My experience at Riverwalk Ranch has truly been life changing. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported, welcomed, and treated with genuine compassion and respect. The staff created an environment where I could focus on healing and beginning my recovery on the right track.
A special thank you to Alek and Koti for their encouragement and support throughout my stay. Thank you as well to the RCs — Beau, Chelsea, and Courtney — for always showing kindness, understanding, and consistency every day. Their support made a bigger difference than they probably realize.

Mansfield, TX | Texas Health Recovery and Wellness Center, located in Mansfield, Texas, is a substance use disorder and mental health treatment center that provides gender specific care for men and women. They are also LGBTQ friendly and provide specialty tracks for young adults. Texas Health Recovery and Wellness Center offers detoxification services, residentia | Treatments Programs Payment Options | In the 33 days I spent there I was given time to medically detox, fed delicious and nutritious food, taught the nature of my addiction in scientific terms, given one on one therapy, given the option to attend wellness activities such as yoga and was provided time with a personal trainer to work on regaining my strength. We enjoyed the on facility pool, team building exercises with the other residents and even had movie time once a week. I also was able to take advantage of a virtual reality session that prepared me for being exposed to my DOC in a safe environment and allowed me a one on one session with an expert trained in exposure therapy. This allowed me to see how physiologically my body will respond to triggers and therefore gave me much better ability to prepare for returning to my life outside of the center.
The residental staff is caring, compassionate and friendly. The therapists were knowledgeable, present and available when I needed them. The 12 step team taught a comprehensive program that broke down the literature in a way that was easy to grasp. The kitchen staff provided fantastic meals. The rooms were kept clean daily and provided me with my own private balcony-a beautiful place to begin and end my days, reflecting on the many thoughts that addicts ponder during treatment.
I look forward to continuing my treatment there with the PHP program and intend to complete my IOP at this location as well. I was given such great care that I wanted to ensure continuity of treatment throughout all the steps of my treatment program.
Highly recommend to anyone who's ready to change their life.

Fort Worth, TX | MedMark Treatment Center has a clinic in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s a place to get medication assisted treatment if you’re battling an opioid addiction. This means they use medicines like methadone and buprenorphine to reduce your withdrawal symptoms when you’re first getting sober. You can also use them to ease your cravings later in your recov | Treatments Programs Payment Options | The 5 star rating review is for the nursing staff Alisha, Tamra, Chery and Leslie; with out these awesome amazing wonderful nurses this clinic would cease to exist. These nurses work so hard and truly care about the disease of addiction and recovery. The personalities the nurses have is what makes coming to medmark so great. The level of professionalism and compassion the nurses have is 2nd to none. I admire and appreciate these nurses so much ☝🏻☝🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. The second part to my 5 star review is for the absolutely amazing chemical dependency counselors that work here day in and day out with some having over 40 or more clients on there caseload, these counselors; Myrtle, Ken, among others work so hard to advocate for you as a patient on this program. The first person you'll meet upon entering Medmark clinic is front office manager Mrs. Phyllis who has worked for Medmark for nearly 10 years, Mrs. Phyllis will absolutely make your day and have you smiling 😃. Mrs. Gwen who is the clinic financial officer who oversees patients bills is a fine individual as well and cares that the patients are receiving the best possible care while at the clinic. You will absolutely love and appreciate our clinic medical director ( Dr. Kurz ) Dr. Kurz has so much medical knowledge and true compassion for everyone of Medmark's clients, she has a deep genuine concern for each of us and I am so thankful to have Dr. Kurz here at Fort Worth Medmark. This clinic and program has saved my life; yes there can be some fear and apprehension about Methadone; but when compared to the alternative drugging life style; Methadone by all means returns you to a normal working citizen back in society, no more of days on end of chasing drugs and wondering where to get your next fix or how to pay for that fix; those days come to an end and stop the day you decide you've had enough of the drug seeking lifestyle that we we're all living. I've been with this clinic ever since Medmark took over ownership in May of 2011. I've seen my share of clinic directors come and go at Medmark, there's been some awesome directors in my time, but my one ⭐️ Review for the end of this review is for the unprofessional unethical clinic director we now have who's name is Sharron; Mrs. Sharron is by far the worst clinical treatment director Medmark has had in my 15 years at this clinic. The directors ways of treating both staff and clients is so poorly that i wouldn't treat a dog that way. Don't get me wrong; Medmark is a great clinic; it's just corporate Medmark needs to seriously hire a new treatment director who will work together building the employees up as well as the clients. When a treatment center has a director who spends her day; ( that is when she is there ) in a closed office and does not get to know the patients who provide Mrs. Sharron a paycheck and works overtime to breakdown her staff and employees and bring division between staff clients and herself; THEN IT'S HELL TIME FOR MEDMARK TO GET A NEW DIRECTOR. since this director has been here; Medmark Fort Worth has gone down hill !!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Mrs. Sharron has caused more amazing counselors to leave Medmark for other treatment places, she has also caused so many clients to leave and find other treatment programs !! 🤬🤬🤬. My pray and hope is that the Medmark powers to be will see this and investigate and terminate Mrs. Sharron from her director position AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !!

