This place saved my son’s life! SAVED HIS LIFE!
My son was there for one year 2024-2025 and he completed the programs, classes meetings and then lived at Genesis Sober Living. He would be in jail or dead if it wasn’t for the Sanctuary. Chris M and the court judge always worked with my son to make sure he stayed on track. So many others can succeed with this type of program. I wish Texas had something like this. My kids Father was sent to this place 7 months ago and was released today! I am so disturbed by this place. This is not a treatment center. This is more like a jail. He went in weighing 180 lbs. when I seen him today, I was shocked and sad then I got pissed. He weighs 150. Lost 30 lbs. They eat two little cereal bowls and a fruit , lunch a can of cold raviolis and for dinner, always rice and beans , and small cake. He started working while there and they take $300 out of his paycheck every week (for whats???) and they also charge Medicaid. So why are they taking $300 a week from him. When he first arrived they took his phone, Wallet and had 150 in cash. They signed some paper saying what he came in with and today no one could find it! They are crooks and running a “rehab” what seems to be illegal. He could not write letters or receive any. Barely called. I am definitely pursing legal action. My husband was neglected . They have no mirriors so for 7 months he could not see what he looked like. I’m am in such shock on how he looks. They ought to be ashamed and I hope they get shut down and be held accountable for treating people this way! Do not send your loved ones here! sanctuary Louisiana is no where near a “treatment center.” Whoever Mr white is. You signed off saying you would keep his valuables safe! It’s shame you have to steal what little he had! And who ever owns this compound , Shame on you! How can you sleep at night stealing money from patients and probably a lot of Medicaid fraud going on too. . I can only imagine what Medicaid pays you to feed patients. Thousands a month I’m sure. I will pursue legal action and definitely will file a complaint with Medicaid.

Tom is wonderful and the other clients are welcoming and the program as a whole, very supportive. I participated in the online IOP sessions and they were incredibly convenient, as I was able to access them from anywhere.
Assignments were thought provoking and informative - and short (or you can make them longer if you choose - with a video or 2 to watch before each session that were 5-10 min each, and a writing prompt to contemplate or write/journal about.
Tom is very insightful and incredibly helpful and easy to connect with. His manner with others is strong but not forceful and I’m very grateful to have found this center, very confidently located to my home, to aid my recovery.

"Update: June 24th 2025, the VA has taken strides in streamlining Veteran care in all its facilities, it is not the same as it used to be. You can pre check in to your appointments. They really care about veterans and working on their timeframes. " Previous review: I could go to Houston 2 hrs away and be seen.. However if you dont go to this outpatient clinic they will not see you unless you are seen within 2 yrs.. They will refuse you to be seen. In Baton rouge I was seen immediately that day at that va outpatient clinic.

People need to be grateful we have a clinic now. Im very thankful we do. They do a good job provide free coffee and really go out of their way to help you. YOU Vets complaining either stop going and go pay for your healthcare somewhere else instead of taking up spots for VETERANs that actually need and appreciate the care the VA is providing. I have worked in the substance use disorder and mental health field for many years and when I discovered Sanctuary Louisiana I never knew such a unique place existed in Louisiana. They offer three levels of therapeutic care, the traditional 28 Day Program, a halfway house (which are hard to find in Louisiana) and an IOP program. As another benefit sober living homes are available that are actually supervised with random drug screens. What is even more unique is that they have a highly qualified counseling and medical staff, find jobs for clients in the halfway house program instead of throwing in the world to find their own jobs and provide transportation to and from work. The whole spectrum of services provides a gradual exposure to life's stressors as opposed to 28 days and you are on your own. Long term treatment is what works for those with substance use disorders and those that complete the program have higher than average success rates in regards to sustained recovery. Substance use disorders don't develop overnight and years of addiction requires long term treatment as that is not overcome overnight either. Especially when most people with addictions have a substance use disorder and a mental health disorder, called co-occurring disorders All of the client's psychiatric and physical health needs are met as they provide medication management services with a PNP and an MD. It is a gem in plain sight.

What an incredible, amazing, wonderful, beautiful, awesome place and community this place is! I was searching for a PHP/IOP/Sober living facility for weeks to help me continue on my path of recovery and as soon as I made my first phone call and spoke to Jacob I knew it my heart I had finally found the perfect spot for me. The entire staff was welcoming and helpful and supportive, the group sessions along with my peers helped me fully understand this disease and without them I’m not sure if I would’ve made it. My appreciation and gratitude for this program are through the roof and I would HIGHLY suggest anyone who needs help with addiction and mental health and staying sober to contact this place. They are #1 in my book and again I cannot give them enough thanks and praise for everything they’ve done for me!

I have gone a couple times and the staff have been great I would recommend this place before anywhere else and I have been to other place. So thankful for my Santa Maria Family. My sister was her about 3 times in 2 years. Every time we tried to get her admit, we didn’t follow protocol and the staff always assisted us and she was always approved! The staff looked out for my sister and niece, it takes a village and thank god for each and every staff member here! From the counselors to the security. Instill updated them on my sister because I know they care for her.
I never got to visit inside so no comment but i witnessed my sister get her own place, look healthier by the day and get employment. She a break and time to recover.

I wasn't there for long, but I can see the good this place does for people. I left due to inner conflictions of faith, but that wouldn't be the case with the vast majority of people who come here. I would recommend to 99% of people who have addiction issues, as this place is a hidden haven for those who need it the most. I appreciated a lot of the staff. The fact that all of them used to go here at one point gives another element that adds to the success of this place. Appreciate the willingness to help and to accept anyone no matter who they are. I went through the Bay Area Recovery Center, and it completely changed my life. After getting a DUI, I was required to go through this program to keep my job — but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
I’ve now been clean and sober for almost 10 months. The staff truly care and helped me believe in myself again. A huge thank you to Mr. Billy and Blake and everyone there for guiding me through my recovery.

I go there all the time for therapy and it's also a resale shop so there are many clothes and stuff like that. It's an awesome environment everyone is very sweet and if you were in Irish needs there is food available. They were also help with any issues you're having money wise or anything like that. I think it's one of the best places here in bacliff for helping people in bad situations.
