Sequim, Washington | Peninsula Behavioral Health is a rehab for drug and alcohol addiction in Sequim, Washington. Every rehab offers different levels of care, and this rehab has outpatient and intensive outpatient programs. The approach this treatment center takes is a unique one. They emphasize progress over perfection and follow a harm reduction model for addiction r | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I wish there were options for longer term care instead of trying to get you in and out of there as fast as possible. I would have liked to get more help instead of only getting to see a counselor for once or twice a month for 6 months before they tell me they need to discharge me to make room for new clients. I recommend going to the Sequim PBH instead of Port Angeles, I had a terrible experience at the Port Angeles one.

We hit a wave of teenage destructive behavior at my house and we didn’t know what to do. At first I put this facility in my pocket and thought things might get better, guess what, they didn’t. They hit an all time high that made me call at 3am desperate for help. Every single person I spoke to, every therapist, doctor, nurse, and staff member was exceptional. My son left 5 days after the blast of “this isnt safe behavior anymore”. It was the best decision we have made for our son. I would recommend this facility to anyone. Our son had a wonderful 6 weeks focused, re-learning how to live, re-learning himself. Can’t say enough about Newport Academy!

Truth speaks in silence. This facility genuinely was an undeserved kindness, that in retrospect I have come to an even deeper appreciation of. I found a home here that even years later is a place I know I can go to to as a soundboard for thoughts. The people I met here, staff and peers a-like, became apart of my life in a very similar to family or tribe-like sense. This facility is truly an underrated and deserving of recognition gem that we have here on the peninsula. Kindest Respects.

Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers is located in Kirkland, Washington, and provides inpatient care to men and women living with an alcohol or drug dependency. Programs are gender separated so that individuals have the confidence to navigate recovery in a safe and supportive environment. This facility takes a comprehensive approach to care —an appro | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Lakeside Milam Inpatient in Kirkland, WA has given me a second chance at rebuilding my life and laying a foundation for sustainable recovery. After a 10-year stretch of sobriety, I relapsed—quickly spiraling into a dark, painful place that lasted longer than I ever imagined. When I reached out for help again, LMRC admitted me within just a few hours and welcomed me straight into detox.
During detox, patients are given the option to rest and regain strength or to begin joining group processing, lectures, and meals as soon as they are stable. Once detox is complete, the structure kicks in—every scheduled activity is required and punctuality is expected. That accountability, though challenging, sets the tone for living life with purpose and responsibility again.
What makes LMRC stand out is the depth and passion of its programming. The lectures are engaging and evidence-based, providing proven strategies for confronting addiction and personal struggles. Patients and families are educated on brain function, the science of addiction, communication tools, and practical steps for recovery. Family workshops and lectures reinforce the idea that healing is a shared journey.
The staff are another reason this place works. Many openly share their own recovery stories, modeling service and honesty—the cornerstones of active recovery. Compassion and accountability go hand in hand here; the team genuinely cares while also calling patients out when needed. The presence of doctors, ARNPs, psychologists, and nurses every day adds reassurance and professional oversight.
The daily life at LMRC also helps patients reset. Structured routines, balanced meals (with a salad bar, soups, snacks, and coffee in the mornings), designated tech time, movies on weekends, and free time for assignments or connection with peers all create a balanced environment. It’s structured without being suffocating.
Recovery is hard. It’s painful, emotional, and messy. But LMRC makes the path a little more manageable. They emphasize the fellowship of AA, CA, NA, and HA by offering in-house meetings with volunteers and trips to outside meetings several times a week. These opportunities remind us that addicts best help addicts, and alcoholics best help alcoholics.
Every patient receives an individualized Tx plan, with assignments and goals tailored to their needs, and the support remains consistent through the ups and downs. More than just a program, LMRC fosters willingness over denial, growth over shame, and community over isolation.
For anyone serious about breaking free from addiction, LMRC Inpatient in Kirkland is more than a treatment center—it’s a place where recovery begins or restarts, and can truly take root.

Attending Lakeside has been one of the best decisions of my life. Their inpatient facility in Kirkland has a very welcoming atmosphere, the grounds are wooded and beautiful you get lots of free time to enjoy yourself mixed in with some very informative lectures and groups.
I spent some time at the outpatient facility and I would again suggest going there for inpatient, outpatient, or continuing care. I had a wonderful case worker for most of my time there who helped me navigate some challenging life experiences, and the groups I had there were invaluable to my recovery.

