 other companies. He made me comfortable to go into detail about my Mothers struggles and was knowledgeable about the services The Meadows offered. Mark’s passion for the program and detailed information made me feel confident that this program was what we needed for my Mother. Mark stayed in communication with me over the course of 8 days. Answered all my questions and checked in not only on my Mothers progress but to see how I was doing as well. Although the ability to tour the facility was not an option due to privacy of patients, Mark gave a detailed description of the property, rooms, therapy, treatments, and activities that were going to be available throughout the program. Mark’s communication from the initial call all the way through admissions was extraordinary! He even called me to see how I was feeling after my Mom was situated and transported. Brenda Henson (Patient Financial Coordinator) was the second person I spoke to at The Meadows. She was professional and addressed all concerns. Not being able to tour the facility was still something I really wanted to do but understood the privacy of patients is important. I felt like at the very minimum I needed to see the grounds. I drove to The Meadows and had the opportunity to meet and speak with the Executive Director Lori Bachman. At this point I had already narrowed my decision down to 2 places. My conversation with Lori and ongoing communication with Mark made me feel at ease. The grounds were beautiful and Lori’s passion shined through just as Mark’s and Brenda’s did. They were genuine and are truly in this to help patients. Rehabilitation Programs are the initial stepping stones to help individuals start their road towards a better future. I know there is a lot of hard work and dedication that will be needed for ongoing success. I’m excited to see how my Mom will benefit from the treatment and services offered by The Meadows staff. I will post an update once services are completed. Thank you again to Mark, Brenda, and Lori for their compassion and assistance when dealing with a difficult time and helping this be a seamless process.

Nexus definitely gave me a place to educate and regulate myself daily. I gained many friends and have been touched by staff members such as Lauren, Jasmine, Tristan, Ms.Millie, Stephanie, Isabelle,Mrs.Tammy, and Chad, in ways I will carry with me in lifelong memories. Nexus gave me to the tools I needed in my empty toolbox to allow me to turn the waterfall of sobriety into the stream of recovery. There were a few hiccups in my stay there which is why I will only give 4 stars today. I am genuinely grateful and happy that I went to Nexus and was able to grasp ahold of the horns of courage, the wings of serenity, and the strength of wisdom. I would recommend this place for anyone who is serious about staying sober and has the capacity for tolerance and patience. Thank you to all the amazing staff that helped this wayward sheep find her way back to her heard.

Before learning about this place; I had very limited knowledge about what programs I would be qualified for (I’m a veteran) I assumed just the VA (for medical ) and I never gave it much thought past that . Finding out about the RRC has dramatically changed my life for the better; and I’m profoundly grateful. Prior to going there -I had lost my job and was about to be added to the ranks of the newly homeless (Depending on how you define “ homeless” in some people’s eyes, I would’ve already been there. I was staying on the floor of a gym at a church where I would clean every night in exchange for sleeping there. I was too stubborn to go to a homeless shelter, because the one thing I had left in my life that I had no intention of leaving was my cat. Me and Cleo have been together a long time- she’s my family. Fast forward almost a year. I have my own car; my own apartment (cat friendly! ) I make a little income online but also searching for a job (it’s hard to maintain a job if you can’t wash your clothes or have a place to stay) RRC didn’t do EVERYTHING for me - But I can honestly say I would not be where I’m at now without them. And although it’s a government agency, I have not met a bad employee from there- My caseworker, Amanda Jones; has went out of her way numerous times to help me-These people care about their clients and they do whatever they can to help them- If you are a veteran and you need help, they should be the first people you call. You won’t regret it. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for me.. Thank you RRC and Especially AMANDA!! William (Former squid; GMG - USS Wabash)
