I’m not sure why there seems to be so many negative reviews. We’ve been getting care here for a while now and almost everyone has been caring and respectful. I will say that time management is something they can improve on. We waited what I feel was an unreasonable amount of time for a vaccine during the Saturday walk in, and there were only a couple of people waiting for vaccines. Our doctor has been especially supportive and has gone above and beyond to help us with our healthcare needs. Thank you!

Depual Detox center is literally the worst detox place I could EVER think of going. It was absolutely horrific. It was my first time in a treatment center and the staff were okay I suppose but the environment itself is absolutely awful. I felt like I was in a jail sail and they doped me up in medication too where I couldnt even move for the first 6 too 12 hours. They also gave me a nicotine patch that gave me the most vivid awful nightmares I've ever had in my life. When I woke up I was literally choking on my spit. Right after I decided too leave and detox at home where I'm comfortable. It was literally the worst experience I've literally ever had in my life and I'm serious when I say that that experience will haunt me for the rest of my life.

The Clearing is a substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health treatment center in Friday Harbor, Washington. The program previously offered a residential treatment option. However, they are relaunching their program online for ease of use and at a more affordable cost. The organization accepts self pay and has an income based sliding fee scale.
Our family member was an attendee at The Clearing beginning July 2019. She had attended six 12 step inpatient rehab programs over the past 10 years and only experienced short term abstinence after each program. During the times she was "clean" it was through sheer will power. As a dear friend once said: "While she was in AA meetings, her addiction was out in the parking lot doing push-ups". Then this same friend recommended The Clearing. Several things struck us as different right away. Our family member was interviewed by the owners to see if the program was a good fit. Then, we learned that all participants start at the same time. They are on the journey together without new participants joining intermittently during the 28 days. Finally, this was the first place that REALLY looked at co-diagnosis. Other places gave lip service to treating co-diagnoses and gave 2-4 hours of counseling during a twenty eight day stay. At the clearing there was 120 hours of counseling. This is unheard of and in our hearts we know that this is what allowed our loved one to finally get to the bottom of her pain. Our family training is allowing us to better walk her new life with her and for that we are grateful. The post program support has made a huge difference in her confidence. We finally have our dear family member back and for that we will be forever grateful.

The Clearing is a TREMENDOUS program. I had went for anxiety, depression, disorganized eating. I didn't have a drug or alcohol addiction but it didn't matter. All traumas are addressed from the underlying core emotional issues. The program requires you to give your all. There is 6 days a week work, starting with tai chi, workshop, meditation, 1:1 counseling and more. You will thoroughly learn the process to uncovering your hurt and how to heal. The staff is amazing. There are no judgements, no shame, just healing peace. The grounds are fantastic, the animals are therapeutic, the food is out of this world. The key is to pour your heart and soul into this process, that's what makes this so transformative. You realize you have everything you need to heal right inside of you once you understand how to get there. There is support from staff and the other participants every step of the way. You are never alone in your healing. Make the phone call or text, ask every question, do your due diligence and you will not be let down. You are truly loved; from day 1 and long after you leave the grounds The Clearing is there for you and your family.

Encouraging, educated staff at the Clearing form personal bonds with every participant. The curriculum is advanced, for individuals ready to work on themselves and grow while they overcome addictions and their underlying issues. Be prepared to do a lot of writing, self forgiveness, and emotional release, this is not your average recovery facility in the best of ways. Information is redially available on the education and backgrounds of each staff member, with licenses posted on the walls of the classroom and inside the house. Individual counselors are skilled and attentive to each individual, with individual sessions scheduled throughout the week and move with the curriculum in terms of content and discussions. Individual rooms are comfortably fernished and welcoming, meals are prepared by professionals who foster a family-table setting environment, and provide unique dishes for varying tastes. (Vegetarians and Vegans are catered too and never go hungry.) Meditation and Tai Chi are welcome events of the day, with opportunity for physical and mental growth through relationships formed with the dedicated instructors. Aftercare is superior. Contact with past participants, those of your individual cohort, and with staff members is fostered long after you leave the facility. Bags are checked, but personal freedom is always #1 with staff members. Phones are allowed during specific times during the week, movie nights are savored, books are passed between participants with joy and contact with your authentic self is re-established. Spirituality is favored in parts of the curriculum, but specific faiths or denominations don’t matter at all. Agnostic people are welcome. Not to mention, The Clearing doubles as a sanctuary for retired farm animals that add to the experience exponentially. Goats, ducks, horses, cats, and sheep are available to feed and love. ❤️

This place helped save my life. The CUPWS program and the doctors associated with it are nothing short of amazing. I received the best care here and through the OB Outreach Clinic. I am now going strong, with over 5 years of recovery and a happy healthy 5 year old girl. Recovery is possible, thank you Dr. Rudolf, Dr. Walsh, and everyone who supported me on my journey along the way. Proud to say that I have changed my life, and currently in Nursing School so I can provide the compassion and care that was once so freely given to me through this program and the beginning of my recovery. It IS possible, and addicts are as much deserving as anyone else.

