Going through phoenix Rc was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do but in the end it was worth it and one of the best decisions I have ever made! A year later and I’m thriving, I am now a certified peer support specialist and work in a crisis center. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of phoenix RC!

Sent here back in the early 2000's. Can't speak to how it's changed, only to the impact it's had in my life. The TTI in Utah is a notorious cash cow. Heritage is likely better than the majority of surrounding RTC's. That said, I completed my MTP in <1 year while i was there, and due to a combination of my parents enjoying a child free life + the $100k annual value my internment provided, heritage was all too happy to create an entirely new MTP and keep me there for another ~ year despite their initial claims of not being able to continue my confinement if I completed my MTP. I was able to 'escape' via an alternate route - when the staff realized what I'd accomplished they asked me if I'd voluntarily remain for another ~18 months. I declined. The therapy program I went through was lackluster, the clinical side was atrocious. I say this as a psych major, now having attended nearly 2 decades of multi modal therapies. To those who would judge harshly - I have earned my degree, I have served my country honorably and am a purple heart combat veteran. I am also ~40 years old and retired, sitting on more liquid and having a larger portfolio than most people twice my age. I have traveled the world extensively and developed, maintained, and nurtured healthy relationships while living a fulfilling life. I have served my community and peers via non profit work, working with vulnerable populations and as an educator, and I donate philanthropically. I am a healthy, happy, thriving member of our society. Heritage played a nearly nonexistent role in my success and its contribution is largely overshadowed by its harm and deficiencies. This place left me with deep trauma and did not foster healing. This was...impotent operant conditioning at best. I do not have a relationship with my parents anymore - afaik there was zero education for the parents, there were zero conversations re: relationship and attachment dynamics, the interconnected roles of respect, emotional safety, emotional needs; minimal exploration and education re: development of self concept. Zero accountability for the family and zero conversations re: how nurturing plays the larger role in development. The internal framework I left with was....broken. I suffered nightmares for many years. In comparison, the trauma and horror I experienced in war on the ground in a combat MOS, after years of conditioning in the total institution that is the military, was easier for me to process and heal than my experience in this place. I was a child. I was especially vulnerable. Some of the staff truly cared. They made it bearable. 'Some.' Many were cruel and callous, having no business being employed. The addiction education I received, shout out to Francisco, played a major role in my sobriety later on but failed to provide immediate results as the clinical therapy and my subsequent willingness was lacking. Many of the individuals that were here with me while I was here are not doing well. I am an outlier. Some are in prison serving long sentences and most have surrendered to their addiction or trauma. Few, thrive. The TTI as a whole is not to be trusted. Profits mean more to them than your child's well-being. Your child's well-being starts with you, your ability to take accountability and ownership of your role; your healing, humility, education and growth. There are many resources available to you that do not require this intervention. Be cautious. Your child deserves you at your best. The cycle of intergenerational trauma will not end, unless you take it upon yourself to recognize and dismantle the bars of your own cage.

Life sucks and this place gave me a second chance. I learn a lot from team building being a leader and coping with issues. I was 140 lb left 210 all muscle. I left physically and mentally strong cuz I didn't make excuses I made changes. All these bad reviews are low life's whole didn't make it in life or just a bad parent. You either going to make it or not in life and that's what this school taught me and my unit. God bless this school and may they keep saving more youth with addictions and problems.

I came to Deer Hollow carrying years of unresolved trauma and symptoms that had taken over my life. I had tried therapy before, but nothing reached the root of what I was dealing with until I walked through their doors. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel safe, grounded, and understood in a way I hadn’t experienced anywhere else. Residential treatment was intense, structured, and emotionally heavy at times — but it was also exactly what I needed. The trauma-focused work, especially IFS, helped me understand why I reacted the way I did, where my patterns came from, and how to work with the parts of myself that had been stuck for so long. The therapists were incredibly skilled, patient, and compassionate. They didn’t just teach me tools; they helped me truly heal. Moving through the step-down levels of care gave me time and support to practice what I was learning while still having a clinical team behind me. Each phase built on the one before it, and for the first time, I felt real change happening — not temporary relief, but deep, foundational healing. Deer Hollow didn’t just help me manage my trauma; they helped me reclaim my life. I’m grateful every day that I made the decision to go.

Despite my difficulties and frustrations deep diving into my past traumas, while utilizing the different modalities offered at DH; I did the strenuous work to process and find my path to peace again. Investing in myself has been the greatest gift. DH’s Therapists, medical staff, chefs, and techs were genuinely committed to helping me through my processing. Thank you very much for your support and continued assistance on my trajectory finding happiness and joy again. Let it be known, RNs need nurturing too; this is a special place to find it. When you are serious about recovery come to Deer Hollow. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. I am a Paramedic that came up in the time of “stuff those emotions down”, I’m here to tell you that does not work. They come back with a vengeance and hopefully you don’t take your own life before you get help. Give Deer Hollow a chance, The staff is top notch and they have been through similar stuff and achieved Victory. You will be with peers going through the same stuff, no matter what their background we are more alike than different. I thank the people of Deer Hollow for saving my life. Don’t believe the lie that you are telling yourself, “that I’m not hurting anyone else” there are people in your life that love you and want to help.