Whoa things been changing lately for the better it looks like!! Such good energy in there now, good friendly vibes. Doesn’t feel like a line assembly or that they don’t care. They’re even offering group counseling now which I think is really great!! I can tell since they got that new director lady with the cool dreads I think her name Sharin. Sadd to hear bout Miss Jacqui but she is in a better place. They got another girl to replace Miss Jacqui rest in peace Miss Jacqui. But so far this new supervisor seem really attentive and as though she really listenin. I hear a couple more counselors leavin but honestly they gotta get on. It’s already gotten better n I think it will keep on. Just takes time sometime. So far I’m impressed 5 stars big improvement

I have been to Mesa Springs many times for both detox and mental health stays, and the staff there showed me kindness and compassion during some of the hardest periods of my life. Even when I was far from a perfect patient, I was consistently met with care, patience, and understanding instead of judgment.
The facility was always clean, safe, and comfortable, and the food was good as well. The doctors were attentive and present, which made a huge difference. I never felt like just another number there the way I have at some other facilities. The staff genuinely wanted to see me get well and supported.
One person who especially stands out in my memory is Ms. Amelia. Even years later, I still remember the compassion she showed me during a very difficult time in my life, and I will always be grateful for that.
The outpatient program at Mesa Springs was also incredibly helpful. Being able to participate in group therapy with people going through similar struggles made me feel less alone and gave me a sense of connection and hope.
I would highly recommend Mesa Springs to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or anyone needing help detoxing from substances. They truly care about the people who walk through their doors.

OT Edwin was the Best! A little hard at times, but balanced with encouragement that challenged my mindset to think in positive terms of what I believed I could do physically.
PT Justin was also very good at tailoring my workouts to accommodate sore muscles rather than charging forward with his original plan. He was very conscious to not over use a strained muscle and possibility risking an injury, but altered my plan to still achieve the goals set.
In reference to OT Edwin & PT Justin, I am amazed with my progress from Monday 8/4 to Friday 8/13!
Nurse on 8/6 (Wed overnight into Thursday AM) had a very unhelpful attitude towards me. It was like I was wasting her time when I asked for her help.
8/7 & 8/8 Nurse Ruth & nurse tech DeeDee were top notch! And great attitudes!
Nurses Karla & Michelle & nurse techs Janie & Lateka were also very good!
Dr. Rega stopped by everyday to ask if there was anything I needed--med adjustments, etc.). After I had been here a week, the bed was leaving a lot to be desired. When she asked me on Friday AM if there was anything she could get me, I half jokingly said a new bed would be nice. Her response was to let her see what she could do. When I returned from therapy at lunch, they delivered a new mattress! And they double stacked the new w/the old one. A major improvement!

I'm a firm believer in God first and then medicine, I wish I got the chance to be in his care a year ago. And maybe I'll be further a long in the journey, but everything happens for a reason. God, Me, Dr, Medicine I'm grateful to feel better than I have in 2years, now that's the change I'm talking about. If only the whole Fort Worth mental health system had a Dr. Lawrence, the most passionate and caring Dr, God sprinkled him with Golden powers. I'm convinced he works for Jesus 😊 thank you sir. Nurses awesome, techs awesome thank y'all so much I'm beyond grateful.

I never leave reviews on places via Google, but here we go.
This place absolutely saved my LIFE. The other patients there were very friendly and funny, and managed to get me out of my shell. The staff were so kind and considerate, and always knew exactly what to say. I've never felt safer before when going to a program like this.
I was almost distraught when I had to get discharged, but overall, during the two and a half weeks I was there, this significantly changed my life for the better.
I LOVE ALL OF YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
P.S Hannah, I'll never forgive you for making me lose a game of uno on my last day there.