The Clearing is a substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health treatment center in Friday Harbor, Washington. The program previously offered a residential treatment option. However, they are relaunching their program online for ease of use and at a more affordable cost. The organization accepts self pay and has an income based sliding fee scale. | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Our family member was an attendee at The Clearing beginning July 2019. She had attended six 12 step inpatient rehab programs over the past 10 years and only experienced short term abstinence after each program. During the times she was "clean" it was through sheer will power. As a dear friend once said: "While she was in AA meetings, her addiction was out in the parking lot doing push-ups". Then this same friend recommended The Clearing. Several things struck us as different right away. Our family member was interviewed by the owners to see if the program was a good fit. Then, we learned that all participants start at the same time. They are on the journey together without new participants joining intermittently during the 28 days. Finally, this was the first place that REALLY looked at co-diagnosis. Other places gave lip service to treating co-diagnoses and gave 2-4 hours of counseling during a twenty eight day stay. At the clearing there was 120 hours of counseling. This is unheard of and in our hearts we know that this is what allowed our loved one to finally get to the bottom of her pain. Our family training is allowing us to better walk her new life with her and for that we are grateful. The post program support has made a huge difference in her confidence. We finally have our dear family member back and for that we will be forever grateful.

The Clearing is a TREMENDOUS program. I had went for anxiety, depression, disorganized eating. I didn't have a drug or alcohol addiction but it didn't matter. All traumas are addressed from the underlying core emotional issues. The program requires you to give your all. There is 6 days a week work, starting with tai chi, workshop, meditation, 1:1 counseling and more. You will thoroughly learn the process to uncovering your hurt and how to heal. The staff is amazing. There are no judgements, no shame, just healing peace. The grounds are fantastic, the animals are therapeutic, the food is out of this world. The key is to pour your heart and soul into this process, that's what makes this so transformative. You realize you have everything you need to heal right inside of you once you understand how to get there. There is support from staff and the other participants every step of the way. You are never alone in your healing. Make the phone call or text, ask every question, do your due diligence and you will not be let down. You are truly loved; from day 1 and long after you leave the grounds The Clearing is there for you and your family.

Encouraging, educated staff at the Clearing form personal bonds with every participant. The curriculum is advanced, for individuals ready to work on themselves and grow while they overcome addictions and their underlying issues. Be prepared to do a lot of writing, self forgiveness, and emotional release, this is not your average recovery facility in the best of ways. Information is redially available on the education and backgrounds of each staff member, with licenses posted on the walls of the classroom and inside the house. Individual counselors are skilled and attentive to each individual, with individual sessions scheduled throughout the week and move with the curriculum in terms of content and discussions. Individual rooms are comfortably fernished and welcoming, meals are prepared by professionals who foster a family-table setting environment, and provide unique dishes for varying tastes. (Vegetarians and Vegans are catered too and never go hungry.) Meditation and Tai Chi are welcome events of the day, with opportunity for physical and mental growth through relationships formed with the dedicated instructors.
Aftercare is superior. Contact with past participants, those of your individual cohort, and with staff members is fostered long after you leave the facility.
Bags are checked, but personal freedom is always #1 with staff members. Phones are allowed during specific times during the week, movie nights are savored, books are passed between participants with joy and contact with your authentic self is re-established. Spirituality is favored in parts of the curriculum, but specific faiths or denominations don’t matter at all. Agnostic people are welcome.
Not to mention, The Clearing doubles as a sanctuary for retired farm animals that add to the experience exponentially. Goats, ducks, horses, cats, and sheep are available to feed and love. ❤️

Residence XII offers a variety of outpatient services, a free family program and strong alumnae for ongoing support on the journey of recovery. Residence XII provides free assessments and referrals for women seeking treatment for alcohol and chemical depende | Treatments Programs Payment Options | i was at newport for 55 days and it was quite possibly the scariest time of my life. i was struggling with ptsd, depression, SH and SI, and this place turned all of that around in less than 2 months. i know not everyone’s experience is the same and people are going to view residential treatments differently, but going here genuinely saved my life and my relationship with my parents. i’m almost an adult and have a job straight out of treatment, which wasn’t even a possibility where i was before going there. shoutout to the cc’s and my pod (pine) as well as the amazing chef, i miss him dearly and i hope he’s well. and of course the clinical team (counselor, individual therapist, family therapist). i do miss being there and it was a scary and anxiety-inducing but also incredibly helpful and healing chapter of my life.

Newport saved our daughter and set our family on a stable path to recovery.
Last fall we were losing our daughter to mental health challenges, PTSD and increasingly unsafe behaviors. It took 3 tries to get her to commit to Newport, but after the first few weeks of adjustment, she made more therapeutic progress with the team at Newport than in all of the other interventions we've tried to date (years of CBT therapy, DBT skills, and peer groups) .
We are now 3 months out from her discharge and we still have moments of stress but Newport put us back on the same team in terms of addressing challenges together and we have been super impressed with how our 15yo is using skills to navigate the tough moments.
We are extremely grateful to the Newport team for everything they did to get through to our child and earn her trust in their process.

It’s been 3 years since our son was at Newport. And it’s been a long road. However 3 years later he is thriving and growing in ways I could only dream. Everything we have learned from Newport we use today. It’s absolutely everything we needed for our son and as a family. Beyond grateful