I feel very grateful for Brandon Morgan’s careful, and thoughtful treatment of me at a very fragile place in my life. He was very compassionate and present with me. Ha saw me…. That’s so important to be seen. And he saw me. He saw past other peoples assumptions of me, and confirmed where I was really at. I Gained so much more confidence because of his care filled treatment. On My third appointment with him I chose to have therapy as well as his help with medications. I’m just as pleased with the therapy as it was from the beginning with his compassionate ways. As a professional in the industry, I had the opportunity to tour this beautiful facility. The staff was very welcoming and provided me with great details about their program as they showed me around the buildings, explaining what they could offer to the adolescents they work with. I loved the "adopt a cat" program and the equine services that they offer to their students. It was clear that their mission was to provide excellent treatment to their clients, aiming to set them up for success upon leaving.

The team is very warm and welcoming. They are very professional and passionate about helping kids grow and develop.

The Pathways inpatient facility gave me more than physical safety and care—it gave me something I had never truly known before: true emotional safety. The entire staff worked together to help me grow in the three areas of life that must be engaged—mind, body, and spirit. I walked in carrying a heavy prejudice against all men, but it was three men in particular who ended up aiding me the most, showing me that at our core, we really are all just human. My main therapist, Daryl, guided me through reshaping my mindset and digging into my past to uncover my deepest wounds. He stood by me on one of the most emotionally painful days of my life, and I will never forget Destiny—one of the incredible nurses—literally running after him as he was about to head home, just so he could be there for me in that moment. Dr. Sellers provided me with the best medical care I could have asked for. He never rushed through visits, always taking the time to explain not just what he was doing, but why—making sure I understood and felt safe with my treatment. I also want to thank Dawn, a powerhouse nurse who believed in my strength even when I couldn’t see it myself, and who pushed me to rise to the challenge. Michael Ryan gave me the gift of faith and clarity in my higher power. He challenged me in ways I desperately needed, helping me confront the destructive core beliefs that caused me so much suffering and turn them upside down. He gave me the tools to question my own thoughts, and to approach them with both curiosity and compassion. Somehow, even in the middle of facing the hardest truths, he still managed to make me laugh and feel safe. I would also like to thank Lonnie, whose powerful meditation sessions left a deep impact on me. His encouragement meant so much because it came from a place of such authenticity. To all of you—thank you not just for changing my life, but for teaching me how to truly live it to the fullest.

There are many wonderful organizations and people in service to helping others with treatment and recovery. For me, the right fit was, is, and will continue to be Pathways. These folks are authentic in their desire to help change lives. They are some of the most remarkable humans I have been blessed with coming across in life. They are talented and skilled, and well equipped to meet mental health and substance abuse needs. They are particularly experienced with integrating well-rounded trauma focused treatment, using a variety of evidence based treatment modalities. Pathways staff AND clients create a safe space of healing and growth, and a place of acceptance and belonging, and without judgement. As a pathways client, I feel a sense of unity, community, and unyielding support. Pathways has LITERALLY saved my life. They have helped me find healing, and open doors to change my life. They have equipped me with the confidence, strength, tools, and understanding of my root influences to my recovery needs to live a new life, my best life! A life of healing and happiness I have never experienced before. I will be in eternal gratitude for this very sacred organization. The staff here is very caring. The chef makes the most delicious food. Grateful for the work of all involved from intake through the residential process and the aftercare support. They work hard to keep their clients engaged long after leaving treatment. Thank you Diamond for changing lives!

Just rocked out of Diamond Recovery Centers. Kylee is the greatest Alumni program director. If your fighting your addiction and If your looking for a place for treatment this is the place to be. Detox first, then get ready for one of the most homelike healing experiences. I came here after detox with a willing spirit and an open mind. That is the requirement, in my opinion to complete successfully. Three gourmet meals a day adds to the most relaxing rehab I have ever been too. The staff actually give a damn here and make it their mission to make sure you get to where you need to be afterwards. I am most grateful to get a chance to be a better me. Diamond staff assisted me with that and helped me see my worth and clearly build a path toward success.

I did the residential treatment program here, it is 60 days and it is such a great recovery center. I don't think 5 stars is enough, they actually deserve 10 stars. I love Diamond Recovery and if your thinking about recovery please give them a call, they will help you. They will help you. Everything they do is great for recovery... Call them if you need help!!!

I began Deer Hollow’s outpatient program after completing residential treatment, and it became one of the most meaningful phases of my healing. Outpatient gave me the structure and support I still needed, while also allowing me to start rebuilding my life outside of treatment. The therapists at Deer Hollow are incredible. They understand trauma on a level I’ve never experienced before, and they know how to create a safe space where you can go deep without feeling overwhelmed or judged. The work we did — especially IFS and the group sessions — helped me continue unraveling the patterns and protective parts that had controlled so much of my life. What made outpatient so powerful for me was the combination of accountability, connection, and continued therapeutic intensity. I was able to practice real-world coping skills during the week and then bring what came up back into group and individual therapy. It felt like a bridge between treatment and everyday life, and it gave me confidence I didn’t have before. The community is also something special. Being surrounded by people who understand trauma, who get the ups and downs, and who are all working toward healing made me feel less alone. I built relationships there that still support me today. Deer Hollow’s outpatient program helped me solidify the progress I made in residential and gave me the tools to live with clarity, stability, and hope. I’m genuinely grateful for the care and compassion I received during this part of my journey.

You need to refine the IOP program the afternoon aspect of IOP in particular accountability for the afternoon.

The best thing about the Ranch is their Alumni program. We still meet every Wednesday, and do multiple retreats throughout the year. You always feel connected and supported. I owe this place my life.