It’s a drug detox facility it’s not supposed to be fun. The doctors are very attentive & genuinely care about the patients. I went there last year & got on the methadone program. They were extremely helpful w setting me up at the methadone clinic closest to my home location. They get a star taken way only because you can’t leave your small room unless it’s to walk the hallways. Fresh air & some sunshine would’ve made it a perfect 5 stars but you can’t leave your room really is the only negative thing I’d say about the place. Other than that, it’s an amazing place to detox at. They will do everything in their power to make it as easy & painless as possible

I was admitted to this facility in february of 2020. I was at rock bottom of my eating disorder, experiencing a paranoid psychotic break, and at the start of a global pandemic. I won’t lie, at first i really didn’t find it helpful. I wanted to leave, i didn’t like the program and i DEFINITELY hated the meal plan. As most people with eating disorders did (and do) in the program. As i started to become healthier, mentally more than physically, i really thrived here in this facility. My therapist and the staff who worked there at the time were the highlight of my day. I wouldn’t have been able to recover without Hannah Flemings incredible psychology skills, and the support of Aimee as a dietary tech/counselor. Chelsea always made me laugh and was an amazing person to be around. Rachel was always such a cool chick, and i loved the groups that all of the counselors ran. I truly believe that i would not be walking this earth anymore if it weren’t for the care and support that i received from Center for Discovery in Edmonds. I understand why there’s a lot of bad reviews here, mostly because it’s teenagers who received care from this facility who most likely didn’t want to get better or had bad experiences with some staff. But please don’t hesitate to send your children to this facility, they really do help people and i am a testimonial for that. I would give you guys 5 stars, but there is one staff member who still works there that left a really bad taste in my mouth. Kara was probably the absolute worst person to hire as a counselor. I don’t care if she was a social worker and has experience, she should never work in an eating disorder clinic. When i was there, she caused a client to sit out of a group and start crying because she had us do stretches and exercises that went beyond our movement level (which is dangerous, because we’re supposed to always have our head above our heart for cardiac safety). She was very pushy with me when i showed signs of anxiety, challenging me to stop stimming when it was my way of self soothing in a scary environment. When i expressed my dislike towards her, all of the clients agreed with me and felt the same. Even when i had another stay in the Bellevue adult facility, none of the clients there liked her either (and that was in 2022). Otherwise, everyone there is doing an amazing job at providing comfort and care to the clients, at least in 2020 when i was there.

My experiences with Ryther have been both personal as a foster parent in addition to professional as a community partner through a local non-profit. Ryther provided trauma-informed care to our foster child in a competent and caring manner while providing us with helpful parent education on behavioral and mental health challenges our child was experiencing. Although I was concerned that my foster child would resist participating in counseling, he really enjoyed play therapy and was able to learn coping skills through fun counseling modalities. In my volunteer work with foster children, I have also worked with a number of foster youth who were court-ordered to receive care at Ryther. The foster youths I volunteered with have all felt that the services they received at Ryther gave them positive coping skills and helped them make better life choices. Community Psychiatric Clinic - Belltown is a community center in Seattle, Washington that helps people in the Belltown area get the services and stability they need for a healthy independent life. That includes people who have addictions to drugs or alcohol. It’s important to note that this isn’t necessarily a treatment center. They do have gro
Really like it here. Sure it’s a rougher scene, and the waiting room can be iffy. But Dr Rowlett is unbelievably kind and my therapist is amazing. They work in tandem and are always looking out for my best interests. The corrected a lot of past misdiagnosis and mistreatment and I’m doing better than I ever thought I could. They got me down to one pill daily and two PRN meds when I used to be on nearly a dozen. I am so thankful.