Desoto, TX | Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is located in Desoto, Texas. It provides comprehensive care to adolescents, adults, and the elderly who are living with mental health struggles, drug addictions, and other issues impacting their health and well-being. Care is provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings and is dependent on the type of pro | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was sent here involuntarily per the court. I was supposed to stay 5-7 days but with the new years holiday and a couple of weekends I was there a little longer.
The facility places you in units based on your needs and diagnosis.
I was in unit one for my duration so I can’t speak to any of the other units and what happens there.
I was terrified coming in having not ever being at a facility like this before I had no idea what to expect. When I came in it was night and I heard some yelling and cursing that added to my anxiety. I am from a somewhat affluent suburb and had only seen places like this in the movies.
Unit one was made up of men and women. That also made me apprehensive. There are two people to a room. Which consists of two single beds two bookcases and a bathroom. Everything had been well thought out as far as safety measures.
There is a common room where everyone can socialize if they want to. All of this is supervised by the techs and other staff which gave me a huge sense of security.
There is a schedule for waking up, getting vitals, medication, meals, gym, group therapy ( which was done by Carmen) shout out to Carmen she was really helpful in so many ways!
Also on the schedule was hygiene and bedtime. I’m not a scheduled person and like to stay up late and sleep in. By the end of the stay I had learned to appreciate the schedule and am trying to stick to one now that I am at home.
I can not say enough about how wonderful the staff on Unit 1 was. I could list names but it would be too many and I’m really bad at names and remembering them.
The nurses were amazing and really took prided in their work and it showed. The techs made up the rest of the staff on the floor and they do so many things from doing 15 minute rounds for 12 hours to handling meal service being there to lend an ear. Being silly sometimes to lighten the mood and bring laughter. Kanard I’m speaking about your little happy dances. Sheena and Mary were like the mothers we didn’t have in there. Brittany the protective big sister who you could tell anything to and Dylon and big Rod I’m sure that’s his name but if not the big part will ensure that you know whom I’m speaking of. They were all very empathetic to our situations and just so very good to have in our unit.
That was probably my one complaint. I would have liked to have had more healthy food options especially fresh fruit. I did ask for some and I got an orange that they had cut up the way that moms do. I feel that above and beyond given their workload so shout out kitchen staff.
I know I’m going to leave out people by names because I’m bad at remembering them but I will never forget Charles and Ezeck the two nurses that really looked out for everyone’s health and well being
Like I said Unit one is exactly where I needed to be at that point in my situation and time.
To sum it up amazing morning and nighttime staff on Unit one.
Areas that need improvement
- healthier food options
-opportunities for a variety of physical exercise- maybe an instructor led yoga class if for nothing else but stretching and breathing exercises.
- daytime activities aside from tv. I really would have appreciated a book to read or a chore- just something to do.
- lastly I was not as all impressed with the Doctors I had and the ones I observed. They were focused on medication but not what got us there or the help we needed. A lot of the times they were very dismissive to the patients. I was sent to this hospital to get better but they really offered no counseling at all. I mean at all. The only therapy we got was from Carmen and again she was awesome but it was in a group and not necessarily suited to individual needs so they really need counselors!!!
Healthy food
Opportunities for physical exercise.
Counselors
More mentally stimulating options like I said even a book or a crossword puzzle would help during the hours of boredom.
I hope the powers that be read this and give the recognition this staff deserves!! PS they love food…wink wink.

My daughter stayed here for a week, and the intake process was excellent. I want call her name, but there was a lady who prayed with my daughter. I thank you so much. They made me feel at ease. It was hard leaving her there, but she needed help. She was extremely nervous at first, but she quickly grew comfortable. She liked her therapist and really enjoyed the group therapy sessions. She also connected with other patients she could relate to. The nurses were very helpful and took the time to explain the process and how everything worked. I was able to speak with the staff whenever I needed to, and they were always supportive. You must follow their policy and procedure. My daughter wanted to stay for the 10-day program, so it helped her. She’s not completely cured yet, but the foundation has been set. I just need continued follow-up and support through the outside resources they provide. There were a few things I didn't like. It can be replaced.