There are mixed reviews for this clinic. I understand that there is a fast turn-around for the case managers. I have went through a couple as they eventually move on to another job. It's an overwhelming underpaid position I'm sure. But the psychiatrist is the best. His name is Dr. Rowlett and he really does care. His heart radiates with love for all his clients. I always get nervous in front of a psych physician because I know that they are observing me, but I tell him my symptoms or what is bothering me the most. That is very easy for me because I love to talk I have a outgoing personality. I spent many years of my childhood battling bone cancer. I get traumatic memories frequently, but also physically, I get intense migraines that I must take mood stabilizers for (helps prevent pain). He does a great job helping me manage that. I never run out, he refills it on time. If you are having bad side effects he will not force you to continue to take something that is not good for you. He puts great consideration into the medication he prescribes, never feel like he is just "throwing" pills (since I have always needed this medication I never feel offended.) He takes his job very seriously he has one of the most important jobs there is. He has white hair and is an older gentleman so I refer to him as the wizard 🎅 I mean that in a good way, my life is more enchanting and meaningful when I feel better. Straight up, managing a clients Mental Health is a very big job. I know for me that the medication is medically necessary, when my mental health is not balanced I am not a nice person to be around, stuck in bed and very cranky I get more out of life by taking my medication and I thank God for these resources. I am in fact grateful for this place, my old case manager helped me get my prescription glasses for free through the LensCrafters one sight program.

I just read the reviews for this place and allow me to retort. First off this place saved my life. I checked into ABHS not knowing the program, their reputation, or the temperament of the staff. The staff are a simply amazing!! Ms. B, Ms. Patrick, Ms. Moore, Ms. Womack, Mr. Torres, Mr. Van B., Mr. Prutsman, Ms. Wolf, Mr. Torres, Mr. Cuastic, Ms. Standfield, Ms. O’Brien, Mr. Guy, Ms. Aguilar, Ms. Dobins, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Hirtch, Ms. Brown, Ms. Chichester, Ms. Wagner, the 3 Mr. Gs, Ms. Pagan, Mr. O, Mr. Hemple, Mr. Dock, Ms. Sumptner, Ms. Bopa, Ms. Wilamu, Ms. Garcia, Ms. Fouler, Ms. Lee, Ms. Karris, Ms. Davy, Ms. Nguyen, Mr. Cooper, and to any of you that I am forgetting I want to tell you all that I will always remember you all. You all were my rock when I needed it, you called me on my sh!t, helped me grow and learn, and got me started on my path to sobriety. Ms. Standfield there are no words, you were my life coach, my safe place, someone who I admire, someone I want to be like, and you don’t do it for praise or fame. You took me under your wing, gave me so so so many gold nuggets to put in my backpack you made me rich. You are wicked smart and taught me how my childhood trauma affected me and how to not be victim to it anymore. When the student is ready……the teacher presents themself. Mr. Van B., Ms. Brown, Ms. Davy, Ms. Chichester, and Mr. Prutsman you are fair, just, straight forward, honest, and forgiving. You showed me compassion, empathy, support, guidance, gave me second chances, and did not let me self destruct. You all are the best example of what true leaders are really are. For those reviews that try to disrespect and put a stain on all the good you do well they are absolutely wrong. To those that have anything negative to say about this place well some of your expectations are a bit far fetched. First don’t bring a child to see their parent in rehab. It’s traumatizing and that trauma causes addiction so way to go. Also no you can’t leave rehab and go to the store to buy contraband. You could have brought drugs into rehab causing a relapse or a overdose. What gives you the right to miss treat the staff and expect them to take it and allow you to stay. All of these behaviors are of someone not willing to commit to being sober. If you can’t learn to behave like normal people and follow rules in a safe place how can you expect to do that in the real world. My point is this the program at ABHS is working for those that want to be sober. I have been to rehab 3 times and I just graduated on 6/18 and it’s the last time I am ever going to rehab because this place taught me how to stand up on my own two feet get past my abuse, my low self astern, looking for my worth from others, and help shape me into the man I am today. Sure rehab has rules some of them may seem weird or even dumb at times but they are there to teach you to retrain you to prepare you as best they can so when you walk out of their doors into the real world you are ready to succeed at a sober life. For those that got booted you know what if you would have apologized taken your lumps and showed that you were truly sorry for your acts they would have allowed you back in. ABHS doesn’t say no to anyone. They let you come back again and again. This is a good place run by people that are trying to save people’s lives. They’ve seen everything that you can think of and do the best they can. However, we as addicts have to meet them halfway if we don’t want it, what they teach won’t stick and we won’t be prepared and we will go back in use. It’s up to us to choose the right thing to make good choices and to heal if that’s what you want then this is the place you wanna go to because they will make sure with every fiber of their being to try and help you to teach you to show you empathy and compassion, in your darkest moment they are the light that guides you to a path of sobriety. And anyone says different than they weren’t ready to be sober in the first place.
